I am 61 and terrified of dentists, have been since Dustin Hoffman and Sir Laurence Olivier scared the you-know-what out of me in the movie MARATHON MAN! "Is it safe?" Anyway, you get the picture, I loathe the thought of going to orthodontists, endodondists or any dental MD. I had to go for an old root canal that had somehow gotten infected underneath after many years. From the second I read about this practice, I felt that I would be pain-free the entire process and indeed, I was...Dr P knows how to numb and boy did he numb me, I felt nothing. This was my second time using the services of Dr. Paguio. Let's face it, if you're seeing an endodontist, you're probably in pain, desperate to get help, and feeling pretty vulnerable. in that situation, it's pretty hard to feel trusting, but the professionalism and competence I encountered here completely assuaged my fears. His staff was fantastic at offering comfort and support, and even though I'm not an endodontist it is obvious that his work is top-notch. He is careful, courteous, patient, and seems to approach his practice as a true art. His attention to detail is obvious and he clearly takes great pride in being the best. They are just wonderful. I'd never even had cavity when suddenly 29 years after a traumatic tooth injury, the nerve in my front tooth died and I very quickly needed a root canal because of the level of pain I was experiencing. I was in constant pain and they got me in the next morning following my diagnosis with my regular dentist for the procedure. Dr. Paguio went out of his way to make me feel comfortable, educated me on my options, walked me through the insurance coverage and out of pocket costs, and finally even offered to let me watch the procedure with the televisions mounted on the ceiling if I wanted (hard pass, but thanks!). I was a little nervous about the procedure itself, but they made me feel so comfortable with them that I was able to easily relax. The procedure itself was quick and painless. He's very attentive to how you're feeling through it all, physically and emotionally, and explains what he's doing as you go if you want to know. They were also great at explaining what I should anticipate in the following days - something I really appreciated having never even had a cavity before. My follow-up appointment was just as seamless, even though there was a discrepancy on when I was supposed to be there - they still got me in to convenience my schedule and had me out in under a half hour. Long story short, take care of your teeth, kids, so you never actually have to meet these folks in that capacity (said in the nicest and most sincere way possible). Haha. I came to Art of Endodontics in tears this past week after receiving some pretty drastic dental news from another practice the day before; it was completely out of the blue, very upsetting, and it created a whirlwind of anxiety for me. I found Art of Endo online and decided to reach out and try to get a second opinion before I went through with any major dental work. Dr. Paguio came in after hearing my story and seeing my tears and was compassionate, understanding, encouraging, and everything I needed in that moment. I had a list of questions that I had brought in to hopefully get answers to, and he pulled up a chair and answered every one of them for me! I can't even begin to tell you how much I needed to feel seen and heard after my experience the day before. It had been so traumatic for me. But Dr. P had such a calming, genuine presence and assured me everything was going to be okay. He also had a completely different perspective and more wholesome approach to dental work/teeth and it seemed much more logical to me. I was so happy that I came in! I have the misfortune of having less than stellar teeth, so I've spent more than my fair share of time in a dentist's chair. I've had numerous crowns, an implant and several root canals. I've even had one root canal retreated. Nothing to brag about for sure, but my point is I've seen a lot of different dentists and had a lot of dental treatment. I can easily say that Dr. Paguio is the best! His calm and friendly demeanor makes you aware of his expertise and he does an excellent job. For anyone that is worried about getting their first root canal, do yourself a favor and make an appointment with Art of Endodontics. The procedure was completely painless from start to finish and my tooth already feels so much better, even just two days out! From the first call I was impressed with his staff's down to earth and kind nature. His assistant is super friendly (sorry, I don't remember her name) and his office staff also handled all the hassle of insurance forms and claims. His office space is just immaculate and very nicely decorated. His equipment is the latest and greatest and you can even watch the procedure in real time on a flat screen monitor positioned above your head. I thought that was cool, but I'm sure some people would rather not see what's going on! LOL Obviously, I'm hoping I never need another root canal, but if I do - I know where I'm going! I never thought I would find myself writing a review regarding Dental procedures, however I am compelled to share a great experience I had with a skilled Endodontist! Dr Emmanuel Paguio at Art of Endodontics has done two re-treats that were abscesses and one was rather complicated as pieces of files were left in the canals. He recently did another root canal