Man, I don't hand out 1 star reviews often or lightly, but this place blows. The service was lame, the food was below average and the wait time was excessive. 4:30 PM on a Saturday evening. The bar was fairly busy with folks drinking and one other person eating. We bellied up, ordered 2 brews, an order of mild chicken wings and a medium classic burger, which was just meat, cheese, lettuce, tomato and onion. I wanted a different burger, but the prices were crazy high. The basic freaking classic burger was $10.50. After 20 minutes of waiting, we asked where our food was. The bartender went to check on it and returned roughly five minutes later. Unapologetic, he handed us our food. I cut my burger in half, and the damn thing was beyond well done, but since we were in a bit of a rush and hungry, I just ate the thing. First bite was crunchy because the edges of the burger were actually burnt. Nothing made up for the $10.50 price either. It wasn't a particularly large burger, it was dry, there was little-to-no seasoning and the bun was far from fresh. I mean, it's been a really long time since I felt so gypped. I ate half, got the rest to go and we bounced. I would have mentioned the ill-cooked burger had the bartender ever came back around to ask how the food was. Seriously, I wouldn't recommend eating here. There are much better options nearby, like Burger King and Moe's. read more

This pub is such a good time! Even when you come by your self the bar tenders make you feel at home which is nice for those who travel often. I stay at the holiday inn there all the time and the reason I do is specifically because of this pub. Alicia is absolutely amazing!! She works so hard to please everyone and keep them all happy and her drinks are perfect! The rest of the crew is amazing too (Anthony, Sean, Bruce). The first day I had a Reed Donkey APA Draft & Cheese Quesadilla The second day I had Maduro Brown Draft & Cheese Quesadilla The third day I had Jai Alai Draft, Invasion IPA Draft, & Fish Tacos. The Cheese Quesadilla's were very good. They were very flavorful. The Fish Tacos I felt had no flavor at all. All I tasted was water. The service was good. The one day it was busy there was only one person on a random Monday. He still got the food out in a reasonable time. I mean it's a bit pricy and the menu is limited, but it's a Hotel Tavern. As I walked through the lobby starving and tired after a day at the races I looked around desperate for respite. The closest place to feed lied in a hotel bar full of friendly coastguards in uniform. I looked at the menu and instantly thought it was overpriced, but if you charge over ten bucks for a basic burger across from Burger King it's gotta be good. Ordered wings as well and proceeded to wait half an hour. After missing the sunset and drinking lots of beer, it was all crappy. Never coming back, and now have an active hatred of this place. Came into Tampa to make a business presentation, and found this great little place right in my hotel. Well, it sure made my overnight stay much more enjoyable than I had expected! I had the Southwest chopped salad. It was great. Also enjoyed sampling the local beers. My servers were friendly and helpful, and I met some sociable chaps at the bar. Had my choice of watching eight TVs on the walls. Listened to some good rock and roll playing in the background (not too loud, thank you). About the only thing missing was seeing movie stars. It's a typical hotel bar. Holiday Inn. Pluses: helpful and friendly bar staff. Clean. Reasonable prices. Close proximity to local hotels along Ulmerton Road. If you're looking for a beer while watching a game, it works. Minuses: The food is tiresome and uninspired. Pub-type menu made by a mass-production kitchen. If you are staying at one of the local hotels, eat somewhere else and then drop in for a nightcap. For that, it does a great job. read more

This place was awful. Staff was beyond rude and we didn't even get a chance to get waited on. We sat a table for a extremely long time before we saw any staff other than bar tender that never even looked in our direction. Husband asked the gentleman if he could check on a football game for us to watch on one of the TVS. He shrugged his shoulders and said ok. Then he walked away and never came back. I visit with a group of locals who work for one of the largest companies in the area. We visit weekly for happy hour. The staff (Bruce and Alicia) are always friendly, attentive and keep things lively. Chef Adam has created some tasty food selections (nice hummus plate, flatbreads and grilled shrimp apps) and aims to please. They have a decent draft beer selection, games for kids and a room that absorbs the sound so you can still hear yourself think. A nice way to transition from work...see you again soon!!! read more

Came on a Wednesday to check out the karaoke, eat and drink. Ordered the open face prime rib sandwich which was the special and the flatbread pizza. It took 50 minutes to get. Other people who came in after we ordered ate and left before we got our food. Bartender was also a little slow on second drinks. However the food was very good.
