I had the unfortunate task of having to go to court to get a restraining order against an extremely vindictive and manipulative individual with ties to law enforcement who knew how to play the game. She was using 3 different addresses, though all in the same area. I paid the Sheriff's Office twice to serve her, but each time she eluded their efforts. I then hired Basic Document Service to try to serve her. She initially evaded several attempts by David, but I went back to her addresses, talked to neighbors, and confirmed where she was actually living. I told David, and he was on it right away. She refused to answer the door, but David observed her car was parked there, and there was a woman inside trying to look out without being seen. He made the required legal announcement loudly, waited a bit, then left the papers there for her to get when she stepped outside. She tried to claim she had not been served, but with the details David provided to me there was no question she was served. David was ready to testify if needed, but the judge said it wasn't needed. And, I'm not the only person who has said this before. How you're even in business to begin with, is beyond me. I was referred to a "paralegal" I was given a quote over the phone to perform a motion that had a deadline. The motion was not completed by the deadline and I had already made a payment that exceeded the original quote. I later learned that "Paralegals" can only work under the supervision of an attorney per California State law. I was fortunate enough to have paid through Paypal with a credit card. Although Paypal did nothing to protect me as a result of a incomplete and poorly written motion, I was able to contest the charges through my credit card company. I prevailed and received a charge back to my account. It is important to obtain an agreement in writing. I was only given a quote over the phone and when I came in to bring in my documents and discuss the issue with the so called paralegal, I was told to pay a higher price. David did not like the price my lawyer offered so told me I owed him $300. I felt really ripped-off so he agreed to try again. I was so anxious to get the restraining order served I offered him a $100 bonus if he served it. He served it but did not file the proof of service paper work which meant the service was not valid. So I ended up paying $400 and got nothing for it. If you use David get a price up front in writing and do not pay him until you get proof he has filed the proof of service paperwork. You do not get what you pay for with David and you pay way too much. He is not at all trustworthy. I would never do business with him again. read more

David is a complete rip off!!. Takes it upon himself to make his own decisions and do things on his own terms. Stole money right out of my moms pocket. Says he will be there a certain day and time to serve papers that we payed him to serve that night (that we didn't even have to pay for we could've had someone do it for FREE ,but he will try and empty your pockets) and didn't serve them until TWO days later. He tells you about additional fees after we sign paperwork, he's very misleading and unprofessional! When I gave him a call all he did was yell and talk over me because he knows he's phony i couldnt even explain to him all of my questions.
