I (mom) used to come here with one of 3 kids when my one child is in their music class, next door, to look for comics. My son started getting into comic so we would come on occasion. The last 2 times were extremely terrible service. The first time, I was literally yelled at and belittled when I was asking about a comic and if was appropriate for my child because we were planning on buying several for his friend (I went across the street to the place where they explained they have rating and explained them to me). This time, we were the only people inside and I needed help finding a certain comic for his friends birthday. I asked the guy fixing the shelf if he worked there because I needed help. He literally said, "The thing is, I'm busy and can't right now. " so we left. We're going back to the other place. They have a good selection but be prepared to be told off. This is a pretty big store. They have lots of current comics around the store, I didn't quite get there organization though, only thing I could come up with was they have the different comic book company's separated (ie Marvel, DC, Image, etc). They also have variants along the back wall and a large number of kids comics (which is good to get kids into reading). I asked if they had older back issues and they do but they keep them locked up and will only be shown by the owner. I was there when the owner was not there so I didn't get to see if they had any back issues I'd like, I'll have to come back. Overall decent size store but only half is dedicated to comics, the other half is for card collections. read more

If you do not have self-control, do not come here. They are full of amazing amounts of comics, cards, and table tops. I had to limit myself on what I would pay, and I still want to come back... BTW I live about two hours away. Totally worth it though. read more

best comic store im the antelope valley. an insane selection on everything you can think of. they allow you to put an entire series of comics on hold but you have to be sure to go back and purchase. saves you the time of having to constantly go back to see if they got the newest comic in yet. 10/10 read more

came in here because i needed plastic sleeves (for photos) and you would think staples or Michaels would have stuff like that lol but they dont. my coworker told me a comic book store would have sleeves so i came in and they had what i needed. its a nice size location and very friendly guy in the front. thanks bases cards and comics! read more

This is probably the best card shop I have been to. We are baseball card people. The staff are honest and knowledgeable. Always stocked with plenty of sleeves and top-loaders of many varieties. Also carry consignment cards. A must stop if you are in the area. read more

Rob and James are Awesome. Bases is, without a doubt, the best Comic & Cards Shop in the AV. The store is amazing and the customer service can't be beat anywhere. I moved away and James took the time to call me and let me know a comic my family was into was back in print. The fact that they kept me in mind after moving away is out of this world. This has been my comic book shop of choice through four locations! James and Robbie are great! They have the best selection around, their prices are reasonable, and they host gaming events there on a regular basis. The current location is a little hard to find the first time, but worth the search. It is clean, well lit, decorated with the coolest of sports and comic memorabilia. They have always made the extra effort to find me whatever item or issues I requested. I just came from buying my nephew a few issues of one of the me Star Wars titles. James was extremely helpful, and made sure to let us know that he might have the first issue of the series in the back. I went in today with my oldest and man we stood there for the longest time just looking! I was impressed with just how many different comics they did have, but posters and action figures. This place is and always has been one of the most customer friendly locations in the Valley! The service is beyond excellent. I have never had a bad trip to get gaming supplies, cards, or sports memorabilia. I can not say enough. I have been going to bases since the early 2000's and I am happy to continue the tradition with my son collecting baseball cards. Hands down one of my favorite shops to go to. The prices are competitive and justifiable considering the service you receive. I hope they are around for as long as I live and then some. read more

I grew up reading comics and wanted to introduce my son to a better "pasa tiempo" than just staring at screen. This is a nice place. It has a good selection of my favorite comic books and some new ones that seemed interesting. However, my son was more interested in the games they sell Magic card figures. There was a tournament or something getting ready to start when we visited and people were getting excited. I'm giving this place a 4 and not a 5 because I'm more old school I think they should focus more on comics (like other stores) and have more vintage things (but thats just me...) read more

they have Cards and Comics. no personality. no friendly customer service. over pricing for credit card use. I am new to comics and I couldn't have went to a more unfriendly cold environment. I would not recommend this place. I would say to anyone shopping for anything comic related I would go to a different store. there are a couple more comic book stores in the valley. I suggest checking them out and making up your own mind. as for me all my business goes to a local comic book shop just around the corner from this big cold store full of empty spaces. if you haven't already and you are really in the comic books and collectibles you should broaden your horizons. check out the shop a block away read more

Love this place. Used to buy collectible cards (coke, norman rockwell, a few others) years ago. Hubby buys an occasional pack of hockey cards and other hockey collecting paraphernalia (sleeves, cases). They have lots of comic books and all kinds of collectible cards. Nice store and wonderful owners... and Jim. He's the best. AND! There's a geocache there, too. So many ways to have fun all in one place. read more

Great selection of comics. All the new stuff and some old. I'm not into Magic / D&D type stuff but they've got a ton of card games. Not the greatest selection of sports cards but better than most shops. Some action figures as well. Just an awesome comic book store with friendly staff and glad to know it. read more

Bases Cards and Comics is a wonderful cards and comic spot for all ages. The environment is always very friendly and welcoming and prices are very fair. Bases also hosts weekly tournaments for different card games which always include healthy fun competition and great prizes. James and Tim are always very helpful and knowledgable about their merchandise and are shining examples of great customer service. Rob, the owner, is also very attentive to detail and outgoing which really completes the pleasant nature of this store. 10/10 would not go to another card and comic store while Bases is around. read more
