I brought to Talcot Transmissions in West Hartford and they charged me $145 to "diagnose" it. They claimed the transmission needed to be removed and completely rebuilt for and additional cost of $5600. I had doubts whether all the work was needed so I brought the truck to AAMCO of East Hartford. At AAMCO Steph did a free check and diagnosed a problem with the solenoid pack. The problem was repaired with new parts and works great (for $1525 including tax). Thanks to AAMCO and no thanks to Talcot Transmissions.

Went to three places for estimates. Capitol was in the middle. My decision was based on a small list . They treated my daughter extremely well when she brought the car down. Very clean office and made her comfortable during visit. The three year warranty is very solid and reassuring. I recently had the front end of my 2016 Honda Accord inspected after replacing my tire. Jeremy reported that the struts were original and worn but not blown or leaking. Although replacement was not absolutely necessary, he noted doing so could improve ride quality and handling. I opted for the improved handling. He also reported that the front brakes were causing shimmy so I followed his recommendation and replaced the pads and rotors. And the second time I had my 2011 Chevy HHR with 2.4 auto with that one I didn't have a torque converter clutch it was highly recommended that I actually just switch out the whole transmission as well because of the metal shavings getting into the transmission.
