Watch out when you pull into the parking structure from Millbrae Avenue. There is a sign at the entrance of the garage to "note your parking stall number". We made the mistake of walking all the way to the escalators before realizing we should note our stall number. I love this station. You can smoke at it because it is outside, and It connects my two favorite public transit agencies together. It's too bad I have to take a star away for this connecting station between the two transit agencies not being located in san francisco. I also have to take another star away for bart forcing all travellers to and from this bart station must also stop at the airport for 15 minutes on the way. read more

Good station, very bright. Parking never a problem. The only issue I have is the fact that you must take the Millbrae train as opposed to San Bruno or SSF or Colma, where you could also swing through on the SFO train. This also means when going to SF you must wait every 15 min instead of, say, 7 or 8 min when the Pittsburg/Bay Pt train comes around. Is San Bruno station safe? I posted a review on that station; although the police station is right there, the area still seems to feel a bit sketchy. Not so bad, but just a bit at night. Anyone know? read more

This station looks like an airport. BART takes you to the east bay and to the airport and caltrain takes you to the south bay! Two free shuttles for caltrain one goes to north burlingame and one goes to broadway on burlingame. Its perhaps one of the most crowded stops. But its good for commuters like myself read more

Right next to 101 and great for South-bay people to park at when heading into the city or going to the Airport. The security is pretty good. Last time I was there a bunch of people were cruising through the parking lot going 100mph and a bunch of police swooped in right away to pick them up. I feel like my car is pretty safe here. Be aware if you are flying out of SFO and parking at Bart. The last train is at 11:40. I showed up a bit later thinking there would be a direct train around on Sunday to the SFO station but the gates were locked and I had to take a taxi to pick up my car which was a pain. Edit: I got a message 12mins after I posted that the last train is at 1:15pm accessible from the international terminal. The upstairs gate is locked at 11:40pm. They should have a sign out for this for visitors to know. It is also really easy to transfer to Caltrain from this station but sometimes you have to wait up to an hour for a train. read more

It's a transfer point to CalTrain and BART, as well as bus transportation. It's a commuter station with a big (sometimes confusing due to permits and such) parking structure. There are sketchy people at night. The elevators smell of pee. I don't think I've ever seen Platform 1 or 2 in action. The escalators never head in the direction you'd like them to when you're tired. And CalTrain takes about an hour between trains on random weekdays and weekends. If you're flying out of SFO and you're on the Peninsula side, it's a better solution that parking at the airport. The overnight parking is less expensive compared to everything else around the airport. If you're headed up to SF for Gay Pride, it's a free parking solution for that weekend. Same goes for a few other big City celebrations. But, if you get over the sketchiness, the smelly elevators, confusing parking structure and patrons, it's a good terminus station. read more

I really like this BART station - as a resident of the South Bay, this is the best option for getting to the city on the weekend. I like to drive here and park (it's FREE on the weekends) and the BART has a lot of flexibility in terms of having stops all around the major parts of the city. read more

User Friendly Machines - No. For someone who had never been on BART I pictured it to be like the subway system (also, have never been on), It seemed a little confusing to buy a ticket and know exactly where you are going and how to reload money. (Cal-train seems so easy, you know where you go and exactly how much you pay.) There were no signs to clearly display. I totally agree with everyone else, carry CASH. Awesome and cheap way to get between SFO and San Jose. I've taken the BART three times getting to and from SFO to different South Bay areas. This reminds me of my hometown MARTA station back in Atlanta. This station is clean and the connection to CalTrain is easy. read more

This place is 5 stars worthy for commuters who live on the peninsula, because it's super convenient even if traffic is always shitty on 101. It definitely beats paying $30/day at a parking garage a block from the office vs BART station right outside the door. But -1 star because of the crappy new Millbrae-SFO ride. Before, all the trains would pass through the airport. Yeah, it kind of sucked, but not that big of a deal. Fast and environment friendly way to get around in the bay area. Get a Clipper card it saves you like $4 for every $60 you spend, and you have an account tied to your money so if you lose your card you don't also lose the money associated with it. It's worth it--especially if you commute to work. The seats can be kinda NASTY and SMELLY so watch out where you sit. But for the most part they're really comfy and relaxing. PARKING is so EASY (and cheap) here :) $1 a day for the weekday, free nights and weekends. read more

Overall this is a good station to catch a ride up to the City. There's plenty of parking and they keep the place pretty clean. It's easy to refill your Clipper card and the machines and turnstiles are almost always working, which isn't the case at other stations. read more

