Went this afternoon at 4:00 for an early dinner & drinks & had terrible service! It started at the hostess station where there were 3 women who clearly had no interest in filling the restaurant. They acted like it was their 1st day. Two of them were talking while the 3rd was chitchatting with the 2 men in front of us. Then we where told there was a wait when there were plenty of empty tables. Then we got seated outside at the railing. It was terribly hot & I had to ask 3 different people if they could turn on the fans. It took forever to get the manager to turn them on. The service was extremely slow & the servers clearly didn't know the table numbers. We watched them hunt for the tables where the food went. We got 2 drinks & a disappointing appetizer. The triple decker which was tortilla chips with salsa, queso & guacamole which was clearly from a package instead of freshly made. We got the summer salad to go because it was so hot & those were terrible too. The bacon bits were hard & fatty & it was supposed have sunflower seeds but it didn't. I enjoyed my trip to Barrett's overall. The food was excellent in all respects, presented well, delicious, great portions. We actually went specifically for the advertised chicken and waffles special and it was fantastic. I can see that it's a bit on the expensive side, especially for the interior ambiance of a large, hollow, sports bar. I didn't expect the sheer number of TV screens everywhere - on every single wall. It was fun given that the Olympics were on, but if I had been hoping for an experience less focused on distracting screens everywhere, that would have been disappointing. Without them, the place could almost border on classy. The place doesn't seem to know what it wants to be: the prices and menu say upscale, but the giant screens and the packed in tables and crowded, hurried, slightly loud environment said sports bar. I can also see why the reviews vary based on the service. I arrived and was initially told there was a 1 hour wait, so I actually left and began driving elsewhere. It turned out a table for 2 on a Saturday night at about 7:30pm was ready in 20 minutes, so I went back and got the table. There were a lot of staff around and everyone was hurried and working hard. Listen...this is classically one of our FAVORITE local places. My bf and I park, walk the boardwalk, call in our pick up order, walk back, pick up our delicious food, and enjoy at home, as per this day and age. Unfortunately, tonight we ordered one of our favorite things, the cobb salad, which we've ordered many times, only to arrive and be asked to pay $17 & change for it; much more than we've paid in the past; mind you, no protein added. I said, "It's just a cobb salad," when told the total, to which he said, "Yes." When we got home, we saw a lot of lettuce, 1/8 of a sliced avocado,1/2 a hard-boiled egg, 1 tblsp. of blue crumbles, 6 grape tomatoes, and 1 tblsp. of red peppers. There wasn't ANY bacon. I get that you're trying to "come back" from the Covid situation, but, guess what? You just LOST very loyal customers who have RELATIVES that work for you; customers who will YELP only when their experience is exceptionally bad or good! Dumb strategy!! What you SHOULD HAVE DONE, to regain momentum, was to LOWER prices, let that catch on, and watch the customers gather!! read more

I'm only giving one star because I can't give ZERO! Ordered $100 worth of food tonight via Door Dash against my better judgment. We have ordered from them a couple of times in the past and had some issues come up, but this one officially takes the cake and we will never ... ever ... order from here again. Throw in the other Barrett's too since it's the same family owners! We asked specifically for our chicken tenders to have extra sweet chili sauce. Seems simple, right? Apparently wrong. Apparently there is some crazy shortage of Sweet Chili sauce that the world doesn't know about or that the media just isn't covering. Not sure. Anywho, we called the restaurant to request they be made as ordered. My husband simply said he just wanted a new order made with extra sauce and he would go pick them up. The hostess continued to question him up and down about the order. He was then transferred to the manager who was even worse and hung up on my husband ... not once but twice. To me the solution is simple. It goes something like this ... "Oh I'm sorry for your frustration. Yes, come on down we will make you another.". I mean ... is it that difficult? It's a $15 order of chicken tenders. Is it going to make or break your profit? Probably not. Management did not do their job and this is a horrible representation of their company. Why is it that the customer is always right, until you're the customer? My baked stuffed scallops were good though, so there ya go. There's that one star! read more

