Bar-taco is a must if you at Boston Seaport. The ambience is good besides the tables being so close to each other. Every time someone gets up to go to the restroom made me feel I was in their way. Server kindly help us out with some suggestions on their menu. Food was a bit pricey for 1 bite taco size. Cocktails were on point. I recommend the Taco teaser with some cocktails. Tacos not recommended. read more

Food: Tacos were good (nothing special, but portions were SMALL). I could've easily eaten like 10 of these! My friends' Tres Leches, Street Corn, Chicken Taco Soup, Beef bowl did look super good though, I would get them next time if I was hungrier! Service: Food was really fast, but expected, as portions were so small. Waiters were really helpful in how to order through the app and how to use it as well! Ambiance: I love it! The store is super cute (came during the daytime but I would come at night too), the store is really clean, lots of natural light. Lots of seating as well. It's a cute spot, but definitely expensive for what it's worth. read more

Generally have had a consistently good experience here. Service is always friendly and I love getting the pork belly tacos. However, their cocktails are watered down. Also tried the ceviche for the first time and wasn't getting a consistent flavor in each bite. read more

I've been to Bartaco a handful of times over the last few years, and it never seems to disappoint. It's a good spot for just about any occasion. I've been for birthday dinners, a graduation party, and a coworker holiday lunch. During weekday lunch, it's definitely more of a corporate crowd, but on the weekends/eveningw, it's more of a mix. The food is very solid, and there are lots of options. Mexican isn't exactly the greatest in Boston, so that makes this place and easy win. If you're going for the tacos, make sure to order a few, because they're on the smaller side. Love that they have funky options like glazed pork belly and tuna tatako. I'm sure I'll be back! read more

My friends and I had plans in the area on a Friday night and were looking for a quick bite. It was around 5/6 pm and we were able to walk right into the restaurant and be seated. For a somewhat large party (6) that was a pleasant surprise! The restaurant ambiance was simple, cute and nice. We were seated next to a bookshelf, which had some interesting books. This restaurant wasn't like you're conventional restaurant where you have 1 server for you're whole meal. You order everything through a QR code and someone drops it off. If you need anything, then there is a card for you to put up and someone will help you. At the beginning of our experience there, Marco, had helped us. He not only explained the whole process but also gave us recommendations! He was absolutely wonderful and deserves a raise! The food arrived at our table super quickly after ordering. The only downfall, was that the food arrived and it was room temperature. As someone who likes their food blistering hot, that a disappointment. I got caught up in conversation and forgot to take pictures but I'd recommend the guacamole and the Verde salsa! read more

Rly small tacos so it seems cheap but it's not, but flavors r good, there was a nice crispy fish one and a nice soft flavored pork belly one, chicken also v tender It's a self ordering system, so easy to order more as u go. Food comes out a bit slowly tho. Ambiance inside is also very nice, Boston red bricks plus comfy casual vibes w bar stools and couch cushions etc Worth trying at least once for all the unique flavors! read more

The food and drinks here are fabulous! I wish we could remember our server's name (too many white wines) but she was so attentive and caring! Will go again the next time I visit my daughter in Boston. read more

Bartaco used to be THE spot. Since they've made recent changes, it's gone completely downhill. They used to have you order through a QR code and your tacos would come as you ordered, super fresh. Now, you have to order through a staff member and they all come at the same time on the same plate. Incredibly difficult to split up in a larger group, and their staff just make the process a lot more clunky. I have no interest in going back until they go back to their original ordering system. Such a let down! :( read more

Good tacos (pork belly is the best one), others were ok. Good to set up the reservation online to avoid the wait. Mocktail was seedlip with pea flower tea was good but overpriced for what it is. Would only get the pork belly taco again since it is expensive for having 4 tacos and a $12 drink for roughly $40 read more

Love the service here--staff really listen and always find a way to accommodate your needs, and the food is absolutely delicious.

