Barrier Pest Solutions did a great job. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and professional throughout the service. I appreciated that they didn't try to upsell me on anything I didn't need. Fair pricing, quality work, and overall a great experience. Highly recommend them! read more

If you enjoy begging a business to take your money while they aggressively ignore you, Barrier Pest Control is the perfect choice. I was ready to hand over $325 for a one time treatment. No discounts, no special requests, no hassle. Just a straightforward transaction. The co-owner text-spammed me first, explicitly stating I could reply via text. But the moment I asked a basic scheduling question, they apparently forgot where the reply button was. Instead of texting back, they completely disrespected my boundary and called me. When I reminded them I needed the availability in writing, they poofed like a fart in the wind. For over six hours, a simple question about open calendar slots was apparently too complex for them to handle. But here's the kicker: after being ghosted all day, I texted that I was taking my business elsewhere. Astonishingly, they instantly found the reply button! They replied in under two minutes with a passive-aggressive, "Okay have a wonderful weekend." So, they aren't incapable of texting; they're just profoundly lazy and lack basic business literacy. If this is how this business treats a paying customer before getting their money, imagine the absolute nightmare you'll face once they have your cash. They didn't just lose my business; they proved they're too unprofessional to function. Save your sanity, avoid their terrible operations, and call a company that actually wants your business. read more

Barrier Pest Solutions provided inadequate service to my residence for three years. Initially, it appeared as though it was a fairly decent company, as their representatives were cordial. However, the dilemma with Barrier Pest Solutions is their claim that a sufficient service would be performed and billed roughly $120 per every three months. In actuality, this has, consistently, proved to be an insufficient service. Indeed, it was necessary to re-treat my residence prior to the next service date. In fact, the chemicals used were hardly ever effective for a term of three full months. CONSUMER WARNING: Barrier offers a "free return-service" if needed. At face-value this appears reasonable. Although not initially disclosed, there exists an inconvenient 'fine print' permitting Barrier to charge the account if the request for return-service fails to meet specific terms and conditions. As a result, I terminated service with Barrier. Within a short window of time, having second thoughts concerning the termination of a family-owned business, I respectfully requested services to be reinstated. Several repeated inquiries went unanswered. With a little persistence, a response to the inquiry was ultimately received: Short answer -- Yes, of course, you may be reinstated, but NOT at the rate which was billed previously. The new rate: $120 for services performed and invoiced every TWO months, a drastic one-third increase billed to the consumer. Conclusively, Barrier grew weary of honoring their return-service policy. Therefore the previous agreement was withdrawn. From my perspective, it was an error in judgement that Barrier denied the request for reinstatement under the terms of our previous agreement while replying with a counter-offer at a steep 33% rate increase. In retrospect, considering Barriers brazen counter-proposal, I am satisfied of the decision to terminate service. Although, I would make the argument, that Barrier essentially terminated the agreement by means of failure to adhere to its own terms and conditions as presented to the consumer. read more

We are new tenants in a rental, and after 3 days living in it, we realized there were rats in the garage and attic. Tons in the backyard, but we aren't worried about those ones. My new landlord, called this company to come out for the problems. They set a few traps and plugged a few holes then said they'd be back within a few weeks. Nothing happened for a month. No dead rats, no come backs from Barrier. The rats had gotten worse in the past month. So I angrily called them back, and my landlord was ready to fire them to get out of the contract that he signed. (I have no idea what amount, or what type of contract) In comes Brandon! Their superstar employee. This guy was amazing! Within 7 minutes of walking into my house, he had found 6 to 8 holes that the rats were coming into the house, at the furnace and water heater closets. He then grabbed his ladder and climbed up into the attic, without hesitation (something that the other employees did not do), next he was under the house, in the muck and mud, placing bait a station, and multiple snap traps. This guy is no garden gnome, either. Easily 6' at least 200lbs. Crawled both the attic, and underneath the house, plugged holes, and set traps all over the place, within 40 minutes this man did more than the entire company had attempted for an entire month. Hat is tipped for Brandon. Awesome employee. He saved his boss a lot of problems with my new landlord. Who was about to do something to them. Congratulations Brandon! read more

We have been using Barrier Pest for the last three years and couldn't be happier. They were originally recommended by my father in law as he's been using them for many years. As new homeowners three years ago we had no clue who to use as a reliable and trustworthy pest control company but I'm glad we went with Barrier Pest. Jared was our tech up until earlier this year. Outstanding employee! We have someone else now who is just as friendly and respectful, however, I'm drawing a blank on his name! They always give a courtesy call a day or so before visiting, ring our doorbell to let us know they've arrived, and do a check in to see if we have any new concerns since their last visit. A visit is made every other month which works great for us. We have had two isolated incidents over the span of our three years here where they needed to come treat our property. I believe it's one free visit in between those two months before the next treatment. When trying to get ahold of someone it's extremely easy and always a pleasant experience with the assistance that's offered. Rates were comparable to other company's we had also looked into. We still get offers from other pest company's that are used in our neighborhood but I have no reason to switch. Give Barrier a call today if you're in need of pest control! read more

Excellent customer service, well mannered, timely follow up and follow through, extremely fair prices, very thorough and honest! This family owned business is a unicorn among businesses today! It's very rare to have people respond, follow up and be honest and ethical in all their dealings in addition to being courteous! Barrier Pest Solutions came highly recommended by a friend. From the first time I called them until they came out for my first service and afterward, when I had additional questions, I found them to be extremely responsive. After having Terminix for 12 years and dealing with their shenanigans and their lack of follow up and follow through, no-shows by their technicians, money still being debited from my account even after my contract was terminated, no callbacks from management every single time there was a problem or an issue, I regret not calling Barrier Pest Solutions earlier! read more

