Our server was very good. The place is beautiful inside however I expected the food to be a lot better with the cost we paid. I asked for my steak to be well done which I know a lot of people can either cook a fantastic fillet well done and others just can't do it. They burnt it to a crisp. The middle was tasty. The rest of it was not. They advertise garlic, mashed potatoes however, my potatoes came out cold, and there were lots of chunks in it. I wouldn't consider it mashed. My dinner partner had twin lobster tables, and he said it was quite tough and again expected it to taste a lot better for the price we paid. The server gave us a piece of free cheesecake due to my steak being severely overcooked. The restaurant is beautiful. I read all the reviews and I thought this would be a fantastic place for dinner. I was highly disappointed. I will return but next time I'll get Chicken and I'll re-review.

Okay -so for me -this was a nice family owned steakhouse --service was excellent !!! Food was tasty !!! Atmosphere like an upstate New York hunting style restaurant (my perception). Seemed to be a crowd of all kinds. The drink specials and menu specials were terrific. We got tomahawk and lobster appetizer with mashed potatoes and mushrooms: yummy.

Wow! Bascom's is now our personal favorite steakhouse in Clearwater. We went to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and this place hit every mark with flying colors. Let's start off with getting reservations, it was beyond easy to do through their online reservation system. Parking was beyond easy too no charge and we were able to get a front row spot on a Friday night! Now moving on to the food, we started off with the Wagyu Carpaccio which was amazing. I'm not one to try anything raw but I highly recommend getting it! It was paired with garlic butter and arugula salad. My only wish was that there were 6 slices of the bread crisps instead of 4 because the pieces were so small we ended up eating the meat by itself. Still it was delicious! Next we each ordered a steak accompanied by sides and wow! I got the filet mignon and my boyfriend got the New York strip both medium rare. For our sides, I got the salad and mashed potatoes and he got the Mac n cheese. The mashed potatoes were some of the best I've had and the Mac n cheese was rich and creamy. The salad even had a great Italian vinaigrette it was tossed in. Lastly, dessert was the icing on the cake literally and figuratively lol! We got the flourless chocolate cake and it was one of the best restaurant desserts I've had. In all seriousness, I am a very picky person when it comes to making a quality dessert and you could tell this has top tier ingredients. Overall, we will definitely be back and might even possibly make this our new anniversary spot since Timpanos in Hyde park really let us down last year. Thank you!

Another excellent experience. Booked for Christmas Eve on Open Table... Dan was an excellent server, as was his associate whose name I forgot. An extensive wine list, we were very satisfied with our choice ( a Pinot noir / Jen Wright Cellars). All food was delicious, from the French onion soup, to the rib eye which was melt in your mouth tender and flavorful, to the Chilean Sea Bass to the outstanding and my favorite thud meal, Seated Diver Scallops ( with a phenomenal beurre blanc and pomegranate reduction)...OMG! Crème brûlée was delicious as well. Great atmosphere. Need to dine here more often.

This is the second time I've visited this location and I have to say that it was an absolute hit each time. Bascom is known for their steaks but their drinks and the service is impeccable! The restaurant is old school but timeless and the staff is knowledgeable. The location was easy to find, wheelchair accessible and the parking wasn't complicated or a hassle at all. The food and drinks were amazing and we'll certainly be back!

Now I'm down to a two. I have never in all my dining experiences watched a restaurant prioritize one patron over an entire section. I spent my dinner listening to a man use vulgar language loudly without regard to others in the area. The wait staff heard him, one table requested to be moved, and even after we reported him, they allowed him to continue. A manager finally came over and asked which guy was it and said I'm going to stick around and see if I hear anything. I had seen him in the area before and again the entire wait staff could hear this guy, not to mention their waiter who continued to serve him drinks. What I know is that since I do not matter to this restaurant as a patron, I won't return. Go where you are valued and appreciated. Far too may steakhouses in the Tampa area.

Adding another 5-star raving review because Bascom's never misses! We go there for lunch and dinner, and my company does too. It's a total gem. The staff is amazing and they actually remember us. The food and service are great every single time. It's a fantastic experience overall. The cocktails are excellent, the bar is nice, the food is delicious, and the specials are unique. The parking lot is easy, and the whole place has a comfortable and cozy vibe. Very upscale but not uncomfortable upscale. Highly recommend!

