The Americano I got for the road was better than the big name coffee shops plus this place is super convenient right off of I-70 on the way to all the ski spots. Upon pickup, I was given the only board they had left which reached above my forehead. I am not an advanced snowboarder, by any means.. Luckily I was told I could possibly exchange my board for a smaller size at their sister rental company, Breeze Ski Rentals (base on availability). I contacted Breeze Ski Rentals the following morning and spoke to Leilani* (sp? I hope I got the name right), who advised me she has a couple board options that may be more fitting for me because the one I received was wayyyy too big. I showed up to the rental site and I waited maybe 5-10 mins in the big crowd before I was spotted by Leilani who addressed me by name!! Not sure how she knew it was even me!! She was great-- full of energy and very efficient! The exchange process so super smooth and seamless. I was with her for no more than 5 minutes before she had me out the door with an appropriate size board!! She let me know I can return the rental back to Epic Mountain Gear when I was done, which was a plus!! :) Thanks sooooo much, Leilani!! You're such a lifesaver. Your service was really impeccable!! Shares space with a Starbucks as an added bonus! Most resorts you'll be visiting or staying at will have a similar rental and gear setup. Or you'll bring your own from home or back down in Denver. Customer service here is top notch and you won't feel rushed browsing or asking questions like at most resorts. In a pinch Breeze can get you a new pair of goggles or gloves and it's location means you won't pay out of the nose. Lots of gear for sale and you can reserve online for ease when you arrive. Maybe you forgot thick socks or a jacket? They can hook that up for you too. Don't forget sunscreen or sunglasses for those strong Colorado UV rays. They also offer a military discount which is pretty sweet. If you turn in gear early they'll refund the price difference too. Honest. Efficient. Friendly.

I've never thought one ski shop was better than another. Buyer beware, I've always said. Wrong. This place has my business now, now matter where I live. I went in to ask about demo-ing some skis I'd read about. I'm a 63 year-old expert woman skier. Riley listened, paid attention and made some suggestions. I'm thrilled because now I am the proud owner of the Stoëckli Nela 88s and the Roxa boots I never had even heard of. Pricey? You bet. Worth it? Absolutely. Riley said I'd make it good if I didn't like the equipment. He won't get these back over my dead body. I'm skiing better at my age now than I've ever skied. Sounds like hyperbole? Believe whatever you want. I'm just sayin'.

Always up for an adventure this year's girl trip was to Evergreen, Colorado and a day of flying…read morefishing. We signed up with Blue Quill for a day out in Chessman Canyon to hike and learn the basics of fly fishing. It was like all the reviews here say an amazing experience and we all agree we would do it again--kinda hooked on it however, what we want everyone to know is the professionalism of the people who are your guides. Mid-morning across the river we could see that a family was in trouble. Our guides--Chris and Cam--sprinted across the river to provide assistance. A angler was having a diabetic episode. They sprinted back to grab food supplies, check in with us and then back. There's a lot more to this story, a lot more, but the point we want everyone to know is this: when you are out of reach for the day in a situation that could take a turn for the worst you have to trust your guides. We could not have been in better hands than with the entire staff at Blue Quill.
