My friends and I went here for a quick bite before a Friday night concert. Their waiting line system for a table is great in concept but a little hard to time out unless you're relatively flexible and nearby when you're getting to the head of the line. We were waiting total a little over an hour (started 16 in line for 3 people) and about 20 minutes actually in the restaurant. You could tell it was a little stressful for the staff because there were multiple groups waiting with us, but they were very friendly and checked in with everyone consistently. Once we sat down, we had about 30 minutes to eat. We let our waiter know and had no issues with quick service. To order, you fill out a paper menu and then put a little card in a stand to let them know you're ready, which definitely streamlines the process. Only bummer was it was 7:30pm and they were out of shrimp *cries*. I loved their range of tacos, which offered multiple meat, seafood, and veggie options. As they were out of shrimp I tried the four others I had my eye on: Baja fish, ahi tuna, mushroom, and cauliflower. All had unique and delicious flavors. The tuna was hard to eat on a piece of lettuce, but made more sense to me I suppose than a corn tortilla. I'm not a meat eater but my friend got four different meat options and enjoyed them. The waiter specifically recommended the pork belly. The tacos are pretty small so I'd recommend at least four if you're not ordering other food. These are not the best tacos I've ever had, but it's a solid spot with a lot of options. The selection of sauces at the table was fun to try. Such a cute, casual lunch or dinner spot! The vibes are honestly perfect for any occasion and just fill you with positive vibes. The service was really fast and super sweet, and the food is satisfying and cheap. I literally have no complaints! My friend and I met here to catch up over lunch and tried their tortilla soup and a couple of the tacos. I have to say, the duck taco was deliciously tender and umami supported by a nice soft tortilla, and the soup is exceptionally flavorful, creamy, and filled with chicken! Quick service, great ambiance, tacos hit the spot!! I dropped in around lunch and was seated quickly before the lunch rush but they keep it moving. Staff was super nice and attentive. I tried the Baja taco, mushroom taco, and chile-lime shrimp taco. All the tacos have great flavors and they give you a good amount of the protein, which is appreciated! Would get them all again. Food was good, definitely try the pork belly taco. But the wait list doesn't seem the most effective because we joined with a wait of 90-120 minutes. That feels a bit silly. Luckily we found out the bar was first come first serve and we made it work. The bartenders did tend to forget about us though, and it took about 20 minutes to get asked what we wanted. I think they were trying to not interrupt us talking, but we are a chatty group so that was never going to happen. The bathrooms were very clean. I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with the service I received at Bartaco Fenway today. I am a 23-year-old active duty Army officer, and I visited with a 22-year-old friend. Despite providing both our state IDs (Maryland and Texas), we were both refused service for alcohol. The staff was incredibly dismissive and refused to even attempt to verify our credentials. While I understand that Boston establishments are often cautious with out-of-state licenses, we provided additional identification and were still refused. To celebrate our newfound apartment (and calm our nerves from having spent all our money on a deposit), my party of three began with a round of margaritas. As Bartaco cares for their customers, ensuring that you get just what you want, these margaritas come with the choice of a salt, sugar, or spiced rim, customizable to fit the preferences of each individual diner. Along with our drinks, we ordered a delicious guacamole that had a mild spice to it and was paired with innovative, crispy, unbroken corn tortillas. No pre-cut chips, allowing you to break off just what you need. Additionally, an order of salsa roja was placed, but sadly, she did not impress. Stand alone, the salsa was just alright, but nothing to write home about. My trio of tacos delivered just that. The chili-lime shrimp? Delectable. Paired with jicama escabeche that added a fresh crunch to each bite and drizzled with pepita salsa macha, adding a subtle spice. Perhaps it could have used one more shrimp, but ultimately divine. The falafel? Oh, mother may I. She was delicious. Without even considering her taco state, this was one of the best falafels I've ever had the pleasure of tasting. A perfect soft, chickpea filling with a strong and crunchy armor protecting the decadent green insides. Served with greek-style tzatziki and sriracha, creating an unexpected yet genius dichotomy of flavors by pairing together the refreshing yogurt-based cream and spicy chili pepper sauce. A forbidden pas-de-deux of opposing senses. Romeo meets Juliet, tzatziki meets sriracha. And now, a proclaimed Bartaco favorite: the pork belly taco. This was arguably the simplest of them all, but she left nothing to be desired. I had a craving for some kind of tex mex and decided to pull in while originally walking to Chipotle. This location used to be the home of a vegan restaurant which had been vacant for a while. The decor is light and comfortable, and the mid-afternoon was really pretty quiet. This is definitely a fresh