DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY. They sold my son a car that he was told had only one owner and no accidents. Car started overheating within the 30 day period and he contacted the salesperson. He would not return his calls or text messages. I told him to get a carfax and the car has had multiple owners and been in multiple accidents which was not disclosed. That is against the law. He spoke to a general mgr who advised he had a warranty and got him to have the car towed for them to figure out the problem. They have had the car since January and he can't get any answers. I brought a car from here a couple months ago, the car has been having issues from the very first day we brought the car. the manager had us come up to the dealership on multiple occasions and did not even LOOK at my vehicle. during the process I had to sit in the waiting area for hours without anybody acknowledging me or my car at all. after leaving the first review on how the manager and Stan had wronged me, they took it a step further to call my phone and tell me due to my review they could lose their job and is now refusing to work on my car for any reason due to me LEAVING AN HONEST REVIEW. please be careful buying cars from here! read more

this was the worse purchase of my life this dealership gives you the run around they sold me a lemon and lied about fixing a dent on my car my breaks are bad they grinding whenevrr I use them they told me before I purchase vehicle they would fix the dent that was on car prior to my buying the car and now they changing up it's been 1 month and 10 days since I brought the car and still wasn't able to get my car service they made me drive 1 hours up here 3 different times just too not service my car and always acting like the general manager is in a meeting or busy i give they whole staff a 1 star I'll never recommend nobody buying a car from here I brought my car November 12th 2024 and today is january 3rd 2025 I got called up here for appointment and they still have me waiting in lobby for 2 hours and they said lets just get the paper work done we can handle everything else with fixing up car after you buy it because you on warranty now they trying to wait until my warranty is up so they aren't responsible for the lemon I'm looking in to lawyers to sue them read more

I am so disappointed with this dealership and the unacceptable/unprofessional service that was rendered to us. Although we do not have perfect credit (just being honest and upfront here) and Mike was able to get us into a vehicle, my husband and I were lied to and that is not acceptable! Before we signed the paperwork for a 2012 Volkswagon Routan and before we looked at the vehicle we specifically told both Mike and Steve that the vehicle needed to have a working entertainment center as we were moving out of state and had 5 children who needed to be entertained. (We told them this several times!) This was the only reason we agreed on this vehicle. They told us several times that they understood and would make sure that it was fixed. I am almost certain that they knew this vehicle was not working properly. They also told my husband and I that they would get the DVD player looked and fixed. We shared that we were moving out of town and needed this issue resolved ASAP. We took our van down to the dealership and they said to give them 7 days. We gave them 7 days and were now told by both Mike and Steve that no one touched the vehicle for entire week nor was it even looked at!!! They gave us a loaner car knowing we have a family of 7! We have had to fill up the vehicle when we could have been using that money for our own vehicle! Steve the finance manager and Mike the sales person promised us that he would take care of it and they did not. This was before we signed the paperwork. They tried to offer $200 before we signed and we said no because it would cost way more than that. I am almost confident that they knew something was wrong, hence why they are not wanting to correct the issue. Knowing that we were leaving out of town and that time was valuable at this time, something should have been done. They had the nerve to ask us for more time knowing we needed to leave on schedule! At this time, we are leaving this review due to their unprofessionalism and lack of communication on their part. Please be careful doing business with this place. They are not honest and they do not stand behind their word. We are very honest and hard working individuals and the way they have went about this situation is ridiculous and unacceptable! This is not the way you do business nor is it the way you treat your new customers. UPDATE: (6/26/2018) They still didn't do anything and whatever work they offered to do would still delay our moving. We accepted the mere $250 check they offered to get our dvd players and will get it fixed ourselves once we arrive at our new place but will not be referring anyone to this business! If you're looking for a used car please stay far away from Basic Auto Sales. I am pretty sure everyone's experience is different but mine was horrible. The customer service was not great to say the least. I was approved for 12000 dollars and was sent a letter showing my loan approval. When I went to Basic Auto Sales to check out the car I was approved for ,the car was not even in the lot. I walked into this small dusty office and was not greeted. The salesman sitting there just looked at me until I spoke and told him who I was. Even after that he was just down right rude. After five minutes he came back with my credit app and loan approval which was over 5 thousand dollars less than what I was originally sent a letter stating I was approved for. The salesman Bobby Smith had different excuses as to why the numbers changed. And to top it off he tried to ask me for a huge down payment on a lemon. Please stay far away from Basic Auto Sales. No matter how credit challenged you are, you can still save up and go to a bigger car dealership and get approved for a car with a warranty And I'm sure the customer service will be much better. The Basic Auto Sales on west broad street is AWESOME! The one in Ashland I wouldn't go back to PERIOD. So i got a 2016 Nissan Altima and the transmission went out in a year. Was told by Kevin that he was going to look into getting a goodwill claim filed. I haven't heard anything about it being processed or if it got denied. I called them up and Kevin was always in a Magical meeting that seems to only occur when i call. When Speaking to Stan it was like he wanted me off the phone real quick so he gave a lot of short answers and bullshit answers. My car sat for 3 weeks with me not hearing from anyone. Then i called to inform them that a tow truck was coming to get the car and Kevin hung up in my face. I have no intentions on going to Basic in Ashland for any reason. The Basic Auto on west Broad Mike and Ken, and E. Spindle worked wonders for me and hooked me up with a new whip and faster service. Just awful! Started looking online, the car I was interested in was already sold. Took them weeks to even take it off their online inventory. No one bothered to greet us when we walked in. Bought a 2008 Chrysler Town and Country Touring from them. They failed to get a copy of my husbands ID when we got the car, which caused us getting dropped from one lender. They went through a second lender, and failed to send in our proof of insurance. Took me well over 2 weeks to get in contact with anyone to figure out where to send my payment it was then I was told that the information was missing. They had no contact info for me to be able to get ahold of my lender to pay it. In fact when I finally got ahold of my lender they were the ones who told me what the problem was with the proof of insurance. The woman I talked to finally straightened it out, it was in the folder. Had to get 2 temporary tags, because they didn't send my stuff out to DMV for my tags or plates. Checked the Carfax report the vehicle was fine, no major problems. Well took it to the mechanics last week, all four of my breaks are shot, the left back break is totally gone, need new rotors, brake pads, valves. The wrong size tires are on it, finally got the right size. The check engine light came on for the first few weeks every time I pumped gas. When trying to get in contact with Barry then higher ups about problems with the car, I was hung up on, never called back, or given the run around. The only helpful people where the women I talked to when there were problems with my husbands ID and the proof of insurance. I talked to one once, when I called back to check with her I was told she was no longer with them. Same goes for the woman I spoke to who fixed the proof of insurance. I called to see if my plates where in to be told they hadn't been ordered yet but they would be ordered that day. After a week of hearing nothing I called to see if the plates where in and was told yes. I asked them to mail them to me, I had 2 weeks on my temporary tags left. When I hadn't gotten the plates after a week and a half I called to ask what was going on to be told "oh we have the plates they were never mailed." Ended up having to pick them up from the dealership. I had a 90 day 4k warranty on the powertrain, could never get a hold of their service area to get my van in to check it. Just awful! The salesmen are very rude. I wouldn't go to them again for another vehicle. Nor would I recommended them to anyone else for a vehicle. I don't understand how they are still in business, I don't know if it was because I am a young woman who went in by herself or what, cause the couples and gentlemen I saw in there looking for cars seemed to be having a good experience. Cant stress how bad this place is and the salesmen are. Please don't go there, go to another place. A bigger place if you will. read more
