I used a concierge service who recommended Barton G.'s as an idea adjacent to a theme dining request. The food presentation at Barton G. in Miami was totally over the top. ...they were spot on with the presentation being unique. I've never seen anything like it, nor do I expect to again for that matter. The entree or appetizer food itself wasn't that amazing, but the way it was served was second to none. (Although, the macaroni and cheese was really rich and full of cheesy flavor.) We did enjoy being out on the garden patio where we could hear ourselves in a conversation. Inside was nice, but much louder and energetic. The price was noted as $$$ price. The total for three of us with one cocktail each, two entress, two appetizers and an outrageous dessert called "Dolla, Dolla, Bills Yo." or something like that was $317. They included an 18% gratuity even for 3 people (I think that is common for the area.) and did not include the $17 valet fee. I don't think it will be a more than once in a lifetime experience, but for that - it was a good one. Highlights: - The nitrogen Tequila cocktail served with a real piñata to accompany. - A second smoking cocktail that had a chocolate monkey hanging off the side. - Two sliders that came with a full size baseball bat and a souviner cap. - The macaroni and cheese served on a giant mouse trap with a slice of cheese. ...like it was designed for Mickey Mouse himself. - I had something called Voodoo Shrimp Rolls that for all I know, had actual Voodoo in it. - The dessert that had chocolate cake with gooey vanilla frosting dipped in a perfect gold bar shape. Oh and that's not all - vanilla ice cream dipped in white chocolate shaped like a good nugget right out of the California gold mines. It was served on a plate that made it look like bank robbers not chefs made the course. ..and to boot, the server donned a welding mask and torch to warm the dessert. - The bill being presented in an envelope that is printed with the word "THE DAMAGE" on the front. ...even that presentation was cool. The place is a cross between a high class feeling experience along with the most unique presentation that makes you smile like children. Bring your camera. read more

Disclaimer: I visited this restaurant about two years ago. It is possible that things have changed since then.. though I doubt it. It was alright. The Lobster Poptarts tasted pretty good and the drinks were actually very nice. Some of the other food/presentation me and my girlfriend ordered were kind of..eh. The way they present their food is definitely interesting but...the "experience" doesn't quite seem worth it imo. Hands down the worst dining experience in my whole life. Don't waste your time or money. We had reservations yet the wanted to sit us in the walkway. I think that's rude and a very uncomfortable experience so i asked to move. The next option wasn't much better and to get in and out we had to swipe our butts on the tables on each side of us, again not a great experience. We decided to try outside, and that was the worst. I don't know how an establishment offers outdoor dining but don't mind you getting eaten alive my bugs. I had the most memorable and best experience ever. It was my girlfriends 23rd birthday and I wanted to find a restaurant that would treat her like a Queen. And Barton G did just as that. If you're coming to Barton G expect to pay over $50. The food is delicious. You can go to so many other places with good food and honestly the presentation is not worth the wait. I wish I had picked another place for my birthday. We had a reservation and we were immediately seated. the server came and explained a little about the special menu. it was great presentation, we ended up ordering the lobster Mac and Cheese, chicken dish with carrot sauce and plums, and mixed lamb, beef and chicken. the food was absolutely amazing, service was great, I also had the buddhalicious drink and it was really sweet so I didn't really like it. we didn't get dessert bc the food was a lot and we weren't even able to finish it. I Highly highly recommend going to this restaurant because its a great experience. Yes, it is a bit on the pricy side but they work hard to present things well. the food didn't take that long to be ready. Such a cool experience that you're paying for, so be swear there will be Damage done. But honestly this is a really cool place to celebrate a birthday or important event! I wish my server could have been more involved in this experience to make it better, I went with my boyfriends to celebrate his promotion at work and I guess the server took us as young broke under-tippers and didn't mentions any of the specials they had like the server next to our table explained and was very slow with service, not giving us much attention. First - Note the $$$$. Don't be shocked that a martini is $28. Second - If you're pretentious, hipster "jaded" or look for the name of the farm where your heirloom ugly tomato was grown - STAY AWAY. We had a group of 14 for my dad's 75th birthday so they require the fixed menu. The food portions are huge and are a show within itself. From the drinks to the food, they all have their own themes. Due to the prices I would recommend this for special occasions only. We went there for our Anniversary and we loved it. It's all about the presentation here without compromising taste. Everything we had from apps to dessert was delicious. We started out with the lobster tarts which were out of this world. Crunchy tarts filled with a creamy mix of lobster and some heavenly cheese or God knows what.For main course I had the Pork dish and wife had the sliders. The pork loin was cooked to perfectly tenderness but the sauce was a bit too sweet for my taste almost as if just tasted like BBQ sauce and nothing more but not horrible tasting either. My wife ordered the beef sliders and yes they come with a baseball hat as a gift and this huge prop but although pretty good, they were nothing out of this world. To finish off we ordered Antoinette Head and Funnel cake and these were exceptionally good. Funnel cake topped with some powder was soft and delicious. Antoinette Head was basically a manikin head topped with cotton candy and don't get me wrong this was good cotton candy but the award goes to the all so sweet and delicious shake that comes with it.
