Large? Cheating customers

Downgrading to two stars after so many shrunken tacos at the restaurant and half filled containers when you order large portions for delivery. There is literally a sprinkle of filling for tacos. They fill the cucumber and corn to about half when you order the large size and the large kale salad is always a few fluffy leaves. I've been robbed too many times.

The Port Chester Reviver with gin, lime, mint, cucumber and mango juice. Good but a little pricey ($10).

Who doesn't absolutely love bad taco? Met the girls for lunch and it did not disappoint. Love the house marg made with fresh juice. Goes down too easy! Have to get the esquites when I go as well. This time, my favorite taco was the fried shrimp. Service is the greatest! They remembered my name when I walked out the door somehow even though there are 5 million people coming in and out. Our server was so sweet as well and she let us stay and yap at our table as long as we wanted. We all commented on how good the music was and were informed that the staff loves to put on the millennial bops!

It's an open, airy setting with a nautical decor. A fusion cuisine with Mexican dishes main focus. It threw me off a little. Started with Street Corn, Guacamole and chips. We then ordered Carne Asada, Pork Belly and Chicken Verde Tacos. It was good overall with smaller portions served. They offered a QR code to use and emphasized we can use it for anything we need. I am more of a traditional dine in customer. I had to waive down our server several times. For water, for menu questions and for our bill. Maybe they expected the QR code to be used.

I know I've left so many reviews for Bartaco and they're always positive, but I had to come back and add another one. The new coco watermelon margarita is TO DIE FOR, seriously so good. I actually tried it because it was recommended by the bar staff, who are always so so kind. They even recognize my friend and me at this point since we come here so often, which just makes it feel that much more welcoming. Love this place so much, will definitely be back soon!

Bartaco is perfect for Hyde Park happy hour with the girls! We were definitely the oldest people in the place, but that never stopped us from enjoying tacos & margs!

I normally love bar taco but after eating here this evening I didn't feel well. Unsure what it was but everyone in my party felt the same. I ordered the sampler with chips/guac - corn - plantains - and cucumber salad 2 tacos and tres leche for myself (we did share the app) so I am thinking it's something that was in the app. Also the fire alarm was going on for about 15 mins while we were waiting for our checks it felt like it would never end. I normally really enjoy bar taco but this time my visit fell short.

We stopped here while shopping in the Village for a quick bite. The food was excellent- came quick and was super tasteful. The restaurant vibe was cool with a full service bar and outdoor area. We put our name in, but found a seat outside quick. The wait ended up being about 30 minutes with multiple tables still open throughout the restaurant. We were here on a Saturday and it was very busy, so we didn't have the best service. We waited about 20 minutes after finishing our drinks and food to get our check. There were several tables around us that also didn't get served in a timely manner. This brought our experience down a bit since everything else was so great.

Since moving to Florida, I've been a regular here and I take my tacos very seriously as someone from San Diego The Baja fish is my fave, and only docking one star because the tuna crispy rice is not a permanent menu item (only during happy hour, at the bar) Even if I don't grab tacos, I always get a green juice marg. Legit my favorite margarita out there. Always a good time at Bartaco!

Loved the ambience and service here. Located right in Hyde Park this location was packed when we stopped in for lunch on Sunday. Highly recommend adding yourself to their digital waitlist online. This doesn't guarantee you a seat. You still have to check in and it'll cut down your wait time. The food was consistent as the other locations. We ordered everything from the tuna rice bowl, duck Birria, chips with guacamole, Baja fish tacos and the ahi tuna tatako. All of the textures and flavors were on point. The food came out really quickly and our server was great. It's a great place to enjoy some margaritas and tacos. They have some nice vegetarian options as well.

