As a longtime customer, I read the reviews after visiting here last week and felt compelled to write a review. This business has been in Clayton a very, very long time...long before the Clayton population boom. I have used and will continue to use their services. They do charge up front, but you can use your imagination and figure out why...it's not personal or an assault on your character. They have been kind to me over the years, but they serve a tough crowd...a crowd that certainly enjoys talking down to them and sometimes can be downright rude. I tend to practice The Golden Rule (Mat 7:12) and I recommend that for everyone...the world needs more kindness...be different...be kind. read more

Incredible job done on my drapery! I have used them for years, and had complete confidence in their ability to do an expert job on my drapery. I was so impressed with the dry cleaning and the alteration work (look seams, etc). They take pride in their work, and I appreciated this in the handling of my drapery. read more

What an appalling experience. Visiting my family and asked for a hoodie and pants to be dry cleaned. When i asked why it was 20 dollars he told me that he didnt want my business and asked me to leave. Racist old man is the only logical assumption here. Do not give this place your business. Went to clayton crossing it was 13 dollars for the same items. read more

alterations are always perfect and clothes always cleaned well without damage. Good value as well , prices are fair.

We took a very nice king size comforter in to be dry cleaned. The total experience was awful. The elderly ,lady who took it in yelled at us and demanded that we pay up front. Seemed a bit strange but not a problem. When we went back to pick it up the same lady couldn't seem to find it using the receipt and kept yelling "color". we said blue and she finally brought it out. When we got home and took it out of the packing we found out that they washed it not dry cleaned as we asked for and the comforter was ruined. We went back and again the yelling old lady shouted at us that it was not their fault. It cost us about $150 to replace it. Never use this place! read more

My husband has been using them since we moved here 7 years ago. Service had been fine; however, I arrived to pick up his shirts that he had pressed and starched for an upcoming business trip on Friday at 5:55 (because I work until 5:30). The door says they close at 6, but the doors were locked and the girl was standing inside. I knocked on the door and nicely explained my husband was leaving to go out of town the next day and needed those shirts and she just shook her head at me!!! Will never use them again! They take your money and then close early and won't give you the clothes you dropped off to them. Go somewhere else!!!!! read more

It's a dry cleaner, what can I say? Their prices are in line with their competitors and the staff is friendly. My clothes come back clean and intact. Best of all, they are convenient to my home. They also do shoe repair but, I've not tried that service. We'll continue to use them. read more

I had a coat that needed extra clean assistance, more than usual. They charged me $20 instead of their regular price because the coat needed more work. I go pick it up and the coat looks clean, but still had stains and the problem that I needed to be solved (for what I paid $20) wasn't solved. The woman said "we tried our best" nothing less, nothing more. read more

I hadn't been there in years due to a more local store, which sadly closed. Barrett's has the location to be a million dollar business, but the staff, while friendly, is frankly "Ho-Hum" regarding their commitments. On my last venture there, I needed my clothes in two days due to business. I gave the LATEST possible time I could pick them up and drive directly to the airport, and they agreed that would be no problem (two full days for 5 shirts and 4 slacks).. I arrived 10 minute before that time to be told they needed another hour. I told them it would not work and I needed them at the agreed upon time. Sour face and 10 minutes later, I had my clothes albeit without the starch I requested . I'll use them due to convenience, but I will be looking for a place that can make, and keep, their commitments. read more

Clothes expected to be ready Thursday evening at 5....I received a call Thursday at 4 saying they will not be ready until the next day after 5. Shoes were to be repaired by Monday at 5, went Tuesday evening, of course they were not ready and told they'll be ready Wednesday. I show up Thursday morning and the shoes were still not ready and then I'm asked if I could pick up on Friday evening. Worst of all, the owner doesn't even seem the least bit apologetic for my inconvenience. I've been using dry cleaners for years and have never experienced anything like this. I highly UN-RECOMMEND their service. read more