Great place! Especially for large groups as ordering is easy to do right on the phone and service is quick. I love the pork belly tacos and they have some fun mocktails. The chips are interesting because you have to break them yourselves and they don't give you much to start but you can always ask for more. I will continue to come here when I am in town for work! read more

Came here for lunch on a Friday. It was very busy. Despite that they had plenty of seating and the wait time was not long. These are not authentic Mexican tacos, but they are still good. My favorite was the ahí tuna taco which came in a letter tortilla as opposed to a corn tortilla. The restaurant had a nice vibe and the staff were all very friendly. These food was actually on the cheaper side which was nice since all the dishes we ordered were good. I would recommend the ahí tuna taco and the ceviche. read more

It's tough to beat west coast Mexican food, this place was alright. I needed a quick lunch spot with some colleagues so they opted for this spot and I wasn't too satisfied. My overall review is that the price can't be justified for the quality of the food. I ordered the rice bowl with spiced chicken verde chile + herb marinade w/ aguacate salsa. It was topped with a few bell peppers but I wish I had more veggies or maybe some pico de gallo. It wasn't a bad dish but it didn't really taste like "upscale" Mexican food. I also ordered the plantains and they were very good! They were very ripe and sweet and paired with a sour cream based side dip. The online billing system is not the best. You're required to ordered through your phone and pay via phone as well. If you don't close your bill I'm a timely period then an automatic gratuity is added. A benefit is that it's close to hotels in seaport so if you're looking for a decent meal this places is really close. read more

Came into this taco joint with a bigger party with a work event. The location is great - easily accessible from several offices in the area. They only had outdoor seating for us which was decent(but it was kind of toasty that day sadly). The ordering system requires a QR code which is kind of cool, but also kind of annoying at the same time. A manager had to come resolve some issues for us in person. If you're in a big group, it can feel a bit troublesome. I'd probably prefer to order things the old fashion way for the group we had. The menu had a great variety of taco options. I was definitely surprised to see duck on the list - you don't see that everywhere. It was also a nice touch that you could swap tortillas for lettuce wraps in case you're looking for something lighter. I enjoyed a lunch combo with tortilla soup and three tacos. Definitely a solid filling. The tacos felt slightly pricey, but I think that might be the going rate for street tacos + being in seaport probably doesn't help either. Thankfully, being in a work event, I didn't feel the pinch. Service seemed nice, but I didn't feel like I interacted with them that much given the QR system. read more

I really liked bartaco! I got the Paloma fresca to drink and it was very good. Then I got Baja fish tacos and crispy shrimp tacos. The tacos were very tasty! My only reason for not giving five stars was the mobile order experience. I love I good tech-integrated experience, but their system is faulty. We kept trying to add our orders from other peoples phones so we could each pay for our own stuff but we kept getting an http error, it was very annoying. If that had been working, this would have been a perfect dinner experience for me. read more

We were there for a late lunch so there wasn't a wait and we got our food quickly. This was one of our favorite meals of our time in Boston. Our favorite item was the pork belly tacos but we liked all the tacos we tried and the street corn. Even my kids ate their whole meal which almost never happens. My kids were thrilled when they were brought an entire coloring book rather than just a coloring page. read more

Our first time here & we had an AMAZING time. The service was extremely fast and efficient. The decor is fun & cute. Doesn't feel too overcrowded and the atmosphere is welcoming. We were helped majorly by Sam and Priscilla. You definitely do not want to skip the duck birria quesadilla. It was our favorite of the whole meal. You can order a couple of things for the table and you will leave stuffed. We also got the taco platter which came with 3 tacos and a soup or salad, chips + guacamole, chicken verde bowl, crispy pork belly bowl & kimchi. Definitely recommend the sesame ribeye taco! Would recommended 10/10! read more

My experience here started off rocky. When we arrived the wait was 45 minutes and the place was packed on a Tuesday. We sat at the appetizer table and bought some guacamole and drinks. We then realized that no one was leaving the restaurant and that 45 minutes in and we'd been waiting for over an hour. We'd decided to stay and wait it out. FINALLY, the people started to wake up and leave. We were seated 15 minutes later. But let me tell you, I'm so happy we stayed! That pork belly bowl, and duck taco was AMAZING! I wasn't into the fish taco so much. I'm back in Texas and I want this meal again! I've craving it! I'll be sure to visit this spot on my next trip! read more

