Don't waste your money!! Fairy cut my sons and husbands hair both hair cuts were horrible. My son has numerous haircuts and he loves to get his haircut, so he not your average screaming kid. His bangs are choppy and not even straight. His hair is still long in the back after I asked her to fix it. Seriously and she says she is the owner and instructor. I feel bad for the people who have learned from her because seriously she really shouldn't be cutting hair. Then on to my husband, she left strands of hair on the front of his head where she cut some pieces off and then left some there. The hair around his ears aren't even straight. The worst thing is I call the next day after I really realize how bad my sons haircut really is and she asks me if I'm bringing my kids with me? I say yes and she then tells me if I can come without my other 2 children because she has already cleaned my shop and I don't want to clean it again. She said my kids are out of control mind you my 3 year old was getting his haircut, my 2 year old would get up and walk around a few times by the water, magazines or books and my 6 month old can't possibly make a mess. Telling a mother her kids are not wanted is just not ok. My 2 year old didn't even make a mess, seriously the books and magazines were left in the same position and the shampo and items on sale where in the correct spaces. So I don't know how hard she needed to clean. If I had a choice I wouldn't even give her 1 star. read more

What an awesome spot! My boyfriend has been going to Barbie Barber for a while now and refuses to go anywhere else to get his unruly, wiry, white boy fro cut. He loves the atmosphere and claims the stylists are top notch. Since they always do such a great job on his hair I decided to give it a try myself. I'm very particular about my long hair so I was quite apprehensive about letting a stranger work on it, especially in a male-oriented barber shop. As soon as I walked into the salon, all my worries were put to ease as I was greeted by a friendly receptionist offering me a free drink! After accepting a Corona, I was assigned to a cute, blonde stylist (I forget her name) who gave me the most comprehensive consultation I've ever received. She really took the time to examine my face and come up with a plan that would compliment my features nicely. We decided to take a few inches off the bottom and add some layers to help accentuate my cheekbones. She executed the cut with precision and expertise...the final product was even better than I'd hoped for! I found this place after purchasing a groupon from them. A place that offers you a drink while you wait is a plus for me. The staff is friendly and they know how to cut hair. I am glad everyone agrees here that Brittan knows how to cut hair. She was very thorough with mine and did such a good job that i have been coming back. Fairy is the best barber out there! My boyfriend got so many horrible haircuts from countless other places before i took matters into my own hands and found Barbie Barber. He's had such terrible past haircuts that I didn't let him go to this appointment without me! I had to see for myself what they're going to do with his hair, especially right before the holidays and a wedding we are attending in a couple weeks! Fairy greeted my boyfriend with a nice cold beer which he definitely enjoyed, but beyond that, Fairy definitely did not disappoint with this haircut! She explained how she had a background in learning how to cut men's hair with geometric shapes and just blew me away. Got a groupon for this a couple of weeks ago and gave them a try. Beyond my expectations as far as the haircut itself. The owner took over my cut at some point to give a lesson to the other stylists. Learned stuff about the art of hair cutting myself. Don't judge the place based on location and interior - it's small and spartan, but the ladies are friendly and skilled. Today would have been my third trip to Barbie Barber. I got a perfectly fine cut by Taylor the last time that I came in and was happily surprised that she still works there. I called at 11:45 to arrange the first available appointment with Taylor and was told that she already had a 12:00 appointment but 12:30 was available. Great!! So I show up 45 minutes after my call, at the 12:30 time and Taylor is getting close to finishing up her client. She finishes and calls up another customer. I asked if they had me down for 12:30 and am told yes, but Taylor got backed up. As I go to leave the owner (I assume) asks me to please wait, enjoy a bud light. I told her that I called just 45 minutes ago. How does the schedule go south so fast? As I'm leaving she asks if I want to reschedule. No, I don't want to reschedule. I have beer at home and better things to do than sit around to pay you money. I won't be back. read more

I have been very dissatisfied - my colorist (FAIRY) does not pay attention to what I am telling her - you cannot even notice my highlights when I have my hair done now -- and the blonde color is now very "yellowish" with color "bleed" - no matter how many times I mention it to my colorist.She also burnt my hair due to sloppy , UNROFESSIONAL lightener application. I am very unhappy with them and would not recommend anyone going to them. Perhaps if they read all of their reviews - they would pay more attention to their customers - and not the money they are making! DO NOT GO THERE!!!!! read more

Fairy is a boss. A triple OG... when it was my turn for a haircut, I basically didn't shut up on how I wanted my hair. I was so used to having to tell other stylists what I wanted, that when I tried telling Fairy what to do and showed her a picture of what I wanted, in the nicest way possible, she basically shut me up, and reassured me that she's the professional in this field, and to let her do her work. After seeing the picture of what I wanted and put me in my place, she began her magic... By the end, I was amazed. She told me the reason I could never achieve the look I was going for was because my hair was disproportionate, and the technique she uses incorporates the individuals shape of their head, and she cuts the hair based on geometry. I've been coming here about 6 months now, and I have been extremely happy with every haircut I've had. I get my haircut by Anna and I'd recommend her to everyone. She really takes her time with your hair to make sure it is exactly how you want it. She also recommends different ways of styling my hair which I've really liked each time. So I heard about this place and told my boyfriend to check the place out,unfortunately I feel bad I even told him about this spot,because it was a disaster!he went in hopeing to get a trim and they left it totally not like he wanted it ,but he payed them anyways to not be a nag.once he left he noticed he had a big bald spot in the back of his head towards of the bottom of his hairline and close to his neck.by then we were together and went back and demanded not for her to fix it but just his money back.well this incredibly scary old hag(manager) told him repeatedly that it was his hairline,and is due to the fact that he has a cow lick? We were so confused about what she was talking about because it made no sense she just had no way to defend the mistake,and instead of apologizing to him,she got feisty with me!and while I was speaking to her she said she practically didn't care what I had to say, and that my boyfriend is 'old enough to speak for himself he doesn't need his mommy around' like really lady? As she was handing him his money back she made a rude comment saying I didn't know 21dollars would be a lot for someone like you, honestly in the real world that's incredibly rude, like what do you mean by that"!? If I could put zero stars I would. Rin, the girl who works there shouldnt even have ger license. She literally screwed up half my head because she didn't know what she was doing. I explained to her that I had been using box dye to make my hair jet black for four yrs. I wanted to add blue streaks. Any hair dresser with a conscience would not ecen accept my request. I, being the girl who did not attend 9 months worth of trainingto follow simple rules regarding hair, wasn't aware that in order to preserve the quality of ny hair, it would need to be stripped a few times and then bleached. Instead, she used 50 vol bleach on about half my heads worth of streaks to lift in order for it to be light enough to have blue show up. Wow. She not only made my hair a dull black on the rest, but she gave me gold and green streaks everywhere. Of course my color correction bill was unreal and my new stylist can't even believe this girl has a job. Take my advice and spend the extra Money to get your hair done right, or take twenty mins to learn how to do it yourself. I wasted so much money to correct her mistakes. Run away! !! read more