I was very excited to try this restaurant. I love Barrett's and thought this would be a upscale version of that. We started with prime rib egg rolls. They were gross! They tasted as if they were made weeks ago and just tossed into a fryer. The middle was ice cold and just not very flavorful. For my meal I ordered the Portuguese burger. It was ok. Nothing special. Didn't taste Portuguese at all except for an egg on it. Not anything I would have to order again. Typical burger - have had better. I Will never go back. Finally made it out to Barrett's Waterfront tonight and my overall review was mixed. The good - There wasn't a wait for a table, the staff was friendly and everything was clean The mediocre - While there wasn't a wait for a table, the wait for our waitress was a good 7-8 minutes after being seated. The drinks took an additional 7-8 minutes (non alcoholic). Upon completion of our meal and receiving boxes for the leftovers, another 7-8 minute wait. Conclusion - It's possible I caught them on a bad night but it was concerning the place was approximately 40% to capacity and seemed well staffed but a lot of wait time. I'd give them another shot to see if the service was a fluke. Overall, a clean restaurant with great views of the water and lots of televisions for sporting events. read more

Very slow service, overpriced and rude staff. Ordered a cocktail and it had too much sour mix. Drank the cocktail but asked our waitress for less sour mix in the next drink. She brought it out to us and the cocktail still had the same amount of sour mix. Since service was extremely slow, we brought it back to the bar and asked for something different. Never had a bad time before till lastnight and it wasn't even that busy started good than waitress brought our table of four 2 waters we asked for 2 more took 15 mins for her to bring them and take our orders. We finally got out food but than none of the dips came and the waitress was no where to be found she was dealing with a 20 top no problem but another waiter was standing around doing nothing why couldn't they help eachother. Finally she cane back now over an hour i ask for water refills and three more drinks. All three of our drinks were straight seltzer they werent mix correctly and no water refills another 20 went by she shows up i ask for the drinks to be taken off the bill cause they were seltzer no apology no want them remade just ok at this point we ate all our food including wings dry. The kicker she gives us the bill and a shot of makers mark is added on we didnt have that took 15 more mins to show her so she gave us our correct bill another 25 for us to pay so 3 hours like no organization no help very disappointing read more

The only reason I'm giving this even two stars is because it's a beautiful location and the ambiance is really nice. Everything else was horrible. The food food was terrible - my medium well burger came out as a charred, inedible hockey puck, and we had to send a drink back because there was a fly floating in it. On top of that, they tried to argue that it could have been something from the olive juice and not a fly, even tho you could clearly see the wings on it. The service was just as bad - when my dinner came out wrong, it took over ten minutes for her to come back and check on us, at which point my husbands dinner was almost finished. The bar ran out of the beer my husband ordered and that took another ten minutes to find out. This location might be nice in the summer when you can sit on the water, but that's the only pro. Skip this place and go a few minutes further to the other Fall River Barrett's. read more

I'll star off with the positive since there weren't many. Great deck and view. The table was ready ahead of schedule which was good because it was a late reservation. We sat for at least 15 minutes before we saw a waitstaff member. We had a few food allergies at the table and the options were limited. Person with gluten allergy was served a gluten free meal with regular bread. Luckily she knows what to look for. Management did take it off the bill. - Appetizers took forever. Portuguese steak was served on a plate with sticky rice a few fries and no steak knife. No water unless asked specifically for it. Then had to ask twice. Management was attentive but seemed the kitchen was off beat. The waitress came back to the table at least 4 times to verify choices. Beautiful building, they just need a good restaurant! read more