on a tooth that was previously filled, needed treatment and very painful! I'm not new to root canals and my experiences in the past have lead to an extraction post root canal along with other painful experiences. Dr Paguio should be your dr if you need a root canal. This is his expertise! He is a great communicator with a calm voice and you immediately feel at ease. He will explain everything in language you will understand. He will listen to your concerns and you will feel and be his priority. He is empathetic and gentle. You can even watch the procedure while he's doing it. The procedure was painless with the exception of a small pinch from the shot but that being said I've had many dental procedures and he's quick and an expert! It was not painful and I did not need more than an ibuprofen post treatment. Dr. Paguio gave me clear instructions following the procedure and he checked in the following day. The office staff is also knowledgeable and very well organized. Crystal is his dental assistant and you will immediately like her. I would highly recommend. Had a root canal re-treatment done. It took two visits to get rid of the infection. Dr. Paguio explains everything that he's about to do. I am normally not the type to leave reviews on places even though I read them myself before making a decision (I know, I know...). However, the experience I had at the Art of Endo is more than necessary and worthy to break that chain. I decided to wait an entire week after the procedure so that you get the full experience from day 1 to the current. I was informed by my dentist that I needed a root canal (something no dental patient ever wants to hear, ever). I've heard the horror stories about how painful it is, how uncomfortable it is, etc. However, the experience at the Art of Endo was completely the opposite. Upon arriving to the office, I was nervous. I was worried about the procedure, because I am a larger guy than most and I have had experiences where the anesthetic have worn off during the procedure. The women working the front desk were extremely friendly and nice, which was great to experience upon first arriving. The friendliness and courtesy doesn't end there, the assistant for the procedure who walked me to the room where the procedure would be done continued the experience even further doing the x-ray and making sure I was comfortable. She was amazing during the procedure as well although I do not remember her name. Dr. Paguio arrived and you could tell from the moment he spoke that he was not the typical doctor that fed you the pre-fabricated "Hello, how are you doing?" He actually spent time getting to know me and we discovered that we were both from Michigan. We spent the first few minutes conversing about the current state and how it was in the past, what brought us out here, etc. This was another great mood lifter and helped me feel further at ease as well as reassuring me that I was in good hands. While applying the anesthetics, he was not stingy or conservative with the amount. He frequently quoted "there is no ration here" - he literally did everything and anything in his power to make sure I was comfortable during the procedure and he did not seem rushed at all. The actual procedure went flawless; it really could not have gone any better. Walking out of the place I was angry at myself for being so worried for absolutely nothing. While the doctor and the staff prescribed two antibiotics to assist with pain, to date I have not had to take a single one. Even when the numbness wore off I have only had to take the antibiotic to prevent infection. To date, I still cannot believe how amazing the process, procedure, and outcome turned out. I'm scheduled to see my dentist in a couple days to get the temporary crown replaced with a permanent one and the first thing I'm doing when walking in there is giving the dentist a high-five for a stellar recommendation to see the Art of Endo for the root canal. I know that I will have to get some more work done in the future, and there is not a single reason that I can see where I would go anywhere else other than this office. I was sent two recommendations from my dentist to Endodontics offices. The first one I called was extremely helpful. Explained that 3-D images were not covered under any insurance plan and that would be out of pocket for me. That office called me and told me 3-D scans would be $150 but my Delta of Colorado would only cover 50% of a root canal since they were out of network. I proceeded to call Art of Endo and they told me I was in network. I asked them to let me know approximately the prices I would be looking at. They told me they would call me back. They never called prior to appointment and once I was in the chair told me I would require a 3-D scan. My cost was $330! Plus a consultant fee of $35. I was furious they had never followed up to which Dr. P claimed he was the cheapest he knew of. Once I paid For the scan and found out the fracture was too complicated for him to 100% resolve I left. I called the Broomfield dr. I had previously spoken with to verify the price and was appalled to hear yet again that I over paid for the consult fee and more than double paid for the 3-D scan. Dr. P is highly recommended but his staff and their follow up cost me more than double what my local option would have. I would not recommend this office unless you want travel to 80th and Kipling to spend twice as much. read more