I've visited Bartaco on multiple occasions. It's not a place I go to very often, but every time I've come here it hasn't quite exceeded expectations ~ especially when compared to many other restaurants in the Hyde Park area. Most recently, my sons and I stopped by during Gasparilla and waited about 30 minutes, which honestly wasn't bad at all considering the circumstances. Other nearby spots like Timpano had a 3-hour wait, and On Swann was completely closed, so Bartaco was definitely the more accessible option that day. Service is... fine. I can't say I've ever been blown away by it. One of the pros is that food comes out quickly, and they do replace water right away. That said, the QR-code ordering system seems to be the preferred method, and while traditional table service is still available, it sometimes feels like you're inconveniencing the server if you ask for it. I'm giving Bartaco 4 stars mainly because of the fun, lively atmosphere. However, both the food and service consistently fall just short. I ordered the ahi tuna bowl, which was overwhelmingly salty from the amount of soy sauce and spice ~ so much so that I woke up in the middle of the night chugging water. My son's pork belly bowl was also extremely spicy, and I wouldn't recommend it unless you really enjoy fiery dishes. The tacos, on the other hand, are consistently good. Even though Bartaco is located in the heart of beautiful Hyde Park, surrounded by great shops and businesses, it's not one of my favorite taco spots. Having lived in California, I'll also say that truly good, traditional Mexican tacos are hard to come by in Florida.

Best Tampa Margaritas in town. Happy Hours is the time to check this spot out. Just get all the small bites menu and you still under $50 bucks! Chicken fluntas were top for me.

I went to Bartaco in the morning for an event and ordered French toast. It was pretty good overall, although I prefer traditional French toast without the extra crunch. I wish it came with a side but it was still filling. I've been to Bartaco before for lunch and dinner. Their tacos are really good but small, street tacos. Service is always great!

Love the huge variety of tacos here. I ordered the pork belly, roasted duck, Baja fish, and mushroom tacos, and they were all so different yet equally delicious. I honestly couldn't pick a favorite because each one had something special about it. The fish taco was surprisingly crispy, the duck taco had an incredible sauce and was very filling, the mushroom taco was unique and the pork belly was probably the most flavorful. One thing that could be improved a little was the service. We ordered eight tacos and had to remind our server about two that were missed, even though they were clearly written down. We also had to repeatedly ask for water refills despite sitting directly at the bar. That said, the restaurant was extremely crowded and busy, so I don't entirely blame the staff. It might help to have water bottles available for self-refills or larger water glasses, as I found myself feeling thirsty throughout the meal.

A Beautiful Día de los Muertos Dining Experience!…read more I had the pleasure of experiencing the Día de los Muertos menu, and what a wonderful experience it was! From the cocktails to the food, everything was excellent. The atmosphere was warm, inviting, and beautifully complemented the theme. What made the experience even better was the welcoming hospitality and attentive service from our server. It's always a pleasure when great food is matched with great service! Drinks I absolutely loved the cocktails! The Strawberry Margarita, made with Espolòn Blanco, lime, agave, and strawberry, was refreshing, perfectly balanced, and full of flavor. The Saffron Marigold was another standout. Made with Vila Reposado, saffron agave syrup, lime, orange, pineapple, and orange bitters, it offered a beautiful combination of citrus and subtle sweetness. Both drinks were delicious and definitely worth trying! Plates The Butter-Poached Atlantic Lobster was delicious! The combination of cilantro, chipotle aioli, and red onion brought together a wonderful balance of flavors. The Carne Asada was equally enjoyable. The grilled skirt steak paired with melted Oaxaca cheese, onion, and cilantro made for a flavorful and satisfying dish. Dessert The Amanecer Pumpkin Brûlée was the perfect way to finish the meal. The piloncillo pumpkin crème brûlée, coconut, salted caramel ice cream, and pepita brittle created such a delicious combination. A seasonal dessert that truly delivered! Overall Experience Between the creative seasonal menu, delicious cocktails, flavorful dishes, and welcoming atmosphere, this was an experience I thoroughly enjoyed. A special shout-out to the service team for making us feel so welcomed and taken care of throughout our visit. I love when restaurants put thought and creativity into seasonal menus while still delivering on flavor and hospitality. This Día de los Muertos experience was definitely one to remember. I would absolutely come back!

This was a very happy rainy day find for lunch attached to the hotel lobby…read more We flew in and arrived at the Water Street Marriott just in time for the rain to start. Arriving hungry, we stopped in here. The decor was well out together with a various arrangement of seating options. They were out of topo chico so opted for a seltzer water. I ordered tacos and elotes both of which came out fast and or so good! My dining companion ordered the Tijuana salad with steak which was massive and came out with a perfectly cooked medium rare flank steak on too. The salad was exactly the Caesar salad twist I expected with the hand prepped original dressing and addition of the elotes on top. Definitely worth a try if you're craving mexican in the area.
