Well I had to drop off a package quickly, and I have to say things have definitely changed. The staff is pleasant and greets you with a smile! I have dropped off packages a couple of times now, and even though they weren't making any money from me, they accepted them graciously. I got there and a large dog raised its head to look at me as I was smacked in the face with the smell of marijuana. Not a big deal, I thought. I looked through a box of chargers and found the exact one I needed. I was stoked. When Shawn went to ring it up, it was $65. Are you kidding me? This charger goes for $32 brand new on the Lenovo website! I asked if he could do anything about the price and he said he'd have to talk to his manager. He went behind a wall, to talk with some woman who's head I could see the top of through a window, and they talked a bit. He came back, essentially said that it was a lot more expensive than he expected too but the owner is firm on pricing. I thanked him for his help and left. I have no problem with Shawn, he was just doing his job. But the lady behind the wall and the owner? Are you serious? How do you justify selling a used laptop charger for twice the price of it brand new? Why did you not come talk to my face instead of making Shawn, who already has a queue of phone screens to fix, run around your store? The worst part is, people have to pay these prices because it is a small town and there's nowhere else to go. Here I am trying to support local businesses and being forced to buy from the colossal corporate dome that is Bezos' shaved head. Absolutely ridiculous.

Destiny in the front office is nothing short of amazing. She's knowledgeable, courteous, and genuinely helpful--she reminds you of what great customer service used to feel like. And then there's Richard (aka "hernia guy"), who literally busted his gut helping folks out. He may not have lifted over his weight class for me, but he absolutely went above and beyond. I needed a couple of straps to secure a pallet on my trailer, and what did Richard do? He walked out to his own truck and grabbed a couple of his personal straps for me to use. He didn't know me from Adam--but that's just the typical MO for the whole team at Target Rental. If you need to rent anything in Durango, do yourself a favor and go see these folks. This is how customer service is supposed to feel.
