Enter Lafayette Dental Excellence. Dr. Leo, Jane, Mary, and Barb are everything I'd hoped to find, but never thought I would. Dr. Leo excels in the traits I value most in a dentist: patience, attention to detail, and outstanding knowledge of the most up-to-date advances in dentistry - in addition to foundational knowledge from experience, of course. Oh and, of equal import, compassion for my terror of anything remotely related to dental issues. Dr. Leo's assistant, Jane, could not be more kind and efficient. Mary, the office manager, is incredibly knowledgeable as well, so kind (must be a prerequisite for the office), and just fun to talk to - even in the midst of a painful dental emergency. Not sure why I have an appointment to be on a waiting list with and unknown of when I can get my cleaning and exam. March 2026 would have put me at 15 months from my previous cleaning. I had an awful experience with a dental group in Broomfield which left me never wanting to visit a dental office AGAIN. Sheri at the front desk made me feel right at home, so much so, I didn't even need to visit the office first before telling my friends they needed to hop on this train. They have a super easy online application option that was much less laborious than other crap applications I am used to completing with dental. The industry is still working on coming out of the dark ages so I really appreciated this! Spoiler alert- my intuition was right on! The office is beautiful, high tech, clean and oh so welcoming. No bleach beige hospital feels here. The beautiful aquarium full of tropical fish had me wanting to hang out all day. Dr. Wehking met me in the waiting area within a few minutes of check-in and gave me a tour of the office. Each room is carefully decorated to make you feel like you're in your trendier home away from home. Everyone had a gorgeous smile on their face and seemed to genuinely LOVE what they were doing, what a concept. There were beautiful mature plants in the rooms which is just so refreshing to see and a stark contrast from what I have been used to. Everything about the energy in that office put me at ease. Dr. Wehking and her staff were ultra thorough with their examination and charting. They took more rads and photos than I have ever had during any appointment, it really made me feel like no stone was being left unturned. It was obvious to me that the standard of care here exceeds today's "normal dental standards". I was never made to feel rushed and at no point did I feel that I was being sold on anything or just another number coming through the door. Anastasia, my hygienist, was amazing. She was clearly passionate about what she does and gave me a bunch of easy, quick tips that no one has ever bothered to share with me before. It's true, as another reviewer mentioned, that you might come in and then have to make extra appointments. I think that depends on the staff available and what other patients need, and perhaps if one's appointment is on a weekend (I was there this time on Saturday and will come back for my fillings in 2 weeks). I went in last year, however, and needed molar extraction, which they did on the spot -- painlessly, I might add! They also have a great credit partner in Cherry Credit, so that was a real plus as well. Along those same lines of finances, I find them to be the most non-pushy dental office I've been to, offering the various options of treatment, and then respecting the patient's decisions on that. All in all, all staff---front desk to hygienists to the DDS staff--are exceptional, and I never dread going to the dentist now.