Barrier Pest Solutions is a really responsive and responsible company. They have a phone system that greets you with friendliness and directs you to the right person. This is a family owned business owned by Tony, Olivia, and their two boys. They will schedule you to your convenience and are on time. I recommend Barrier to anyone who has a problem with ants, rodents, and other creepy crawlers. read more

Salvador and his dad were super helpful in identifying what kind of roach we had in a timely manner (I was freaking out, so I appreciated the speediness). We've never had our home sprayed before, but the service was easy and pleasant, and we feel protected now for a few months. Great family business! read more

This is the second time I have called on Barrier Pest Solutions for service. This time it was for termites found when having some wood paneling replaced. They sent their termite inspection specialist, Jesus. I was so impressed with his level of knowledge, time taken to politely answer questions and how thorough the service was done. I was especially impressed with their ability to do the additional construction service needed to prevent further infestation to weakened wood sites that were carefully shown to me. I asked if they send in another contractor to do the construction, but they said Jesus was also able to do the construction work recommended too. Their price was more than fair considering all the work he did SINGLE HANDED and in a reasonable amount of time! read more

So, the TL;DR version is we are very happy with Barrier Pest Solutions, and our dispatcher, Sato. They are definitely worth a try if you're having a problem with your current pest control provider. The whole review: Our brief history is that we worked with a few companies the last few years who involved Pegasus, and then Ecolab for roach control. They both did well for the first 1 to 2 months, and then just became awful afterwards. Only when we were about to leave them is when they started to make a little more efforts on their parts, and it would go back to the same bad quality of service and high turn around of dispatchers. It was complete chance when our restaurant owner saw the Barrier Pest Solutions truck. He approached them asking about their services. After scheduling an appointment, Sato arrived on time, and was sociable and very informative about the methods he was going to do to keep the pests away. We have been working with BPS since February of 2019 and RARELY see any pests anymore. It is a total night and day experience from the experience we have had with the previous pest control companies. We have no problem referring BPS to others. **If anything happens, we will be sure to update our review. So, if it's still 5 star positive, then we are still getting good service and are still very happy.** read more

Seriously amazing. Their packages are great and priced well. I saw a dead roach in my spare bathroom, called them up and within an hour they sent someone out to spray my house. Even came in and picked the roach up for me! (Bugs in my house ain't my thing). Truly impressed and will be using them for a very long time. read more

Very effective, consistent, and professional company. You can tell that Barrier cares for their employees as much as they do their customers, they function like a local fortune 500 company. Have been with them for about 8 months or so. Great service and happy with the results. Very easy to work with and Olivia is very good at managing the operational structure. This type of management is ideal in this of business environment now. Almost all companies I have dealt with that utilize an operational manager seem to have it all streamlined to benefit the customer. Barrier is no exception. I appreciate the service and, when an issue arises at my house, they explain options to tackle the problem. read more

We switched to Barrier from Official Pest Control and we couldn't be happier! Very knowledgeable, professional and extremely friendly! Olivia does an amazing job working in where they can come out to best suit our schedule since we have pets that we need to keep indoors while they spray. I found Barrier through a friend who recommended them. They came out the day I called and took care my overwhelming ant problem. Two things really impressed me: 1 - I was not required to sign a contract!! They were happy to just service me the one time. I decided to take out a quarterly maintenance program - again - no contract, I can cancel at any time! 2. This is a real family owned business. Mom works the office, dad and son are the technicians. It's a real mom and pop business. They do a great job at competitive prices. I would highly recommend this local business to anyone. read more

Barrier usually doesn't service Davis, but Olivia graciously scheduled us for an inspection because we have a new HVAC system being installed next week. In addition, Anthony juggled his time to come two days earlier. You don't often find customer service like that! The inspection was very thorough, and it was a pleasure to do business with Anthony. He shared many helpful suggestions with my husband as to proactive measures to continue to keep the attics pest free. We are extremely happy to have found Barrier, and I highly recommend this company. read more

Absolutely wonderful customer service, from the front office to the techs. We moved into a place where spiders were a bit of a problem and Barrier was recommended to us. After they came out for the initial service, we've never had a problem again, something I owe to our bimonthly continued service! They also came outside of our normal schedule to take care of ants in the kitchen - something that wasn't extra, it was included as a part of our regular service! I also can't begin to say enough about how great Olivia is to work with every time I call to pay the bill or have other questions. She's friendly, knowledgeable, and is a joy to work with. Highly recommended for anyone in the Sacramento area with a pest problem! read more

Excellent customer service and fast turnaround time when you have those unexpected Pest outbreaks. Last summer we had a mosquito hawk infestation in our lawn. It was really disgusting. We called up barrier and yelled for help. Olivia dispatched Salvador out in the field and he made it to her house in 15 minutes from my call. He serviced the front and back lawn and killed the critters that were buzzing around. He even found a few we didn't know about(black widows). Then there was this one time after a really big storm that every ant on the planet decided to come out of our light sockets, vents and inside our beds. It was something out of a horror film . Tony came out and saved the day . After he laid the bait the ants were gone in less than 12 hours . It's a family run business, which means personalized customer service. I really love that! They provide great pest service and excellent customer service. I highly recommend you check them out for your pest needs. Oh and I should also mention we have 6 dogs and they helped us to eradicate the flea problem we had. Flea free for the last 8 months. read more