There's a ton of free parking at this station, which is great when you compare it with other end-of-the-line BART stations like Dublin/Pleasanton. If you don't get here before about 8:30 or so most mornings, you'll still get a parking spot, but you may have an epic journey to the BART platform. Across the road, past the long row of bus stops, up the stairs, through the faregate and down the stairs again to the platform. It's something you really have to plan for if you're trying to catch a particular train! Taking BART from Millbrae these days means a 5+ minute stop at SFO, which a lot of commuters find irritating. I recently read that the service between Millbrae and SFO is going to be discontinued next January 1, so that BART can compete with Caltrain for the Millbrae-downtown SF commuters. I think the issues with MUNI (which many need to transfer to after Caltrain) are already working to BART's advantage! read more

Had taken Bart for the first time yesterday! Very proud of myself... I was able to buy my ticket and arrive to my destination!!! I'm not public transit savvy :/ but I made it! Yay! It was kind of loud, shaky, had me wondering of earthquakes...but it got me to my destination! Easy to purchase tickets and ride! Highly recommended for when there's traffic. And it wasn't busy...Seats were available and arrived to my destination on time! If I could give negative stars I would. Bar-none the WORST transition system I have EVER used. Dirty, slow, late and so poorly designed it boggles the mind it still operates. That it takes almost an hour to get from milbrea to sfo is mindblowing. It's as if they try to make you want to take Uber, which would only take 5 minutes!!! read more

Great BART station. I literally got off the Northbound Caltrain, walked about 100 feet to the BART ticket machine and got my BART ticket. I was headed to the SF Giants victory parade with thousand of other fans. This station is huge, clean, well lit and accommodates a lot of folks. Seems like it is a major hub for our Bay Area Caltrain/BART/Muni public transportation system, of which I am quite proud. -1 star: bathroom had no toilet paper, no paper towel, hand dryer wasn't working either and there was rusty crusty around the inside door edge and vent cover was even more rustier & crustier. read more

Ok, am I really reviewing a BART station on Yelp?! Guess so, alrighty then. The parking is awesome here, it's mostly free. Mostly, because it appears they are charging a $1 to park from 6am-3pm or some hours like that during the week. Yeah, one dollar. :) I just wish BART was non-stop from Millbrae right into downtown SF. Thats one boring ride. And don't do what I did by falling asleep on the ride in and being on the same train going back to SF... (don't worry, I managed to get off in San Bruno). Good times! read more

Biggest BART station and convenient parking as well. Be careful while turning right on Rollins road. If you don't make a stop when the light is not green, chances are you might get a ticket.. but these days I notice that the cameras are relaxed a bit and lets you turn if you have stopped and steer right slowly. All trains head north and do stop at all stations up till Embarcadero. Very convenient! read more

I think it's so funny that BART and Caltrain are actually separate Yelp entities even though they're pretty much merged together. Anyways, dull BART station that rarely has well-timed arrivals with Caltrain. I've never had to wait going from Caltrain to BART direction since BARTs come and go pretty frequently--I do love that this is an easy connection to just about anywhere. But going from BART to Caltrain always sucks because I'm stuck waiting around for an hour for the Caltrain to come. Anyways, there's not much to do here. I guess it does smell better than other BART stations as some Yelp reviewers have said, but definitely not much to do and pretty lackluster. read more

Probably the best/most well lit BART station there is. I frequent the parking garage bekuz it has a nice view. It used to be free parking, but now a $1 a day. This is one of the best looking Bart/Cal Train stations in the Bay area in my opinion. I ride both the Cal train and the Bart so this is convenient! PARKING yeah! whoo hoo! Yes there is stairs involved, but I should be working out anyways. Kind of tricky so you need to figure out what your route is before coming here. Meaning that yes its hard to find some bodies that can answer your questions. So i had to do trial and error. Once you get the hang of it you will LOVE this station! It's a BART station. What more do you expect. Parking is OK, but man, on a busy day expect to circle a few times. With they had more spots that EV cars can take advantage of. It's fairly clean, well lit, and safe. I still wish you could catch an SFO Bart from here as then I would choose this for my long term parking, but ohwell, not much of a nitpick. read more

A convenient place for both BART and Caltrain. And nothing beats the free parking - the lots are not filled most days. The signs are still a bit chaotic, and not all the lines are being used optimally. But still the city must be in a deep hole financially - they installed traffic cameras at Millbrae/Rollins junction. This is a very pretty station. Having to go up 2 floors and then back down to change trains isn't ideal, but the escalators and elevator are always working, so we're cool. The bathroom isn't clean clean, but it's still one of the best I've seen among BART stations. Free parking! 10-minute walk from all kinds of good little restaurants and conveniences (banks, Safeway, Trader Joe's), which is good for a suburbia station. read more

