This is a good place. Attended a corporate private party this evening but the location was also open to the public during the event which was a bit odd for those not attending the party, but wasn't an issue for those of us in the large group. Stopped by for a wine tasting while out shopping with friends. Passed by before and didn't think to try it until a friend recommended we go. My friend belongs to the wine club out of the Glen Ellyn location, and she recommended their sweet flight. It was very good. Super clean washroom. This place is ok. I didn't realize it's another location for Lynfred Winery. I wish that was just the name of this location or they incorporate it as part of the name so people know. Given that I go to lynfred all the time and live near there, I was kind of bummed that it was the same because I didn't know. I also like the facility way better in Roselle as this location is in a basement. Service was good and our cheese plate was good. I enjoyed our wines as usual. If you aren't going out to Roselle or live in this area, it's a great place to try or get your wine. read more

Very cute shop! The selection of wine to sample is good - 11 choices to pick from! The pricing was maybe just a touch high by $1-2 dollars. For three 2oz pours, it was $9 plus tax. Not terrible, but for two people you're already over $20 in the hole just to sample some wine. (When you could definitely get two bottles to yourself for the same price.) I tried the pear, blackberry, and white sangria (clearly a sweet wine person haha). All three were really delicious, and served nice and cold. Each had a unique taste and all were refreshing on a warm and sunny day. If paying by credit card, there is no line to add a tip! Bring a little cash so you don't have to go through that awkward situation like we did! :) read more

The short version: Great value, Great people, Great service! My wife and I were a part of a group of six there this past Sunday (11/17). The group had varied tastes and preferences related to wine, and (as always) Greg knocked it out of the park with his knowledge and presentation of the wines. He taught us about each of the wines, and *listened* to each person's likes and dislikes about each wine. For the final wine, he changed up what was supposed to be poured, and picked something that, based on all of our previous comments was really enjoyed by everyone! This is a cozy place in the middle of downtown Naperville, where you can stop in and sample some wonderful wines, and if you're interested, learn more about the wines you're drinking from their great staff. They have a wide variety from sweet white wines to dry red wines, and a LOT in between. We've known Greg for several years from his time spent at Lynfred in Roselle (parent company of Tasting deVine), and have come to explicitly trust his knowledge of wines. We love the red wines that Lynfred produces, and over 17 years, I've NEVER been disappointed in any wine from there! Do we purchase and enjoy wines from other places? Of course we do. But in this region, I don't think you can beat the combination of wine quality, knowledge, and service that the Lynfred family provides. read more

I always want to give this place 5 stars but it's so hard to. When you can get an employee to acknowledge your presence it is an awesome experience. The owner is in often, and he's a real hoot. However, I have had many occasions where I've come in and had employees look me in the eye and not greet me. It is not uncommon to stand around for ten minute or more for an employee. Im actually part of the wine club and intend on ending my membership after having just had that experience again trying to grab my wine. If you have the patience to wait to be noticed and greeted, then you'll have fun. If not, find somewhere else. read more

Perfect start to Girls Night Out! We found a groupon for a wine tasting here and had a 4pm reservation. Good thing because Saturday gets very busy. The lady helping us was great and quite knowledgeable on the wine varieties. She was also very flexible on changing wines to our preferences. I had no idea this place was one of the tasting rooms for Lynfred wines--I'm a fan of their wine! We were having such a good time that we had planned to sit at one of their tables and order some cheese and crackers. But they were so busy and said they would not be able to take our order. Bummer. I took my MIL and SIL to this place the other day for a fun girl's outing. For $9/person we chose between 14 + 3 warm holiday wines to taste. We had 7 choices of 1 oz. tastes. It was really nice. There are equal choices of reds to whites and two fruit wines. For the experience, $9 for the equivalent of 1 glass of win was great. We were there about an hour and a half, so it was a fun experience. That's why you go, right? The woman running the place actually owns the same tasting room in Wheaton (which she said, get this, they have a more lenient ruling and are even allowed to sit down and drink outside! But, they only offer 7 wines and you don't get to choose... but also have wines by the glass). Her husband is actually the winery owner at Lynfred. His name is Fred and his ex wife is Lyn. She was a sweet woman and said she would really love to serve wines by the glass at this tasting room, but Naperville is strict. More strict than Wheaton, weird! So currently you can only taste and purchase bottles of wine to go. She isn't even allowed to have chairs in there... hence the chair or stool void room. The bar is a stand only, but it's really nice. The ambiance is great, but we only saw women in the place. It would be a nice place to go on a date night. It's not open late though, so consider the hours when you decide to go there. We'll be back for another girl's night soon. Very nice. read more

