I can't say enough good things about Ray! My son Lyriq has autism, so getting a haircut can sometimes be challenging, but Ray has always been incredibly patient, understanding, and kind with him. Even when the haircut isn't the easiest, Ray stays calm and takes his time, which makes me feel so much more comfortable as a mom. You can also tell that he truly knows what he's doing when it comes to cutting hair Lyriq always leaves looking great! Most importantly, I trust Ray 100% with my child. Finding someone who not only does an amazing job but also has the patience and understanding to work with my son means so much to me. I'm extremely grateful we found Ray and would absolutely recommend him, especially to other parents who may have a child who needs a little extra patience and care. read more

Haven't been to another barber shop in several years. Johnny is my guy, he never misses and is very skilled at what he does. But their whole team is very, very solid. Great atmosphere overall. There are a lot of great shops in OC, but this is the #1 best Imo read more

Very clean barber shop with a laid back and relaxed environment. For those of you attending with your relative, friend, or significant other, you can plop yourself on the sofa while they get a service performed. We had a great barber who gave my boyfriend the most relaxing beard trim and hot towel treatment. Ty Ray! Payment: CASH ONLY!!! You reserve your service and barber online by booking. Make sure to look at the full price of the service especially if you're using your phone (it might not know). It's a $10 deposit you can use Apple Pay or credit/debit online for the booking. You pay the rest in cash at the shop. This goes towards the full price of the service. There is no tipping option on the online booking. I believe each barber takes their own method of payment for tip (Apple Pay, Venmo, etc) read more

Found our new spot! So took my son to another shop this afternoon and they unfortunately did a terrible job on my son's fade. My wife called Dapper Don's to see their availability for an emergency fix. Over the phone they were very understanding, they responded "just bring him in and we will fix him up" Once we got there Happy and Bubba went above and beyond to help clean him up. They took us right away and made my boy feel reassured he wasn't going to be getting a hack job. Thankful for their professionalism and kindness! We will for sure be hitting these guys back up for our future cuts! read more

Dapper Don Barber Lounge - Needed a new look for my daughter's wedding. Ray did a fantastic job. - Barbers Near Me - Costa Mesa, California

This review is well overdue. Came here for about two years, only stopped because I moved to the IE. Happy (the owner) sets a great vibe and dials in the cut every time. He's open to tweaks and checks with you before finishing the taper, which I really appreciate. The complimentary beverage during the cut makes the experience that much more enjoyable, and since he's a Costa Mesa native he's got solid local recs! The shop keeps thriving, and whenever I'm back in the OC I'm booking with Happy. If you need a cut, don't hesitate, his work is clean and consistent. Thanks for everything, Happy, see you soon! read more

I've been coming to this barber shop once a month for about a year now. It's always easy to set up an appointment and always get a great cut. Nice chill vibe as well. Higher recommend you give them a try read more

Got clipped, and not just my hair. Paid over $50 for a haircut and beard trim... and I'm bald. Not even a clean razor shave on my dome or my beard. Just some clippers and vibes. I could've gotten the same results at home, blindfolded, using a butter knife. Save your cash, unless you enjoy paying premium prices for DIY-level results. This place is all buzz, no finesse. read more

Nice place for sure. Nice guys. First time there just saw it and walked in. Glad they saw me. Just needed the back cut. Never paid that much for just a 1/2 cut in back. $60?!? And more of a guys style vs girls. But good job. Too pricey for me. I'll stick to $25!-$30 But again nice shop, nice guys, nice cut read more

Hands down the best barbershop in town! We just moved in this area and needed a permanent barber. Thank you Low B for always being creative with my 11 year old son. Always making sure his hair was on point for competitions! My son is very particular about his haircut and Low B and all the gentlemen here are amazing! Environment is relaxing, super friendly, and my kids enjoy coming here. Definitely worth making an appointment here because they do get booked up. read more