This place looks like a cool "old school" steakhouse and that's one of the reasons why I love it . We tried the billionaire bacon and my dad loved it . I like the fact they have a few mocktails and I tried the no-spresso martini. Should be called espresso no-tini lol bc there definitely is espresso, it's so good. The steak was delicious and my mom loved her lamb chops. She's is usually picky and she never had to send it back to be cooked more, so that is a good sign! Our waiter was on top of it, def 5/5 stars for service. This might be a go- to in Clearwater

LOVE the French Onion Soup WOZA. A must order :)...
    Cheri Y.

Love Bascom's "Chop House & FRESH SEAFOOD." That's what the sign reads "Chop House Steaks & FRESH SEAFOOD" It's been way too hot in St Pete for heavy duty meat, steaks & potatoes. It's summer & in the summer, I eat FRESH SEAFOOD. Bascom's has the best Seafood selection. They do the best Wedge salad I have ever had. Add their Blackened SALMON it's a masterpiece. You must try it if you love Salmon like I do OuiOui. I have had it salt crusted as well it's also superb. The Salmon Florentine is usually a special, but it's also moi fave. I get it every time it's on the special menu. All three, Très magnifique OuiOui. One of the reasons Bascom's Salmon is so delicious is bc they get their salmon from Patagonia. They serve a very nice thick piece. Excellent quality Salmon. I have not found any better, yet. Bascom's also serves LOCAL FRESH GROUPER. The local grouper they serve here is WILD caught off Madeira Beach. Moi fave beach here also OuiOui. The Local grouper tacos are very yummy here as well as is the Local "Grouper Piccata." They serve the Piccata in a simple lemon butter white wine sauce. Simplistically gorgeous as it is delicious. The french onion soup here is the best on the planet. No one does it in the giant footed bowl like Bascom's. It has a 3 cheese gratin top & it's enormous. A MUST ORDER !!! :)... Way better than Berns in Tampa. Most of those people work here now anyway OuiOui. The oysters rockafella are also some of the best I have had. I have also added them to moi list of Fave oyster places OuiOui. The service here is just phenomenal. I have not had one bad service experience since I been coming here in almost a year now. Fall is coming quick, so i'm really excited to try the fall/winter menu & get into the Steaks & Lobsters that are just calling moi name.. Love that you can add any sauce like béarnaise, Hollandaise, Black garlic, etc., Cannot wait for the cooler weather so Moi can try them all with the filet & lobster OuiOui :)... The wine list is also superb with lots of amazing celebratory Champagnes. Christie (server) turned me onto the small pink bottle of sparkling rose. It's so pretty & so refreshing. Goes great with the seafood dishes & shrimp cocktail. Another MUST ORDER. You can order Bascom's online to go, you can drive right up to the front door & they bring your "to go foods" right out to your car window packaged beautifully. Sir Hubbers fave. Quality, professional service all around "la vie en rose" OuiOui. One of our favorite Restaurants in St Pete.. Added to moi lists of fave restaurants in St Pete/Tampa area, fave seafood places, fave oyster places, fave steaks & fave salade places. Highest Recommendations.

Let me say the food, service, and ambience were all fabulous. My Son from Philly was with me and he dines in Manhattan's fine steakhouses like Rugers, etc. But I was hungry for Prime Rib or a great steak. My Son was very skeptical but quickly changed his mind. I got Prime Rib which was just phenomenal. My Son had their Japanese A5 Wagu steak and said he just loved it. Our sides of Creamed Spinach, Shrimp Cocktail, French Onion Soup, Lobster Bisque were all terrific, and we had Key Lime Pie for dessert which we didn't need LOL! Our Lady server was a sweet heart. I wish I could remember her name but I had a procedure done at the hospital and still was recovering from anesthesia. If you are a well done person don't go there as their steaks are too good to be ruined.

Came here for an 80th birthday dinner and had a good experience. This is a fantastic place to host a large group. Servers are very friendly and accommodating. Food was average though but still good. This is a huge restaurant.

