I was not impressed. It was okay and I would come back, but I'm not obsessed. Service was good and quick. Guacamole is good and their fresh squeezed margaritas are awesome. Tacos were ok...definitely more of an appetizer and drinks restaurant. I wasn't impressed having dinner though. Still worth a try if you're curious. Atmosphere is good for a weekend night, lively and energetic :) read more

Bartaco - Definitely worth checking out .. I am from Miami and I trusted my gut that this place was good and it sure was! - Mexican Near Me - Tampa, Florida

We are so thrilled with the new concept and the fun ideas they've come up with that challenge Tampa eateries! We tried just about every taco until we busted out of our jeans! The ginger-green tea was amazing and comes in a full carafe! Loved the corn with cogito cheese and then, we moved onto dessert...chocolate pudding in a cup with whipped topping (WOW) and the freshest churros I've ever had with yummy chocolate sauce. PLEASE GO!! read more

Really good tacos and cocktails. But if you're looking for big tacos, this is not your taco joint. The tacos are delicious....like really really good. But one bite...two bite....no more bite. Aka, they're tiny. Which I suppose for some people that can be a good thing too, cause you get to try so many different types of tacos. The vibe of this place is on point as well. Definitely a south Tampa staple. read more

Amazing. Go here. Don't think twice. The food is so yummy and reasonably priced. The atmosphere is laid back and cute. It's perfect!

Why the three stars you ask? Lets dive into the review to get this question answered. Went here on a Tuesday night, so it being taco Tuesday it was pretty packed. I had to wait for my party to arrive so I went and sat at the bar and had a beer. The bartender was very friendly and helpful. She got me my beer quickly and checked on me at reasonable times. When my party arrived we moved to a table. Here our waiter explained the order process. We ordered the triple nacho appetizer. It consisted of two different sauces a red and a green. It also included a very small plate of guac. The chips for this is one circle chip that you break off into smaller chips. These were very tasty as the sauces were. Problem I had was the super small cup of guac that was given. We got somewhat confused with the ordering process since he did not mention that we should fill out the one card for the whole table. So we mistakenly filled out 5 different cards. When our order arrived they had missed 3 tacos we ordered. We did get an extra taco that we had not ordered and the waiter told us we could keep it. We then eventually got the tacos that had been missed. I had the baja fish taco which was delicious. Also had the falafel taco which had a little bit of spice, but was very tasty. I ordered the pork belly based on all other reviews but was left wanting more taste. My final taco was the chorizo which was really good. For desert I had coconut and chocolate gelato which were very tasty. The waiter did give us a little bit more of a portion on the gelatos for the taco mishap. Atmosphere was very loud that night which is understandable. Parking is a problem in this area for all restaurants but the plus is that all parking structures are free. I will not be coming back to bartaco. I think its more of a trendy place than the actual experience for food. read more

If you've never been they're going to assume you have. Sat there for like 15 minutes waiting for a serve only to find out they take your order by putting up a card flag thing. Had no idea. Other than that their tacos are perfect. The shrimp was supposed to be spicy but it really lacked any flavor at all. Pork belly tacos were the best. They're super small so anybody can do 3-4. And they offer tequila flights! Made up for everything! read more

I have been to this location several times, as well as others in the southeast. Upon entering, you are greeted by a tastefully designed interior with wood and beach accents. Ordering is completed by the customer on a sheet of paper that is then picked up by the knowledgeable staff. I have tried most of their tacos, which are a great value. My personal favorites are the baja fish, chicken pastor and roasted duck. Highly recommend for a quick lunch or date night. read more

Awesome drinks. Bartenders are amaze especially covey, anthony & dan!! Amazing drinks and food

covey and Anthony and Dan were incredible! Gave us the best experience ever, and made amazing drinks!!

THIS PLACE IS AMAZING! Anthony and Covey are the best bartenders there is. You must go and ask for them!! Always make it a fun time and so so friendly always!!! read more

I finally made it to Bartaco!!!!! First of all, I love how hip yet casual the atmosphere is. My friends and I came in for a late lunch during the week and had a really nice experience. The menu is mostly made of smaller tacos and I had a tough time choosing which to order. I went with a few different selections and they were all very different from one another. We also had some of the guacamole, which was absolutely excellent. Noteworthy also, were the MARGARITAS! We got a pitcher and they were satisfying yet dangerous if you consume too many. I would like to come back and sample more of their delicious tacos. My only regret is not trying it sooner as it is truly addicting. read more

I LOVE Bartaco food and margaritas but ever since covid it has been a NIGHTMARE going with a group of people :( the QR code/mobile ordering at the table makes things very complicated to do separate orders and order in general. Also the tacos always come out mixed up so you have to spend time separating and giving the right food to the right people. This wouldn't be a big deal for two people to figure out but in a large group it gets chaotic and somewhat stressful. I just really wish the would go back to providing full service and rid the mobile ordering to make the experience better for everyone. I used to go all the time with friends but now we all rather go somewhere that doesn't create a headache. read more