Went to Barrett's Waterfront last night, the place is very nice inside and outside. The atmosphere was great too. Our waitress was very attentive especially with us being a party of 6 I can see how that could get overwhelming for her. But she handled it well!! I could never be a waitress so unless they are miserable and rude I always give the waitresses props !! The only issue was the flatbread that I was craving literally all day was so raw ! It looked cooked on the outside (kinda) but once you ripped it apart every slice was raw, and I mean to the point where I cut one in half and I could literally roll wet dough. I was so disappointed possibly due to being extremely hungry, I was going to eat it anyway but my cousin I was with insisted we send it back because we technically split it so I said ok. Less then 5 mins later here comes our original pizza which I thought was kinda strange I would think they SHOULD HAVE make a new one but anyway he dropped it off to the table and you could still see the middle was raw, he asked if it was ok and I just "yea I guess it's good enough ..??!!" But again IM STARVING over here, honestly it was disgusting. They shouldn't have brought it back to the table that way. The waitress came over and said "the cook doesn't understand because he cooks the dough first" .... ok that's fine. But.... it's not cooked !!! The flavor was good(Buffalo chicken flatbread) but it just wasn't cooked. Pizza needs to be cooked. In my personal opinion your a newer establishment, you want people to want to come back! Make a flatbread which is probably the simplest thing on the menu right the first time!! People will judge that big time, if you can't make a flatbread then who's to say you can correctly make all these fancy food selections ??? My cousin ended up ordering a new meal which took way to long to come and and she said was "okay" ... They should have made a fresh one too not take food back we've already touched and put it back in the oven or however they do it ! I thought that was kinda weird and gross but again my opinion. Also a flatbread can be over cooked a little before UNDERCOOKED. just sayin' ... besides that the drinks were cold and the rest of the people I was with said there food was good and I'm sure it was. We had a late lunch at Barrett's Waterfront today. We are celebrating our vaccines but COVID continues... From the first moment we entered Barretts's Waterfront, we felt comfortable and relaxed. The hostess was friendly (and had a mask on), brought us to us to a lovely spot (many feet away from other diners), Ashley (the server) quickly approached us, was charming and thorough, the wait wasn't too long, and our meals were fantastic! I ordered the Buffalo chicken dip, good taste....boring after a while and crunchy chips but the carrots and celery were gross, why even put them on the plate? If you won't eat them don't serve them. My husband and I visited for the first time and are extremely grateful that we did. The interior of the building is gorgeous and the food was fabulous! The Mediterranean Chicken Wrap was so big that half is going home. The paella was ENORMOUS and will definitely allow me to enjoy 3-4 more meals from what l couldn't even consider finishing. Our bartender, Ashley who is sweet and efficient, crafted one of the tastiest Espresso Martinis l have ever enjoyed. We will definitely return again soon. read more

I don't usually post a review however I wanted to let every one know that I called the manager Bobby this morning to let her know that I had food poisoning and was very sick last night with vomiting and diarrhea. She adamantly stated that I did not have food poisoning. She obviously does not understand the symptoms of food poisoning and the timeframe. The only reason for my call was to hopefully save other people from suffering food poisoning as well. I shared with her what I had for dinner and she seemed completely disinterested in talking to me. This restaurant needs to work with their managers to be more empathetic and understanding of their patrons. Looked like only 2 servers for the whole place waited awhile for our orders to be placed food comes and some of the orders are incorrect. Ordered a Portuguese burger...no chourico on it...ordered more drinks and water. Had to go ask for them again since people were eating with no drinks. Barretts's Waterfront is very pretty and just an overall great atmosphere. I've been here a couple of times now and I really enjoy the food here. The service has always been friendly towards my table. I ordered a burger which I thought tasted great, my boyfriend on the other hand ordered Mac & Cheese and did complain that it was a bit dry. read more

I have been here several times and had excellent service and food but unfortunately not today. After working a 12 hour shift, we went there with co workers for apps. And a few cocktails. Nicole was our server and probably had a worse day then me. Never smiled once. Our refills for our drinks were taking long time and we asked her about it and she told us she told the bartender to take her time because we had ordered 3 !! Then she proceeded to talk about us too her fellow co workers while we were arms length away. Then she threw boxes at on our table saying .. "take this." We weren't done eating but she clearly wanted us to leave. As I was reviewing the bill she came and took my drink that wasn't empty. I asked her if she having a bad night and she said no. We went on a Thursday night. Song trivia was really fun. We knew more 70s & 80s music then we thought, all of use being 90s babies. The bowl for two are a nice option to share a drink/ 21at birthday drinks. The farmers plate with french fruit, cheese and meat was a great app. Everyone loved their Mac& and Burgers. I got the Portuguese Steak. It was different then the transitional, but in a good way. The steak was thick and cooked perfect. The service wasnt great, took forever to order and then when we asked for something she would forget to bring it. But we were not in a rush and the music trivia really helped fill the time with great memories for some cousin time. It really shouldn't be called waterfront. It is more of a sports bar with hug tvs and had multiple sports/ games on. The inside with high ceilings is an awesome place to enjoy a drink and food while you watch any sports game. read more

My daughter ordered a kids, chicken tender meal, however, she received chicken tender appetizer, french fry appetizer and a juice. I asked Abigail if that was a kid meal and she replied No, I wasn't sure that's what you really wanted. We kept the food as we had been there for an hour. Went here with my family on Friday night. It was everyone's first time here, and first impression's of the restaurant were all positive. The interior was decorated for Christmas and looked fantastic, and the setup and open concept layout with the large ceilings was inviting. I had two really good experiences here in the past few weeks. I went in the evening with friends and had a great time and we enjoyed all of the food, especially the Mozambique bowl. I went back for lunch on the patio with my husband and it was even better because we were served the delicious bread and butter which I hadn't been served the week before.