Larry or "Ray" Easily one of the coldest barbers in the game. I don't write many reviews, but this one's well-earned. From the moment I sat in the chair, I knew I was in good hands. The precision, the blend, the confidence in every clip this wasn't just a haircut, it was a statement. My taper came out flawless, the lineup was razor-sharp. Clean enough to catch compliments before I even made it to my car!!!! What really sets him apart is the consistency. No rushed cuts, no 2nd guessing his work -- just real skill and attention to detail. He checks every angle, makes sure the cut fits your face, not just a trend. The shop vibe is chill, clean, and respectful. No egos, no waiting around for hours, just a solid environment where you can relax, talk some life, and walk out looking better than you walked in. Appreciate you Ray !!! read more

Searched up barbershops on yelp and this place popped up. Off the bat the name got my attention, then the pictures of their work and cool shop vibes convinced me to try them out. Would 100% recommend this spot - Bubba gave me my cut and it was fire! Vibes: this place I like over a lot of other barbershops since it's decorated well and its setup to be a real vibe. Doesn't come off as cheap or boring either Service: the guys here are really chill and all (from who I have gotten haircuts by) give great cuts. They take walk ins and appointments as well. They offer water / beer when you are waiting or getting your haircut which I appreciate as well. Cuts are on point tho seriously! read more

To say that I've finally found my barber shop is an understatement. After years of trying to find a new shop, I randomly read a yelp review and figured why not. All the guys here are super friendly and skillful and what they do. Price is a bit steep and I know there are cheaper shops out there, but Dapper Don's is worth it. read more

G the barber did a great job. My beard has been needing a cut like this since I it started getting long years ago. G did a job that gave the perfect edges. This is really a man's spot. They still exist, in Costa Mesa. If you need extra parking, it's on the back. read more

Worked with Bubba for a haircut today, awesome experience and cut will be back. Been looking for a new barbershop and definitely found it

This is a very clean and nice barber shop. I was scared to try a new barber shop with there only being a few days left until my uni graduation pictures, but this place did not disappoint as I got exactly what I asked for even though I wasn't sure what to ask for I just knew what I wanted my hair to look like. They helped me find out what I wanted exactly and it was also very quick especially for a quality haircut. I would def recommend this place and will for sure being going back again. read more

Stopped in last minute and had a haircut by Zach with a trim on the beard as well. The spot is tucked in the corner of this little shopping center right off the 55 freeway. I called ahead and walked in 15 minutes later. When i got there i was sat down in my chair within 60 seconds. I love it when things run smooth like that. Zach was easy to chat with and asked what exactly i wanted done. My beard was about 6 weeks out of control and i dont have much hair on top to work with so i asked for high fade starting with 1 at the bottom and blending to a 2 or 2.5 at the top without taking away any length on top. Zach nailed it. Then we taped the beard from my ears down to my chin, letting it gradually get longer. I don't like my lines to look too clean. I like a natural look, as if i never even got a cut, but just looks clean. I get exactly what i wanted. I even texted Zach the next day and was like "dude, you are my barber going forward" the looks I got at the gym made it worth it 100%. I usually get a cut every 2-3 months. But this made me want to bump it up to every 2 weeks. Don't underestimate the power of looking good daily read more

10/10 Great spot. The guys are great. The owner operator Happy took great care of me. Took his way time and made sure my cut was perfect. Didn't feel rushed at all. Definitely definitely coming back. read more

I love taking my son to this establishment. They have a carefree and very welcoming vibe - along with a cool without trying aesthetic. I've seen all of the work these artists have done - they really do an amazing and unique job for each individual that goes to their chair. My son see's Zach who is able to get him talking through his cut instead of watching TV or a show. It's a great experience for a growing young man in a technology heavy world. I highly recommend it. read more

Lowblends is the man. I walked in today and sat in his chair. All I said was "give me a high fade", he showed me a few pictures, and then gave me one of them haircuts that make you feel good when you look in the mirror. Crisp and clean fade that was quick with some good conversation. I'll definitely be back read more

Zack did a great job! And he was able to squeeze me in, which was awesome! Highly recommend them.

Dapper Don Barber Lounge is hands down, without a doubt THE SPOT. I've been all over Newport and Costa Mesa, but the best cuts I've had are here. Whether you need a clean up, or you are like me and have a very detailed and unique cut, THIS is the spot. I've been going to "G" for a couple years now, through different hairstyles, and he has never disappointed with every custom cut. The vibe of the shop is chill and friendly for all, getting back to the roots of a true Barber shop. You won't be disappointed! read more