Great find! I went with a group (5) late in the evening. There was no wait and we had our drinks very quickly. I loved the menu system. When we all ordered various tacos to sample the menu, along with a rice bowl and Tamales. I sampled the Baja Taco, Pork Taco, Fried Oyster Taco, and the seasonal I'm sure, Softshell Crab Taco - which I could have ate five of they were so good. If you are in Tampa this place is worth a stop. read more

This has been the place for a few anniversaries so far. My boyfriend and I have been here three times and each time they never fail to impress! Our server, Johnna, was so helpful and quick to respond whenever we had a request. She kept the feeling for the night very laidback and comfortable. We decided we'd go out of our comfort zone that night and Johnna suggested the duck taco and the pork belly. She was so right about the duck taco and it was to die for! Johnna made our night memorable since she was so easy going and easy to talk to. We will most definitely ask for her again. read more

Love this place and it's concept!! Al a Carte tacos so you can try multiple different ones! It's about $3-$4/taco and they are on the smaller side but I don't feel it's over priced, especially for the area because they are good quality. Definitely not a cheap, fast food taco! They have such unique flavors. Last time I went I had the shrimp Banh mi taco, the vegetarian portobello taco and the chorizo taco. All were delicious!! The shrimp Banh mi was probably my favorite. So juicy yet the tacos stayed together, they did not get mushy or fall apart. They each were full of flavor and I ate every bite!! My husband opted to have his tacos with a lettuce wrap instead of tortilla. He had all chicken (he's not very adventurous lol). But he liked that he could sub for a lettuce wrap taco (they are perfect for low carb diets)! I love the rustic/modern decor of the place. They offer inside and outdoor seating on a patio. You can bring your dog on the outside portion!! Huge brownie points with me!! Where pupper can go I will go. Can't wait to come back here and try other kinds! They had a fried oyster taco I had my eye on last time, yummm! read more

If you have not been you must try! Their margaritas are hand squeezed to order. I always get the mango marg with no rim. I have never had a bad meal in the past 4 years I've been going here. My favorite taco is the pork belly, the roasted duck is also AMAZING!!! their salsa duo with the guac is bomb. their ceviche is also super good. Just stop reading this review and check it out I promise you won't be disappointed. read more

I went back to try this place again as the managers take pride in their restaurant. I went with my gf and we tried a bunch of different tacos also tried their secret taco very different but good (check out the photo) . I will hold true to that the tacos are small and not very filling. We each had about 6 tacos and a side (plantains) Also shared chips and guac. Which are all very tasty some of the best guac i have had in FL. I honestly still do not think the price for the food is worth it for the small amount you get. I will say we left feeling full but you had to have lots to say you had a filling meal. Its honestly a great place to stop in for lunch and the quality of food is good. I never had a bad meal there (food wise). If you do go try the duck and secret taco! Also ask for Vanessa as your server she is nothing but sweet, kind, attentive and makes some good suggestions! I will say this place is better for groups of 1-4. Any more in your group, its gets a bit hard to find a seat and get attentive service. Just my experience. Go with a smaller group you will have a better time Thank you for having us back Javier! When I am in town shopping I will be sure to stop by for a taco ! read more

Stopped here for lunch and was super excited to try it. There was an hour wait but we didn't mind- we just walked around until we were ready. Everyone was very friendly. It took over an hour to get our food. We had to go up and ask if it would be done soon and immediately they brought it out- which means it had just been sitting out. It tasted like it had been sitting out but we were so hungry at that point we just ate. They brought everything out at different times and some of the tacos weren't what we ordered. Pretty disappointed. read more

Been multiple times and they are always on point. They have an amazing crew of happy hipsters that are trained with care. The staff still bring their refreshing personalities to the table (literally). The mix of quality and entertaining service is very hard to cultivate but BT has done it. BRAVO!!! I've yet to order an item I didn't enjoy. Tacos, bowls, share plates, and drinks are all fantastic. DO NOT pass on the plaintains and street corn, I go off the cob (a request they honor). If you are looking for "Americanized tacos" you can "run for the border". If you want some real authentic tacos, great service, drinks and atmosphere, this is the spot. Cheers!!! read more

The service is non-existent. You are seated and asked if you are familiar with ordering via your phone, which we were. You order your food and drinks online and then someone brings your drinks. To be fair our first drinks arrived quickly, probably because the restaurant was not busy. There were 3 of us and we each ordered 3 Tacos. The came out on two plates, and we had to hand them out to who they belonged to. Our 2nd order of drinks took a good long time because by then the restaurant was busier. The only servers we saw were the food runners as they dropped off the food. The tacos were not good. They were really bland tasting. I understand for safety purposes the no contact concept. This restaurant went too far and has a no personal service concept. The manager asked how everything was as we were leaving, he was the only one who asked and his question came too late in our visit. read more

The tacos at this place are great, my favorite is the pork belly. The only reason for the three stars is due to having to order from the website. It crashed a couple times and just took a little longer than ordering thru a person. read more