Went here before a concert last weekend, and everything about the experience was fantastic. Very friendly waitstaff, delicious drinks, and the food was fresh and flavorful! A decent taco bar. Plenty of room and all types of seating available indoor outdoor at the Bar long tables and standard tables. We noticed many young folks with kids. It was a Saturday around noon. MICE! Hard Nope! Went on a Saturday night ~ 6pm. Place was packed. Was seated at a table outside (not streetwise) ~ outside patio. Mice all under the busser station. Told the waitress and hostess came back and told us it would be 40 min to 1 hr to reseat us. Manager came over and reseated us inside. Food was meh. Took forever to get our check and they forgot some of our food. I went up to 3 different employees to help get out check. Don't move us! Clean the mice prob (maybe sweep up the crumbs they were eating?). Pour some hot water over the places they were crawling? We should've left. I'd never go back. read more

My husband and I stumbled on this place late one night after work and could not have had a better experience. It's January, so we were feeling worn down and tired. The combination of BarTaco's friendly service -- every single person was smiling and happy to help us even though it was the end of the night -- and the deliciously fresh food and drinks had us skipping by the time we left. We shared the chips & guac & salsas, korean ribeye rice bowl, and pork belly tacos. We both agreed that the pork belly tacos were the best bites, but everything was good. To drink, my husband had a margarita and I got a pomegranate limonada. The limonada was very tart, which I liked, but is good to be aware of. We will definitely be back. It was like a mid-week vacation to wake up our senses. read more

We got our place in line early from their website, when we arrived, we got their towards the end of their lunch rush, we waited about 15 minutes to be sat. You order by selecting what meals you want on their provided menu and pencils. The "waiter" takes the menu orders and your food is later brought out. The food, though small portion sizes, were very tasty. I ordered the seared tuna rice bowl, it had the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. I really enjoyed the fried rice ball. The tacos were also very good, but again, small. I recommend ordering at least 3 tacos per person. Now for the complaints. Our waters were never refilled. We never saw our "waiter" again. Sitting in the hot sun we kept looking for someone to come by and bring us some more water. We had to go and find him for our check too as we waited about 20 minutes before going to find him. At this point, the restaurant was not busy. They messed up our order multiple times. They first brought us the wrong size guac and charged us for it. We ordered a small, were given a large and were charged for it. They brought over the wrong order of tacos, proceeded to tell us it was our order, in addition they were missing two tacos from another order. It was chaos. The food was good, but very disappointed in the service read more

Tacos are good. I had pork belly and duck tacos. Size was small though, so get at least 3. Service was poor. We were sat down without a menu, and they didn't take our order for 10 minutes, we had to flag them down. This place has great vibes, pretty good food, and is a great price! It's fun inside and on a Thursday night we didn't have much of a wait, and food was served quickly by friendly staff. The tacos were pretty good; I really like the shrimp and carne asada ones. The fish one was a bit bland but that didn't really matter because it was a great canvas for their delicious hot sauces! Not gonna lie, my expectations were low. It's a chain and I try to go to non-chain when I travel, but it was dark out (meaning it was like 6pm) and it was right next to our hotel, and dinner was needed. I will say every time we passed during our trip, it was packed, so that was a good sign. We ordered this to go. I stayed really simple and on the lighter side because all we did in Boston is eat and drink delicious (and heavy) food, so I did the kids chicken quesadilla and the chicken tortilla soup. I was shocked how much flavor the soup had - good heat, not too thick, and with the chips on the side it had a satisfying crunch. I ordered a side of avocado to go on top of my quesadilla and it was also enjoyable. Good char marks on the quesadilla, good amount of cheese and chicken, and the avocado on top was a delight. Overall, if we stay in this area again, I would go in for happy hour and try the margs and have a snack. It was an elevated quick service Mexican spot with decent pricing and good portions so I'll take it for a convenient bite while I'm in the area for sure. read more

Tacos 7/10 Drinks 7/10 Service 2/10 Ambiance 7/10 I truly felt bad for the servers. Our plates came one at a time. If I ordered 3 tacos, I would get 2 and then 1 would come later. A server would come with 8 drinks and only 1 belonged to our table. The server explained it's the way the "iPad" is set up. Terrible system. It was so choppy, unorganized, servers are stressed.