This is by far the best Bart station there is. It's the safest, the cleanest, and has almost an identical look to SFO. It stands out from the rest. Parking is great and the location is very ideal. It might as well be called the Millingame Bart stop because just half a block away is the Burlingame City limits. It's also right down the street from my house. I can walk, bike, or drive there with no worries. It's makes living on the Peninsula just that much more convenient. read more

I choose Bart over Caltrain because I was going to downtown SF. More depatures than Caltrain and $4 one way ride vs. $4.25 one way by Caltrain. Baby bullet is twice as fast if I was in a time crunch and was going to the 4th/king area. Definately one of the better stations. Safe, clean, & easy parking. Grab a cup of joe at the Carmel Valley Roasting across the street if you have time and enjoy the ride into the city. read more

Millbrae BART Station is a very convenient transfer point to get North or South. And I know why it smells chocolate there...:) There' s See's Candies factory down the Rollins Road... I used to love taking BART from here. I live in Redwood City, and it was great to not have to take my car into the city. UNTIL, two weeks ago, I received a citation for not stopping long enough before making a right turn at the intersection of Millbrae Ave. and Rollins Road. I have an absolutely clean driving record. Ticket was for "not stopping long enough" -- I stopped 2.86 seconds (with no cross traffic) before making the right turn. (Four pictures were taken by the signal light camera) I figure the city of Millbrae is making a fat killing from these cameras. They say it's for "safety"? I've seen so many cars speeding elsewhere in Millbrae. I even saw a car run a red light (lucky for that person, not at the intersection of Millbrae Ave and Rollins), no cop in sight. How does ticketing someone like me (also known as "the slowest driver on earth") help safety? I did research on the web and found a news article that said from the time the camera was installed, Sept. 2006, to sometime 2007, the city of Millbrae collected $100,000 in fines from this one camera. That was when the fine was $340. The fine (which was nowhere on the notice, or on the "courtesy notification" which came 10 days later; I had to call the Superior Court and listen to a lot of messages, first in English then in Spanish), was $446, plus $57 to avail of the traffic school option, plus $25 for "additional administrative costs." Traffic school was an additional $45. Almost $600, and I'm a very safe driver. I'm NEVER taking BART again. read more

The system here for validating parking is awful. First, there are no actual directions posted in the parking structure. You need to remember your stall number, but nothing tells you until you've walked all the way to the station. Then, the machine to validate parking is inside of the ticketed area. What?! So I use my clipper card to enter, go up to the machine to pay, and it won't let you validate parking with a clipper card! You need a paper ticket or cash (the one day I didn't bring cash...). So now I need to leave the ticketed area, buy a paper ticket and come back and validate parking. This is a completely worthless and nonsensical system. read more

I used the BART station airport parking for a Friday to Sunday parking. Once I paid in the select-a-spot website I was given a permit number. The instructions asked me to park in the permit area. When I reached the parking lot, almost all parking lots said that they were daily parking spots. I could not locate the overnight parking in time. Eventually, I was running out of time, and just parked in the midday parking spot. I spent some very stressful minutes in reading the instructions several times till I eventually figured out its OK to park the car in any spot if you enter the parking after 10am. However it will be useful to send a map of the parking area with the select-a-spot confirmation email. Even better, please highlight the area reserved for long-term parking with a different color in the map. Also, it will be great if you could integrate the payment for airport parking with clipper card, so that way the BART authorities can ensure whether or not the passenger really took the roundtrip BART to the airport. What would be the best is to not make it mandatory to take the BART to the airport, instead they can charge extra 4.5$ if the person does not take the BART to the airport. All this would need upgrade of the system to use clipper card, so I know it is difficult to implement and enforce, but it will make the transit time more predictable. The worst thing about the select-a-spot website is that it will save your credit card information even if you are going to use the system once in your lifetime. All in all, the system is not geared towards people who would need to use the parking once in a blue moon. Update2: I used the parking as ALTP for the Thanksgiving weekend. Now that I already knew that I could park anywhere, the experience was pretty smooth. It was significantly cheaper to park at BART station than other airport parking options. I also got a direct BART from Millbrae to SFO (last time I needed to go to San Bruno and take another BART to SFO). The only thing that added to hassle was printing the select-a-spot confirmation, but overall, with a little practice, it was much easier to use the BART. read more