The staff is very knowledgable about the wines, they taught me that chilling Chardonnay is actually what gives you the oaky flavor that if you keep it room temperature that you will taste more of the fruit nodes. There are some super cute things in the winery to buy along with this cozy wine cellar atmosphere. I get you might have been busy (not really) but that doesn't give the guy behind the counter the right to be so rude. We have never been here. So that means maybe fill us in on your products. My husband and I have been members for a few yrs now. Gregory and John have done an awesome job with the innovative wine ed. classes "Book club minus the book", we highly recommend these! The wine, Lynfred- from the oldest IL winery, is AMAZING!! We recommend stopping in for a flight or glass. Also a must try is the charcuterie and olives . You can enjoy the new outdoor area, weather permitting. Brand new this summer is the introduction of local craft beers and soon to come bourbon! I was walking through downtown Naperville, when I saw a sign for wine tastings. I was a little hesitant about going in because you cannot peek in since the tasting room is downstairs My date convinced me to try it out with him. So we ventured down the stairs into an adorable tasting room. The lady working was super friendly and informative. She apologized to us when she said that it was the last day of the month so they were out of some wines. Then she told us we could order from what was left on the July tasting menu as well as what was going to be opened for the August menu. I was super excited because I only like sweet wines, so this gave me a greater chance of trying all sweet wines. Plus, I got to try four fruit wines rather than just two! I got to pick 7 wines and had a 1 ounce pour of each. I really enjoyed all of the wines I tried. I even took home a bottle of my favorite- the Strawberry Rhubarb wine from Lynfred. For two tastings and a bottle of wine, it only cost us $30. There are no seats and you cannot order a glass of wine, but I cannot fault Tasting deVine for that because it has to do with Naperville ordinances. read more

Omg worst wine tasting ever!!! First, this place is expensive as hell. Wine tasting are $9 for 6 tiny little samples or $9 for 3 bigger pours (but still tiny!). The wine isn't good. I don't like the flavor and everytime I drink it, I get sick...like nauseated and/or vomiting. I didn't realize until the last time I went there that the wine makes me sick. We hosted an event at Tasting deVine and they are absolutely wonderful! The space is intimate and can hold up to 45 guests for an event. This felt like the perfect space for this sized group. Communication and planning was very easy. For renting the space, you pay for 2 glasses of wine and the option of charcuterie boards. You can also bring in food from other restaurants. This was a perfect space and they had really wonderful wines! read more

My wife had been DYING to stop by here....so after a solid dinner at Front Street we wandered down the stairs around 8:30. They are VERY friendly, and it was pretty empty since they close at 9, but I was not too excited doing a wine tasting after some Margs, beers, and hot sauce..... It's only $8 per person for 6 tiny glasses to test, and lets just say that a winery from Roselle may not make the best wine, but we really enjoyed the experince. The kindness of the staff really makes a difference, and while we didnt buy any of the wine, The Hot Mamma really enjoyed the experience. I've been to the main Lynfred Winery in Roselle, and a tasting room of theirs in Wheaton - this place was the same idea! I bought a tasting cheese & truffle platter from "Local Deals" and as the way my life goes....it was going to expire soon, so I went this past Friday pm. I figured, a Friday evening in downtown Naperville...you just never know. I made a reservation just in case! As others have mentioned, when you walk in, you walk downstairs....the place is a LOT bigger than it appears outside, so don't let that stray you away....it's very cute with a LARGE tasting counter, other tables set up to enjoy a glass of wine and all kinds of wine trinkets! The staff here are wonderful...and so friendly! My friend and I got a glass of their peach wine, and then I bought a bottle. I'm considering joining their wine club eventually...it's very reasonable and the Lynfred wine has a lot of varieties! If you're a wine lover, I recommend stopping in for a visit! read more

This is a pretty chill place to swing over and try some of Lynfred's wines. I've come here enough and had enough of the wine to become a wine club member so while I'm not exactly local when I do stop in to Naperville I make it a point to visit, have a tasting with my better half, and leave with a box of wines I've gotten through the wine club. One thing that does need to improve is the administrative side of things. I do like that it's got a local vibe to it but I've bumped into some problems. One visit happened to be on veterans day and they were running a special. I rarely ever call to attention that I served and I thought this go around, "Hey, why not?" I had to awkwardly had to mentioned it several times then have my invoice corrected when it wasn't applied. Veterans aren't always comfortable asking for the discount and having to ask for it several times then running a charge back on the card with you made me feel like I should of just paid a little more so I didn't look desperate. Additionally I purchased as a gift a weekend at your Roselle location as a gift as part of your Black Friday special. There was a lot of confusion around that and it put me in a real precarious situation where I either got them a nice little extra $15 bottle of wine for the room or another $400 weekend in Roselle. Sent me on a real conversational fishing expedition the next time I saw them to figure out what the hell I actually ended up buying. "You uh...like that...other...thing...?" Anyway, clear up those administrative things and you'll go a long way to improving your experience. I would encourage other people to stop in and I always snag bottles for gifts because the wine is great. read more

It's tres adorbs! The outside entrances don't have much of a description so I avoided this place for a long time thinking it would be too hoity toity for me. I finally went in on Saturday with my P's and it was really cute. Apparently my wino mother frequents this place often. There's a store with lots of very affordable wines and wine accesories. There's a lot of great items or gifts for bosses or co-workers and they have a wine tasting bar. The woman working said they're expecting to get a pomegranite wine next month. They can also expect me to be back to try that pomegranate wine next month. Can't wait to go back! read more

My husband and I came here to kick off our latest Saturday night adventure. We were warmly greeted and decided to order a flight each and a cheese plate to share. We were told to grab a table and they would bring everything over to us. The space is really charming and I did some mental shopping while we waited. The wine was fantastic. Neither one of us loves sweet wines, and they had a good variety of options that made us happy. The cheese plate was perfect for us to share and came with some fruit and nuts as well. Prices are quite reasonable and we ended up getting a membership to further our enjoyment. It is definitely a busy place (we left around 7:45 and it was packed), but worth braving possible crowds.
