Finally made it out to Bartaco last night after hearing my friends rave about this place for months. They do not take reservations which sucks but you can be added to the waitlist in advance of arriving. We ended up having to wait about an hour to be seated on a busy Saturday night. I ordered the fish taco, ancho-braised beef taco and the corn (off the cob). Everything tasted super great and I especially loved the corn. Great restaurant to enjoy the last bit of summer! read more

Food: 8/10 They had a wide variety of tacos to choose from. I enjoyed the lobster tacos the most. I wish I had gotten some guidance on what was best tacos - they had sauce at table that when you put on added a lot of flavor. Service: 7/10 It's one of the restaurants where you scan a qr code and order online instead of through a server. This did make ordering quickly and getting our food easier, but I'm not really a fan of that kinda service. I felt weird tipping 20%...(so I didn't) Ambiance - 8/10 It was pretty crowded with the copa going in at bar. Our table was super short tho. Like my knees were at the top of the table short- I felt kinda goofy the whole dinner, but I think we just got unlucky with table. All in all, enjoyed the dinner. It was one of only restaurants open late so was definitely our best option. read more

I called and was put on the waitlist. Told it would be 20 minutes. When I arrived 20 minutes later, I was told another 35 minutes. The whole point of a waitlist is for them to hold a table for you. Left and went to eat around the corner which was much better read more

Always great! We stopped in for lunch the other day and we already want to go back! We started with the duck birria ... AMAZING! We then got a few different tacos, duck, chicken, pork belly, sesame ribeye and a lobster taco (the secret taco). They were all great, fresh and tasty, but the stars of the show were the lobster and the pork belly, DELICIOUS! We also got a margarita and a lemon drop martini, again, perfection! read more

Cool place. Good food. Cold beer. Great staff. Had a few different tacos including crispy pork belly, tuna and spicy chicken. All we're delicious. The guac was very good. I didn't care for the red salsa... not sure what it was.. maybe too much cumin for me. I'd definitely go back for the tuna tacos. read more

Super fun, lively spot! Vegetarian delight! I had street corn which was perfect & a little spicy, 3 tacos -Portobello, Brussels sprouts & cauliflower-all @dressed differently & super tasty. The cauliflower taco had a bit of a smoky flavoring. My husband had cerviche which he said was "exceptional"! and three tacos- shrimp, fish & oyster. He said they were great but didn't thrill him. Margaritas were fresh & tasty, they squeeze all their own bar juices so margaritas have nice fresh lime flavor. We sat in bar area in a Sunday night &!it was very busy! You order in your phone, like ordering to-go. read more

First time here. Wanted to love this place but couldn't. Only thing I really liked out of my order was the street corn. Ordered shrimp tacos, super spicy. My coffee had food in it, which disgusted me and ruined my appetite. It was insanely packed on a Monday. Service was ok. Our table was left uncleaned for a while. Dessert took an hour to come out. Order ice cream cones and churros lol. read more

This is a fun, casual restaurant with good food. Love the vibe and that it has indoor and outdoor seating. I think they winterize the outdoor season when needed. The food is good, but is fun and inexpensive. Three of us went yesterday for lunch. We split Guac and Kale Chips. The Guac was about average. Kale Chips had great spice on them but were a bit chewy. Tacos were good with Bibb Tuna and the Pulpo special very good. Although the food is not great, it is good, prices are great and the vibe is so fun. Service was good. read more

Bartaco is a must try and a complete gem. On the water, it offers indoor and outdoor seating and a large bar area. They don't take reservations so you'll need to call about an hour before you arrive to get put on the waitlist. We came on a Saturday at 5pm and it was fully packed but we didn't have to wait since we phoned ahead. Everything I had (oyster taco, ceviche and ribeye taco) was delicious. The service was top notch and the best I've had in a long time. It's a very family friendly place but a perfect date spot as well. I will definitely be back to try all of the things read more