A little late in reviewing.... Went Feb 24, 2026 for a family Birthday party. Not our first time here and hopefully not our last. Started with the Shrimp cocktail ice cold, crisp & fresh. Our main meals .. prime rib ( king) exceptionally tasty, seasoned well and soo tender ... "A plus" on that one . A double cut pork chop & onion straws again excellent, tender and juicy.. perfect. Another delicious meal was the Filet Mignon again very tender, tasty and awesome. Two of us shared the tomahawk ribeye, was ok not awesome requested rare got medium rare , flavor adequate also not as tender as it should have been. Needless to say a bit disappointed. Sides grilled asparagus very good, broccolini with smoked Gouda again very good, no issues. Our third side dish Smoked Gouda Mac and cheese was just ok, little salty, Smokey and just didn't taste good to our liking. On another note the white sangria was awesome and the smoked old fashioned exceptional. Service was remarkably, our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable ( name?.. too many sangrias maybe) overall had a good experience. Only issues we had. .....1st. Noise level in the small space, we all had a hard time connecting / socializing. 2nd the tables are much too close to each other. Other than that it was a good meal but not awesome. Anyway it is locally owned and operated... that's a big plus.

Some of the best food and drinks we've ever had. The truffle Mac is to die for!!! It's definitely expensive but worth every penny.

The restaurant is located behind the German club on 66th Street, a second business in the German club parking lot! Apparently, the family that has his place is from Maine and they got a lot of success brewing beer. That's success led them to start the restaurant serving seafood from a family business in Maine. We started off with a bowl of New England clam chowder and a dozen oysters. To what are whistles we got a glass of their tap Chardonnay and a beer. My wife's Chardonnay was ridiculously good! But nothing could beat those oysters - sweet with a little bit of brine, and very fresh. For dinner we got a lobster roll - they come hot or cold, with the hot coming with melted butter. We also got the fried haddock roll.... Wow! Both were fantastic! I know we overdid it with dinner.... We even got an order of the whole belly clams. I didn't think anyone in Florida served those down here! Absolutely ridiculous . In short, we had fantastic dinner and terrific beverages. I really recommend you at least try to find the place - we almost didn't go in because of its awkward location and the fact that no cars were outside. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in consistency and presentation. The portions were generous, and there was something on the menu for everyone. What really stood out was the overall vibe, comfortable, clean, and perfect for either a casual meal or watching a game. We'll definitely be coming back.

This is a reminder for future Christina to specify the dressing…read more As always, I got the kale salad with blackened shrimp. The amount of candied nuts and cheese makes it delicious and not feeling like I'm depriving myself. This time they didn't ask me what dressing I wanted and brought blue cheese on the side. It was honestly a bit of a weird choice for a kale salad. It wasn't bad, and I'm sure I could have asked for a vinaigrette that would have tasted better, but I figured I'd just roll with it. Next time I should be proactive and ask them what dressings they gave so I can request one that's a vinaigrette. I thought the parking lot looked packed but it was only the first row closest to the street. I parked farther away for no reason so next time I should drive down another aisle. It was pretty busy on a Tuesday night, but no issues getting a table for seven. It's your standard sports bar but it's definitely above average.

Felt sorry for the bartender who should've charged $10 for each of the 20 shirley temples she had to dish out to the kids of parents who were drinking and not minding their kids manners. Man, I don't hand out 1 star reviews often or lightly, but this place blows. The service was lame,…read morethe food was below average and the wait time was excessive. 4:30 PM on a Saturday evening. The bar was fairly busy with folks drinking and one other person eating. We bellied up, ordered 2 brews, an order of mild chicken wings and a medium classic burger, which was just meat, cheese, lettuce, tomato and onion. I wanted a different burger, but the prices were crazy high. The basic freaking classic burger was $10.50. After 20 minutes of waiting, we asked where our food was. The bartender went to check on it and returned roughly five minutes later. Unapologetic, he handed us our food. I cut my burger in half, and the damn thing was beyond well done, but since we were in a bit of a rush and hungry, I just ate the thing. First bite was crunchy because the edges of the burger were actually burnt. Nothing made up for the $10.50 price either. It wasn't a particularly large burger, it was dry, there was little-to-no seasoning and the bun was far from fresh. I mean, it's been a really long time since I felt so gypped. I ate half, got the rest to go and we bounced. I would have mentioned the ill-cooked burger had the bartender ever came back around to ask how the food was. Seriously, I wouldn't recommend eating here. There are much better options nearby, like Burger King and Moe's.