idea on food delivery, with the QR code on the table driving an app which more or less handles all the details. It's easy to select and order items and whatnot. Service was quick and all the food was hot and fresh. It's going to take me a few visits to get through all the different kinds of tacos. Had to do a Target run today and happened upon the BARTACO Fenway Park location for a late lunch after my shopping. What an incredibly fabulous find!!!! I felt very welcomed as I walked into BARTACO. Manager Kevin was gracious and the epitome of a host. Kudos as well to my server who was very good as well. I relaxed and reviewed the menu being extremely pleased with the offerings and prices. I decided to try a few things and I absolutely loved everything! I had the plantains, esquite, pork belly taco, falafel taco and the agave ginger mint iced tea. BTW you can do an online survey before leaving and get a token for a free taco. I did the survey and plan to use my token when I take my BF to their Boston Seaport location this weekend!! Today I had the pork tamale as well and it was delicious ...tasted like my gramma used to make so truly legitimate taste. However, I unfortunately have to ding BarTaco today. I always order their fresh brewed ginger mint carafe since it's plentiful and a delicious ice tea. So today I waited and waited and asked and asked and was about 2/3 done with my food when I gave up and flagged down a server to say "please cancel the ice tea". They did remove it however they truly need to pay attention to all diners not just large parties or only those ordering alcohol! I will add that hostess did mention large parties as I walked in. Truth be told, I didn't see a very large party when I went in to use ladies room. All that being said, stay on top of wait staff for all items you've ordered. It's giving beach house, coastal town vacation home, with a really chill atmosphere. You order off of QR codes posted at the table and pay the bill online - minimal (but hospitable) staff interaction. It's one of my favorite spots for a casual hangout, and it fits a lot of different occasions: going out for drinks, midday or late night snacks, casual or not-so-casual lunch/dinner, or even a sweet treat moment (like their churros and gelato). The menu is comprised of a lot of small items so you can really mix-and-match depending on what your craving. Their tacos are street style (yummy, but small for the price) and you'll have to order a bunch to make a filling meal out of it. Also, don't sleep on their "not tacos" options! There are some gems in there and the list has a lot of variety like duck birria, plantains, kimchi, the option for half a chicken - truly build-your-own-adventure. Drinks are solid and especially good for tequila fans and/or anyone in the mood for sangria (their flights are yummy and their sangria can be made large format). My friend and I started off with large chips and guac to share-- the chips were more of a tostada but they were fun to break apart and tasted great! The guac was incredible- so fresh and plentiful. I ordered 3 tacos: 2 chicken verde & 1 shrimp. The waitress recommended 4-5 because they are quite small, and I would definitely recommend this as well-- especially because after one bite I instawanted like 15 more. I really enjoyed the chicken verde flavor, and the corn tortilla was among the best I've ever had. I also enjoyed the "A La Carte" style of ordering as you're able to order a variety of single tacos and continue ordering throughout your dinner. We had a large party of 7 and came here right around 5:30pm, and although it was clearly getting filled up very fast, we were able to get a table. Ordering was completely through QRcode, which was a little hard to navigate since they had so many things on their menu and reception or wifi was slow. Otherwise, our food came out in a timely manner and I liked how everything was served on the same kind of plate, making for easy table organizing when you order a lot. My favorite taco was by far the pork belly due to its sweet flavor and juiciness, and my second would be their duck which was topped with deliciously caramelized onions. I had mixed feelings about my visit tonight. The manager was great--welcoming me at 12 AM and letting me know I had a few minutes to order food. After watching the Yankees advance to the World Series at Yardhouse, I figured I'd treat myself to some tacos. Unfortunately, my experience with the bartender was far less positive. Instead of being greeted with hospitality, it felt like we were treated as an inconvenience. Rather than a warm "Can I get you something before the kitchen closes?" the bartender seemed upset, we were pulling her away from her conversation with friends in the corner. She rudely announced, "Last call, order your drinks," in a way that felt unnecessarily harsh and dismissive. Throughout the small time we were there , basic things like napkins and utensils were missing--we ended up using what was left behind by previous guests. It was disheartening to feel unwelcome, and the tone towards us felt like more than just impatience. As four Latino customers simply looking to enjoy some tacos, it felt like the bartender's attitude was rooted in something deeper--perhaps even racial bias. It's weird to hate on Latin guests , maybe you should stop with the culture appropriation if you don't want Latinos eating in your establishment If this establishment can't offer a welcoming experience to everyone, maybe it's time for