This is my fourth time visiting this location and I keep coming back for a good reason. Before Bartaco, I never really gave tacos a chance, but this restaurant really changed my perspective on going out to get tacos as a meal. The tacos are small and may be considered unconventional, but I really enjoy the taste of the different ones that they have to offer. The restaurant has a huge parking lot near it that has free parking. It also offers indoor seating, outdoor seating with heating lamps that overlook a small body of water, and an indoor bar area. When I entered the restaurant, there was a DJ that was playing music. It was a bit noisy, but that is to be expected near the bar area. When I arrived late on Friday night, there was no line, so we were able to be seated right away. Bartaco has gotten rid of the old style of ordering which was done by marking your order on a checklist with a pencil. Now, you simply scan the QR code that is on the table, enter your phone number, and then type in a credit card number to open a tab. From your phone, you can place your order at your leisure and your order is brought out by the servers as the food is ready. To drink, we ordered the limeade, a caipirinha, and a pomegranate limonada. The limeade was decent, although I wish there was a slice of lime in there instead of a slice of lemon. The caipirinha was nothing special, but it was decent. The pomegranate limonada was a pretty creative idea, but it was a bit over sweet. If the sweetness was toned down a bit, it would have been a pretty good non-alcoholic drink. For starters, we ordered the sweet plantains, the tuna poké, and the street corn. The sweet plantains were really good. They were soft, but not mushy. They were the perfect amount of sweetness, as well. The plantains come with a side of green sauce, but I personally think that the plantains are pretty good without the sauce and you do not really need it. The tuna poké is an appetizer that should be skipped. The tuna poké comes with a side of toasted tortillas. The toasted tortillas have a hint of saltiness to the them. The tuna itself is pretty good and flavorful and are covered in toasted sesame seeds. In the small bowl, there are also bits of avocado and cucumber slices. The small dish is great with the avocado, but would be much better without the cucumber because the cucumbers do not add to the dish. I think there is a lot of potential with this dish if there was rice in the bowl, like a traditional poké bowl. The other starter that we ordered was the street corn. The street corn is my favorite of the three starters that we ordered. The cheese, in combination with the corn, combines nicely with the spice that is added onto the corn. There is a hint of spice to the corn, but it is tolerable and flavorful. When it comes to the tacos, there are plenty of options. Since the tacos are pretty small, I like to order a bunch of tacos so that I have options while I eat. The tacos that we ordered were the Roasted Duck, Spiced Chicken Verde, Crispy Oyster, Chile-Lime Shrimp, and the Glazed Pork Belly. All of the tacos were pretty good and flavorful, but my personal recommendations would be to get the Glazed Pork Belly, Roasted Duck, and the Chile-Lime Shrimp. Overall, a meal for two people here can run about $100 or less. My bill came out to about $87 before tip. Bartaco will always be one of my go-to dining out options because it is convenient to go to and I know that the food will not disappoint. Bartaco gets my stamp of approval. read more

My first time here and I was overall happy with my visit. Bar taco is located in a really nice area with a nice ocean front view. The host told us the wait was an hour or less but it turned out to be 15 mins which was even better for us. Our waitress was pretty helpful. The tacos are small here so we were told one person would eat 3-4 tacos each which was true. I will review and rate each item we had tried: - Plantains: These were basically sweet plantains with their special white sauce. I'd give these 2 out of 5 stars overall because sweet plantains are whatever to me and the only thing that kept this alive was the sauce. - Chicken Empanadas: These came only with two empanadas. It was chicken with potatoes on the inside with a side of salsa verde. Honestly, for the price, these were ok. Super mediocre. I would give these 3 out of 5 stars. It wasn't as crunchy as I had expected but the flavors were good. - Crispy Rock Shrimp Tacos: These were the biggest disappointment because it just tasted like a couple of popcorn shrimp thrown in a soft taco shell with cabbage. It could use more flavor I would give this a 1 out of 5 starts and i would order this one upon my next visit. - Carne Asada Tacos: These were pretty good. Flavorful but the steak was cooked too much well done where the juices had evaporated from the taco. I would give this one a 3 out of 5 stars. - Glazed Pork Belly Tacos: These right here are the show stopped. It's contains enough fat where the flavors were overflowing in the taco. The pork was cooked to a crisp in a sweet sauce. Loved it, 6 out of 5 if it were possible. I do highly recommend this one. - Roasted Duck Taco: Duck has a certain taste to it. But I had really enjoyed this one. It has an Asian infused taste to it and it has a sweetness that reminds me of Hoison sauce. It was super tender and I do highly recommend this one as well. 5 stars. - Pork Belly rice bowl: Only order if you are super hungry and want to overdose on the pork belly. It's basically a smaller version of a bowl from Chipotle but it has fresh veggies like green peppers. I would give this one a 5 out of 5 starts (I admit that I am biased because it is pork belly) Overall, good vibes from this place. it was a deep drive from where we were but it was worth it. read more

