I opted for the Por que no el Puerco on the cashier-recommended pretzel bun. The flavors and the layers were sensational. A great bite without being too heavy or too greasy. The pretzel bun was also a great choice - some salt but not trying to actively dehydrate you with every bite. The Bear bottled latte was also quite good. It was a very unique flavor profile with obviously lots of banana but it took a little getting used to being mixed with the bitterness of the coffee and some of the nuttiness of the hazelnut and oat milk. I'm not sure I'd go out of my way to get it again, but with the limited coffee options here, I wouldn't not get it either. Overall, a really solid place to stop. Not necessarily the best place to go if you're looking for breakfast AND coffee, but certainly a great local joint to check out!

A few people dining in, but it was past the lunch rush. It's a small place. A few large picnic style tables and some seating by the open windows and order counter. I ordered the Roger Roger and two chocolate chip cookies. They didn't have the cookies sitting by the register but they had just made a fresh batch. Sandwiches are made to order of course. The Roger Roger had: capicola, pepperoni, smoked cheddar, lettuce, tomato, spicy mustard, giardiniera. It wasn't heavy (I ate half) and the bread wasn't that dense. In fact, the bread kinda sold me on the sandwich. It tasted fresh...much better than what you get at any of the usual chains. And the cookies were absolute perfection! Crunchy on the outside but soft inside. Wow! And they're kinda large. I ate half of one and saved the rest. I don't eat sandwiches often but this has got to be one of my favorites in the city. Firstly, the quality of the food was exceptional, which is fundamentally what a diner should deliver. We ordered a DK glazed donut, which met expectations, and I chose the Meat & Cheese omelet, which was comparable to other diner offerings. My husband ordered a skillet dish, which he reported as satisfactory. Although visually unremarkable, the taste was commendable. However, the service was disappointing and almost non-existent. During a busy period, there was no hostess apparent, forcing us to inquire at the cashier area about seating. They took our contact information, and shortly afterward, our table was ready. We were seated and provided menus, but the wait for a server to take our order was excessively long. It was indicated that coffee was self-serve and that customers should select their own mug. Subsequently, we observed no further service at our table, and the food was delivered by staff members elsewhere. I had to locate condiments independently. After finishing our meal, we returned to the cashier to settle our bill, which was not presented to us. The seating area within the diner is small, which is expected given the establishment's size. One additional concern is parking: the lot accommodates approximately seven vehicles, and street parking in Grandview Heights is limited. This constrains accessibility and could diminish visitors' overall experience in the area. It is hoped that in the future, the service at this establishment will align with the high quality of its cuisine.