Food was amazing. I got two tacos and a tamale and the taste was really there. My disappointment came with the service. The whole "family style" of delivering food made it difficult and very confusing to figure out what taco belonged to who. The servers weren't very much help as they were in a rush. All in all, food is good, service is weak Edit: Wanted to edit my review owing to the fact that the managers reached out and asked to come try their restaurant again, and gave outstanding service. One of the managers even came out (will) to ensure everything was going well for us, and asked us about our last experience to make amends. To be honest, I didn't think much of my initial review, as I usually just post and forget about it. It was really impressive to see how much management cares about their quality and name. And most importantly, my girlfriend had a great time! Lol read more

This place sucks! I don't understand what the hype is all about but my experience was terrible. I had ordered to go drinks prior to seating and it seems like when they were ready the lady couldn't seem to find us when we were right outside waiting...ANYWAYS! She put the drinks in a to go bag and when I picked them up it was a total joke! These margaritas were basically a shot glass and no lemons. On top of that, wait time was more then 1 hour and every time i kept checking they kept postponing! Terrible. Stop making this place a hit because it was a shit show! read more

Another first for my wife and I. I'm embarrassed to say I live so close to this area but rarely go there. We were there (Hyde Park Village) for a separate event and then stayed for dinner. We had our pooch with us and their outdoor area is very dog friendly. The tacos are amazing! The carne asada and portobello are the best! Try em all cause they're small :) Great service, great ambience and fun! read more

It was good. I had some time before a cooking class and wanted something to eat before hand and I ran across this place while in Hyde Park. It is a cute place that is bustling so depending on when you arrive there may be a lot of people. I kept it light so no drinks but they have a nice drink menu which I would like to try another time. I got their roasted duck rice bowl and a shrimp taco. The tacos are definitely small bites so do not think they are huge sizes to fill you up. I would say the tacos are good to come for a happy hour. The rice bowl was tasty and full of flavor. The duck was very tender and I am a fan of this bowl. This is a nice place to come and visit and it is good for groups of friends to come for a day or evening out. I would recommend to stop in and try their food. read more

Love Bartaco!! Food is great and so cheap, as far as price but definitely not flavor. Where they get you with price, is the alcohol, but that's just about anywhere. They probably serve my favorite Margarita in all of Tampa, yes even compared to Miguel's! The ingredients are fresh and they are handmade to order, really can't beat that! I gave 4 stars only because they are so crazy busy at times that service does take a beating. Make sure you get there early or be prepared to wait over an hour during peak hours. All of the tacos are great so you really can't go wrong with any of your choices, my faves are always the portobello, carnitas, pork belly, and duck! They are small, maybe 2-3 small bites a piece so don't feel bad when ordering several, you will need them if you are looking for a filling meal. You can easily get out of here with a $15-20 bill and be satisfied food wise, but if you want to indulge in the margaritas (which I highly suggest)...triple your bill because you won't be able to have just one! read more

Best margs in town. Service was great. This blonde guy Brandon was super helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. Will come again for sure. Highly recommend. read more

This place is phenomenal. They have an excellent scotch selection, and excellent vegetarian taco selection! What more could a girl ask for?

Went in for a interview that they scheduled. Waited for a good hour until the host told me it was too busy and they would call me to reschedule the interview. I left waited a few days and called back for them to tell me the position I applied for was not available and they were no longer hiring any positions. Wish they would of told me this prior to the interview so I didn't waste a hour of my time to not even get interviewed. Very unprofessional behavior from the manager. Glad i dodged a bullet on that one read more

Wow! Great tacos! All of their tacos are so good! I really love their cauliflower taco. I recommend going here!

Came here on a Sunday for lunch with the family. The restaurant is clean, open and airy. It was quite busy but we still only waited 20 min to get seated. The beer menu is mainly Mexican beers which is not bad, but considering they have a bar one would assume they might have common domestic drafts. The food you order is on a checklist to be served family style. So in the same way one might order sushi at a sushhi restaurant by checking off the number of items you want off of a order sheet with a pencil, you order your tacos the same way here. It is a bit frustrating but not a terrible inconvenience. The food is AWESOME! The tacos are soft style and there are many to choose from. My son and I tried them all and we couldn't decide which one was best as all were so good. My wife had a rice bowl and was pleasantly surprised how tasty it was. Prices here are a little high, but it is Hyde Park and honestly I didn't mind as the food quality is so good. I recommend everyone come try them out. You won't be disappointed. read more

Brandon greeted us at the door and was soooo nice. It was our first time in. He let us know how everything went here and it was smooth sailing from there. But then we were graced by grace... she is absolutely an angel. She should be a manager. Hands down the best experience in Tampa. read more

This isn't even worthy of 1 Star. Bartaco has been a favorite spot ever since I moved to Tampa. The service was always great and the food was even better. Now during COVID I am sad to inform you all that their new system in place is absolutely HORRIBLE!!!!!!!! The food was cold....drinks were brought out 10 minutes after our food had already arrived...not 1 person came to check on us the entire time we were there. Truly unacceptable. The system they have in place would work if they had servers coming to still check on their tables...but no one did. I will never return back here and you couldn't pay me to come back here that's how HORRIBLE this was. Hopefully this review is seen by management and they can really take this into consideration to fix these problems, otherwise I don't think this place will be lasting much longer. Best of luck!!! read more