This was my first time eating at a Bartaco location and I definitely get the hype! Everything I tried was delicious and their menu is pretty expansive, offering much more than just tacos. If I was rating Bartaco solely on the food, it would be five stars for sure. We joined the waitlist on a Saturday night around 7pm and it was very crowded. It would've been at least a 30 minute wait for a table, so we decided to sit at the bar instead. The bar was packed, so understandably service was a little slow and we didn't mind waiting. However, they forgot my friend's order of cauliflower tacos. We were seeing a concert nearby and didn't have time to wait for them to be made (we had already waited a while for the other food to be brought out). It was odd that the kitchen missed their order because they have each party check off what they want on an ordering sheet. They took them off the bill, but it was still less than ideal. Back to the food - I tried the duck taco, fish taco, and poke bowl. The poke bowl is on the lighter side; it isn't served over rice like most poke bowls. Instead, it's a simple dish that comes with tuna, diced avocado, scallions, and cucumber. It was a delicious appetizer! The tacos hit the spot too, but I have to say the duck taco was my favorite. The duck was tender and served with a savory sauce. Definitely not your traditional taco but delicious nonetheless! The fish taco was good too, served with a big portion of crispy fish and a flavorful slaw. I normally prefer grilled or blackened fish tacos, but these hit the spot. Each taco order comes with two small tacos, so one order isn't quite enough for an entree size. Looking forward to trying their other tacos next time! read more

On 12/19/2024, around 8 PM, my friends and I began our 45-minute wait, excited to enjoy the food and drinks Bartaco is known for; that changed fairly quickly. While waiting, a friend and I decided to grab a drink at the bar. After waiting for 15 minutes to be attended to, I--22 years old with a valid license--was told by the bartender, "I cannot accept this," regarding my very real ID. Another member of our party experienced a similar issue, but when she asked to speak with a manager, her ID was approved. I then approached the manager myself, explaining the situation and showing him a photo of my passport for additional verification. His response was shockingly rude. He dismissed my ID as "sketchy" and claimed it "raises a lot of red flags." When I offered to show my passport photo as further proof, he curtly replied, "I have the right to refuse you, and that is EXACTLY what I am doing," in the most condescending tone imaginable. I am generally easygoing and avoid conflict, but this behavior was completely uncalled for. The lack of professionalism and blatant disrespect from the manager left a sour taste and ruined the experience. read more

Food was delicious!!! But I'm assuming it was the floor manager (white older man not in uniform) he kept circling around our table and standing leaning on the back of our booth which made it very uncomfortable. I also requested a margarita with vodka which I do every time. He marched over said let me see your phone which was very uncomfortable to begin with and told me I need to do a bunch of other steps if I want to order a drink. Prior to him coming over the table he canceled my original drink order 10 minutes after I ordered it and made me re-order it putting me at the bottom of the list and I needed to wait another 15 minutes for my drink to arrive. The way he spoke was very condescending and made the entire table uncomfortable. read more

I have always loved this place. I previously rated it four stars. But the quality has certainly declined. My fried tacos were overdone. Some of my favorites were lacking in flavor. And to make matters worse, I found a piece of plastic wrap in my Keylime pie dessert. When I left, I asked if they were under new management. I was told yes... since September. It shows. read more

The first time I ever tried Bartaco was while I was on a business trip in Nashville. I mistakenly thought that it only existed there so you can only imagine the joy I felt when I found out that there was one in Westchester not too far from me! Bartaco is a place that brings me joy, there's no other way to describe it. Perfect for date night, hanging out with friends, celebrations, or whatever else your heart desires. The most important thing is that you will not be let down. Yes, sometimes the food takes longer to come out than at other times but the staff is always super friendly and all you have to do is ask for an update if you want. I'm usually just happy chatting and enjoying one of their many awesome drinks with whomever I'm with before the food comes out. At this point I'd like to say that I've tried everything one the menu but I always end up going back to my favorites. To start, guacamole and chips and as my "main" my top three tacos are the baja fish, crispy oyster and the glazed pork belly. It's easy to lose count of how many you've had, one because of how good they are but two, because of how dangerously easy they make it to order for yourself or for your party (scan the QR code and order away, no judging). I always finish off with one of the best tres leches I've had anywhere. I always try to share it but end up ordering another each time! Definitely worth the wait if there is one and don't be scared to bring your little ones as well as they are also very kid friendly (table activities and meals). read more

