I'm writing this one-star review, not out of being malicious towards PC Clinic and the owner, Chris McCotter, but because Chris has given me no other choice due to the lack of communication on his part. On or near the middle of mid-January or February, the Solid-state drive (SSD), on my personal desktop computer crashed. I contacted Mr. McCotter at the PC Clinic, whom I have used for several years. The hard drive was beyond repair and Mr. McCotter stated that since the SSD was only two years old and came with a five-year warranty, there was the possibility I could get a refund. Chris McCotter sent the SSD back to the Manufacturer, sometime around the end of February or beginning of March. On March 15, I sent an email to Chris McCotter asking if he had heard from the Manufacturer about the status of the warranty of the SSD and if I had received a refund. Mr. McCotter responded on March 17, stating, "No news on the drive yet but I sent out an inquiry. In the event of an approved warranty claim, a refund would not be issued, but rather a replacement drive. At that point I would have to sell it in order to get you a refund. More on that when I hear back from the manufacturer." On that same day, I responded back via email to Mr. McCotter, I would like my own new hard drive back if they honored the warranty. At some point between March 17 and April 8, Chris McCotter sent a message stating that the manufacturer was not going to honor the warranty. On April 8, I replied to Mr. McCotter to please send me the email communication he had received from the manufacturer and that I would like the information for my records. Since that last communication from Chris McCotter between March 17 and April 8, I did not receive any further communication from Mr. McCotter nor the PC Clinic. On April 15, I emailed Mr. McCotter, again requesting the communication from the manufacturer that they had not honored the warranty, via a written communication On Tuesday, April 26, I emailed Chris McCotter, this time stating that it had been several weeks since he had communicated with me about this issue of no written proof that the manufacturer had honored or not honored the warranty. Within this email, I stated that if I did not receive any communication from him by April 27, 2022, that I would file a claim with the Better Business Bureau and publish a one-star Google review. On Wednesday, April 27, Mr. McCotter responded to this email stating that there were a lot of threats in my email and explained away his lack of communication (over 1.5 months) as being too busy. On that same day, I responded back with the following: "There are no threats at all. I have been trying to get a response from you for over a month now...please get written proof one way or another that the manufacturer has rejected the warranty." As of this writing on May 5, 2022, I have not received the requested response from Chris McCotter, therefore I have no choice but to submit this one-star review and contact the Better Business Bureau. Google reviews only allow 4000 characters, so I had to abridge the events. I imagine that Chris McCotter will respond to this one-star review as he responds to all negative reviews. With threats and anger. There is absolutely no excuse for this extremely poor customer service. Unless Chris McCotter shows actual proof from the manufacturer rejecting the warranty, I can only assume that Mr. McCotter now has a new SSD in his possession and has stolen that money from me. I will be more than happy to delete this review if I receive proof from the manufacturer with the contact person's name, email, and phone number. If I do not by the end of the day, May 6, 2022, then the Better Business Bureau will be contacted, and this review remains posted. I have given Chris McCotter and the PC Clinic every chance to come clean with this issue. He has left me no choice but to say he has lied and stolen from me. There are no threats Mr. McCotter. I would give a minus rating if it was available. We hired Chris to review our security system for our business. He insisted the system that we already was inferior to what we needed and insisted on us purchasing a new system through him. Once received per our agreement he was going to come by and install the new system and make sure it was functioning correctly. The system was dropped by our office and paid for upfront in June. It is now almost the end of December and after us calling, emailing, and even stopping by his office for multiple months he still hasn't been abel to get the "simplified" system he had us purchase functioning. When I suggested we return the system and requested a refund he became confrontational and blamed his inability to complete the project on a number of situations. My experience with PC Clinic was excellent. I found Chris to be thoughtful, professional, and very knowledgable. His communication and listening skills, especially for people like me who are not super tech savey, are some of the best of IT personel with whom I have worked. I went to have my laptop cleaned up since it was running so slowly. After Chris analyzed the computer, he said buying a new computer would be cheaper than cleaning up mine. He explained that my old computer had many issues and explained several options for replacing it. I decided on a rebuilt computer which I picked up the next day. Unbelievable service! I got a virus and they cleaned up my computer then recommended a new solid state hard drive because they noticed it was running slowly and could fail soon. I knew it was slow but thought it was "normal". They made the repair and my computer runs better than when it was new! I fully trusted their judgement after asking many many questions. And the cost was minimal! I would recommend PC Clinic to anyone who is looking for someone they can trust! The service was great and they took their time to explain everything. Chris at PC Clinic responded quickly to my email about fixing my laptop. After letting him know what the problem was I took it in and he again let me know what would be the best way to get it up and running again. He suggested a new larger hard drive to speed up my laptop. My laptop is 5 years old so I was sure he would suggest I get a new laptop, but instead reassured me that I could get another 2 years out of this one. The repair cost was very reasonable and I had it back in 3 days. I would highly recommend PC Clinic if you need repairs done at a reasonable price and quick turnaround service. read more

I took my computer in because it was acting like it had malware on it, and was told that my operating system was faster than my outdated computer could handle. Rather than charging me to 'fix' it anyway, they suggested I transfer my hard drive to a new-to-me computer that they had refurbished for less than the cost of the labor on fixing the old one! They worked with me on my schedule for payment and pickup and now we have a laptop that not only works better, it LOOKS better too! I called PC clinic and someone picked up the phone, which was the first PC repair place I called that had someone answer the phone. I was also thrilled that they were taking in person help since my issue could not be fixed remotely. I drove right over and a space was cleared for immediate repair. My problems were fixed quickly with humor and an upbeat attitude. All my many chords were even reorganized into a coherent tidy bundle with little tie chords that were included for free! read more

My old computer was non-functional, for uncertain reasons. I took it to PC Clinic where it was diagnosed as a major failure. They assisted me in getting a new on and transferred all by data to it. The people there went out of their way to get this to me just before I had to leave town. They are now procuring a new battery for my wife's computer. I had a couple of different issues on two laptops recently that are used for work so I couldn't be without them for long. I took them in and was able to wait while Chris figured out the problems. He also took the extra time to do a quick over all check and made suggestions on what would improve the operation of the computer. Purchased a refurbished Apple computer from PC Clinic a year ago. Prior to the purchase, PC Clinic did their best keeping my old computer up and running. Never any high pressure sales push for a new computer. It was my idea to buy new small Mac book, however they had a refurbished one for a lot less money so I choose to buy that. I took my better half laptop in as it would not come on. the tech was able to get it to come on and then he did a complete scan on it and then found that the hard drive was bad and they installed a new one without charging me extra over what was costing me for other services for the labor and the hard drive was very reasonably priced. read more

These guys are really good. I had not noticed my computer's battery had bloated and was ready to fail. Glad I brought it in or it could have been a bad problem.
