The sesame chicken had a good flavor, but was too sweet and had A LOT of sauce. The crispy noodles were really salty but the flavor was also good. I was a bit disappointed in this meal. We went here because of the reviews but out of the 7 of us only 1 liked their meal. The salmon poke was nicely presented but only had 5 or 6 small cubes of salmon, undercooked rice, trail mix which incidentally does not belong in poke and way too much sauce to taste anything. Other dishes like general taos chicken and sesame chicken was way too sweet on the sauce and they got the order wrong on the sides. Anyway it was okay but not good and pricey for what you get. Everything came quickly and I was thoroughly impressed. The owner used to own a restaurant in Juneau with a similar menu and I miss the food very much. I may be a little biased because I worked at that restaurant in Juneau for about 10 years and I know the work and effort that does into ensuring customers enjoy their food through and through. The owner takes pride in every attention to detail for a great dining experience. If you have an issue with anything, food or customer service, I know they'd make it right. They did a good job with their Wasilla restaurant and wish them continued success. Highly recommend any of the Thai curry dishes (green is my favorite) - just perfection! My husband, son, and I ate at your restaurant this past Sunday. The service was horrible! Our waitress took our order and that was the last we saw of her. Another waitress brought us our appetizer, and then third person brought us our meal. All three of us ordered soup- which never came out. When we got our meal I asked about our soups and the guy asked if we'd be okay if he brought them out then. By the time we got them we ere already into eating our meal. We didn't see anyone after that until we received our bill- no one came to check to see if everything was okay, or ask if we needed refills. I had the beef and basil dish, which was very greasy. It definitely was not worth $70. This is only the second time I've dined in at your restaurant, and quite frankly, I don't think we'll be back. read more

I went to Basil Ginger over the weekend for a lunch date with a friend. We were immediately greeted and sat. Received water & menus quickly and in about 5 minutes the waitress came by. We ordered the Tuna Poke Bowl, S.S. Crab Roll, and vegetable fried rice. Food came out fast. Everything tasted wonderful and was plenty of food. It was a really great experience overall except for one thing which is why I gave it 4 stars. While ordering we asked a few questions about ingredients we weren't familiar with. The waitress, while nice and did a great job, did not know her stuff at all. She clearly struggled with answers, didn't know what things tasted like, and claimed there was a mistake on the menu but it was accurate as we discovered when we got our food. Overall really great, I'll go again, I think they should probably work on staff education considering their price point. read more

I just got back from a visit to Alaska and staying with friends in Wasilla. They brought me here with some other friends on a Sunday night and I tried the House version of their Kung Pao chicken....Basil Stir Fry Ka-Pao. Absolutely the best I have ever tasted. The perfect portion and level of spiceyness. I requested my friends bring me back the following Sunday and I had the same meal. We tried various appetizers and they were all good. I have been eyeing this spot for a little bit. When I noticed they were open I had to make sure I made it in :) Service was really great. Our hostess was polite and our server was funny and professional. Our food was incredible!!! My friend got the chicken panagh (curry) and I got the coconut chicken soup. The curry was spicy but the flavor was perfect. The soup was also very tasty! Both dishes came with rice. We also ordered warm sake, which was by the way the smoothest warm sake I've ever tried!! Only sad part was we had ordered the dumplings for an appetizer but never got them. On the bright side, it was probably a good thing they didn't come out (it would've bee so much food) but I was sad not to have been able to have tried them... but there's always a next time. We have eaten here probably 4-5 times and tonight was our first night doing take out. I go to what I like and always get the vegetable curry; spicy level 3-4! The biggest complaint I have with this, is that I have never had it made the same way. One time it had tofu, other times it has celery, sometimes asparagus but always peppers and zucchini. Thankfully, I'm not picky about vegetables but seems odd to not have a consistent recipe for such an easy dish! Overall though; 5/5 taste! My husband always gets something different but enjoys the General Tsao chicken. When he put his take out order onto an actual plate, he thought he got more food doing take out! Either way though, good food portion. The prices are a bit higher; for those two dishes to go; was about $30. The prices aren't super surprising for the area but we have eaten in the restaurant here before and overheard a couple who left without ordering that the prices were way higher than they were expecting! So just something to be aware of! Neither of us has eaten sushi here, but as a general recommendation from friends, we go elsewhere for that! We would definitely recommend this place though! I ordered the Mongolian Beef dinner meal. The meat was perfectly tender and flavorful. The veggies were crisp and well seasoned. The Octupus was lightly firm and had a generous thickness. The wasabi mix was a bit low on horseradish which resulted in a less than optimal kick. But quantity will fix that. read more

It was horrible. Large wonton soup was not hot at all. $7, but you get four tiny wontons. My husband had curry with prawns for $28 (or $29) it was more like curry juice...... I was not able to be seated in a timely manner to begin with. Despite the restaurant being nearly empty, it took them about 10 minutes to look up from their phones and seat me. I had the Salmon Sushi, which let me tell you. 1. It was probably either Atlantic or pink salmon, the texture inferred that it was not fresh. 2. The smell, sushi is not supposed to smell rancid, the meat I had was just about turned over. 3. At $10 a pair, you can do much better in Wasilla. 4.