Delicious tacos and drinks by the water. You can't go wrong. The short rib taco with kimchi was probably on my list as one of the best tacos I've ever had. The menu is unique with different types of tacos. I lost count of how many I ended up trying! The drinks were great, except the caipirinha (way too much lime juice). Aside from that, I'm excited to return this summer. The vibe was very lively, I had a great time. read more

We came here due to the 'pressure' of hearing of it's accolades and experiencing FOMO. So we tried it out. The mixed drinks were very good and well presented. Seating was comfortably casual, and service was via OneDine (Scan QR-code, order items add tip) and wait for your dishes. I had the Fried Oyster, Duck and Pork-Belly Tacos. All were as was hoping for! I ended up getting another pair of Porkbellies for dessert, while my wife and daughter had mint chocolate chip ice-cream cones read more

Our waiter was extremely attentive and helpful with our order. He was able to answer all of our questions. We sat outside - the outside patio was open and was a little crowded. We also had plantains, grilled corn, cucumber salad, a chicken bowl, pineapple and guacamole. All of our sides were extremely delicious. I would definitely order each of these again. Always heard the buzz around Bartaco and IT LIVED UP TO THE HYPE. First and foremost, there is a huge parking lot so you do not have to worry about parking. Their outdoor space is super nice, sitting right next to the water. This is a great place to meet with friends as the aesthetic and vibes are right on point. Everything is reasonably priced. If you're unsure what tacos to get, the baja fish is a must! My waitress (who was great also) mentioned that it is battered in rice flour making it gluten free (I'd double check before ordering to be sure, but I believe that is what she said). I also had the Chile-lime shrimp which was way spicier than I thought, wouldn't get that again. The plantains also came with this white dip that paired deliciously with them. For my drink, I got the pomegranate limonada which was so refreshing. Overall 10/10. Would recommend to friends. Get the Baja fish taco and the plaintains. read more

I went after work with a colleague to Bartaco. Although it was a cold winter evening, I could tell that most likely during the summer months, this place is popping. I started off with a house margarita (tip: happy hour specials are only served at the bar) and continued to order some delicious food. I liked how you ordered food through your phone so paying was easy and you don't have to worry about splitting any bills! I think the tastiest thing that I ate was the street corn off the cob. I would also recommend ordering the salsa trio, and as many tacos as you can fit in your stomach. They definitely had a good variety of tacos to choose from. read more

This place has great energy! You would never think so, because on the outside it's so quiet- but inside is jumping! WOW- I had 3 HOMERUNS!! The PORK BELLY, DUCK & LOBSTER- were DELICIOUS!! I got SECONDS & could easily have gotten 3rds- because these are really small tacos! My daughter had 2 chicken & she also loved them & had seconds 4. I had the corn and thought it was just ok- for 5 bucks- next time I would just add an extra taco- either duck or pork belly! Only downside was long lines, slow service- tacos took a very long time to come out, about 45 minutes- but it was Friday. And as a sidebar, there were many flies & fruit-flies everywhere on the inside. They really were annoying, the restaurant needs to get a better handle on that situation. Other then that, I highly recommend! read more

I sat in the outdoor eating area of the restaurant with my friend on a busy Saturday afternoon. The waitress was nice. However, she forgot about us, and we did not get everything that we ordered. The other staff members were friendly and informed us the kitchen was backed up. Besides that, the tacos were amazing! I had to admit I had my doubts because it is not a traditional Mexican restaurant. However, there were so many selections and other food besides tacos like burgers. Portions decreased, prices increased. I've been coming here since it literally first opened. The past few times has been a complete disappointment, which I'm upset about because this used to be my go-to place in the area. Food is decent but the biggest thing is portions have decreased. Literally everything: guac, street corn, tacos, bowls. The guac doesn't even taste as fresh as it used to. I noticed their tacos are skimpy on the meat but generous on the garnishes. Service is fine. When it's not packed the food comes out super fast. I literally got all my tacos before my guac, all within 5 minutes of ordering.