a reflection on who they want to serve. I also enjoyed this one. - Chili-lime shrimp: I love shrimp so I always get it. It's more earthy-tasting from the chili. - Roasted duck: also very good, although I think there were less flavors in this one and more straight duck. The service was exceptional and the food was unbelievable - more specifically, all of the ingredients in each dish were noticeably thought out and well paired. As far as the food goes. The tacos are small and they recommend 3-5 for a "full meal". Flavors are decent but all of mine came out ... warm at best. The cauliflower one was a bit strange with the addition of pomegranate seeds, but it was ok. The mushroom one and falafel one were great. The duck was reportedly good though I didn't try it and the beef rice bowl was incredibly small but looked good (lol at adding avocado meaning two small slivers though). Overall the meal was made 1000% better by the addition of their hot sauces. (The habanero one is the best and is spicy ) The chips and dip trio I probably would pass on next time. The salsas were lacking in flavor and had a spice level -56 (again hot sauces saved the day). The gauc was pretty goodand had lots of chunky avocado. Since you order the tacos separately it can get pretty expensive but well...that's Boston I guess haha. Drinks were good. Spicy margarita had zero spice but good flavor, and the sangria was very good. Service is strange. Wait staff was very friendly but you order and pay and everything with their QR code (least if you sit outside). Can be a bit cumbersome to initiate but we ended up loving it. One star for the platains, pork belly tacos, and churros. Everything else unfortunately just doesn't hit the mark. I'll start with my only other bartaco experience was in DC at the wharf. I wasn't super impressed, and the reasons then still hold true at this new location unfortunately. However, I'd describe this visit as far more chaotic. We came here for a work dinner with 10 people, one bill. They gave us 3 extra menus to share between 10 people. The ordering system was more for family style dinner, where we were handed a piece of paper to mark off what we wanted. This makes it incredibly confusing when multiple people order multiple kinds of tacos. We ordered a slew of sides to share at the table which all came out first almost as if they were appetizers, though we were not asked if we wanted them with our meal or not. We did not have any sharing plates at the table and had to use the napkins as plates until we had to ask for sharing plates. We ordered two large guac + roja + verde + chips but they gave us two large guacs instead. Now onto the tacos. You don't get your choices on your own plate, and there is no ability for customization when ordering since it's basically a count for the whole table (ex. I don't want cilantro on my 3 tacos, but there's no way to specify out of the 8 chicken tacos, 5 beef, and 2 duck not to put cilantro on 1 of each of them). Instead we tried to ask for the cilantro on the side, so those that enjoy it can add it as they please (spoiler alert, none came on the side). The tacos themselves were brought out family style as mentioned, in a rather chaotic fashion. You'd have one tray with 5 beef tacos and 1 fish taco, another with 3 shrimp tacos and 2 falafel. It was just confusing and difficult passing around trays and trying to figure out which one was which. We never received the duck tacos and after telling three separate staff members that we didn't receive them they finally came out. Our party ordered a second round of a few tacos, and churros. This time the orders were in multiple order forms instead of one order form. The churros didn't come out and we were then asked if we wanted dessert, to which we expressed we already ordered dessert. We then waited a while for the churros to be made, and I would said those were the only thing really worth the wait here. Food reviews are as follows: Guac + chips: The guac was boring, seemed to be just avocado and cilantro served with whole tortillas you have to break yourself. Not chips. It was okay after dumping the table hot sauce on it. Pineapple Tajin w/ Lime: came missing lime. Nothing special, just exactly what it says it is. Platains: Simple, but one of the highlights of the meal. I wouldn't say they were tossed in cayenne as stated but definitely salted. Honestly don't know what the dipping sauce was. Street corn: Same review as my previous experience. Needs more flavor, or a char to the corn. Just bland for street corn. Pork belly taco: Best taco on the menu. With that said, it's probably the simplest, and pork belly is already delicious so I'm not sure that's saying much. Spiced Chicken Verde taco: Way too much aquacate salsa but not terrible in terms of flavor. I would rank it second Sesame Ribeye taco: the beef was way too salty and there was so little in comparison to the amount of Kimchi that topped it. A little Kimchi goes a lot way, and this was way too much. Roasted Duck taco: it just doesn't really fif the profile of a taco. It's altogether too mushy. The favors are good, but perhaps in a different application. Churros: served hot and arguably the best part of the meal. Allow for time for them to cook them. They come with 4 churros, chocolate, and vanilla sauce. The chocolate sauce was nothing to write home about but the vanilla really made this dessert worth it, which says a lot since I'm (as well as most people at our table were) typically a chocolate person.
