Reached out to a few of my local friends and they recommended this place. Walked up and was instantly greeted by the owner. I ordered a carne asada torta and it was one of the best that I've had in a while. It's not an indoor place to eat but there are tables and a large parking lot to eat in the car/ truck. The only downside but it didn't change my mind about eating here, is that there is no restrooms to wash up. When I'm in this area again I will definitely come back, and if you are ever passing by stop by. read more

If you're white, don't come here. They will treat you like shit and give you the worst service possible, or at least this was my experience barrazas was doing so good till they brought back the lady with the piercings and tattoos. When I pulled up to the spot she was in the parking lot doing some kind of deal with some guy not sure what it was. I ignored it and continued on. When I got to the front of the building there was a line of 3 people in front of me. Because it was already late in the evening i figured I'd stand in line and call it in see which is first. She came back and answered and told me to hold on I watched as she took the orders of 2 people then stopped at the third male in front of me. I placed my order and paid over the phone she said it would be 10-15 minutes. I sat down and she took many peoples orders after my phone order I counted. There was 5 people that she took their orders after me who got their food before me. I got up to ask and she told me they got a lot of pick ups I informed her I was one of them and she told me 10-15 minutes. It's been 40 minutes. I sat down I waited. 1HOUR!!!!! I got up asked again this time she was annoyed and started speaking to me like I was the problem. They HADN'T even started my order yet. When I told her I wanted my money back she acted all annoyed like I was making more work for her. I used to love coming here it was a great spot for late night tacos the owners should know I hold no ill will toward them or their business but until y'all get better employees I won't go back. Ok who the hell puts cabbage on their tacos. I had asada tacos and they were like sweet for some reason? Tastes like pure garbage most overhyped place in town honestly. Service is meh the workers clearly don't care about the quality. It's an ok location but I wouldn't see myself eating outside even if the food was good due to heat and the occasional fent addict walking by. I post that the tacos tasted horrible and the tripas very salty on fb, few weeks latter they find out and they start cursing me out, I PERSONALLY CONSIDER THAT WAS VERY BAD, they shouldn't said anything at all, that only shows the great costumer service!!! What a bad time and waste of money was going to this taco place...These were the worst tacos I've had in my entire Mexican life. The meat looked like cat food, tasted horrible and the tortillas were really oily and hard. On top of that the staff are rude and do not know how to accept when they are wrong. Very good, authentic Mexican food. The place looked close as there wasn't that many lights on the side but as we got closer there was outpost seating and more than enough light to eat outside. Food was very good and service was amazing. Highly recommended read more

Delicious burritos bad service but the cook and food makes this place worth the drive into wasco

I drove all the way from Los Angeles to Wasco, CA to try these tacos and was not disappointed. The homemade tortillas make a huge difference. I got the asada and cabeza tacos and they were generously portioned and cooked. Definitely worth going here if you are ever in the Bakersfield area. (They charge 50 cents extra if you pay credit card and don't have a wide selection of cold drinks so bring your own cold soda) read more

This place has been around for years and I'm so glad their food is still great! I went by for a carne asada torta yesterday and was pleasantly surprised at how large it was. The meat was so flavorful and tender without any fat. It was perfectly seasoned! The torta is made with beans, lettuce, onions, salsa, AND avocado. A large, delicious torta all for $6! Today I couldn't resist and had to go back for more. I had another torta; it was that good! Also ordered a carne asada tostada for $3 and it was also very tasty. Great value and amazing taste. The food was so satisfying I will definitely be returning for more of their exceptionally delicious food! read more

A waste of money honestly. I would not recommend these tacos to anyone. If you about good seasoning tacos and salsa then this place will definitely disappoint you. The tortilla is supper oily and hard. They're meat is full of fat and nerve which makes it very chewy and gross with bland flavor. The salsa is way to watered down. I don't get why most restaurants provide salsas that are not spicy. I love spicy homemade salsa so I would say I'm very picky in that area. read more

I regret not reading the reviews on here prior to stopping at this place. I tried a variety of meats (asada, lengua, cabeza, adobada, and tripa) to give them an honest chance. First time ordering a burrito. It was a good size, able to hold it in one hand. I ordered it with everything, which included refried beans, rice, meat, salsa and onion. The meat had good flavor, not too salty. A bit disappointed it didn't include pico inside or that it didn't include extra salsa on the side. Known locally as "the only place open" Barraza's has quite the clientele. Located on one of Wasco's busiest streets the restaurant can hardly be considered a sit down establishment. It's a to-go type of place with only two tables but plenty of parking. The tacos were adequate and the rice and beans fine. Service was quick and I found the prices reasonable. If you're in Shafter or Wasco and you're in need of a late night snack I definitely recommend this place. Skip any of the food on Lerdo Hwy and come for some made to order Mexican food. read more

Hi Everyone unfortunately I didn't have a great experience like everyone else had coming here. I'm actually on a road trip with my family coming to Wasco was our last stop. Also coming to Wasco isn't new for us either. my dad was the sole reason why we had actually stopped there to grab a bite. He and my mom would go there on dates years ago. My Dad's side of the family also resides here. So I'm not going to lie I was pretty stoked to try this place out! But for starters the second it was our turn to order the lady taking our order had paused us because a phone call was coming in So she only had taken down half our order! So while on the phone and taking our order we instructed no salsa on the tacos but because she was on the phone all of our food came out with salsa. This was a simple miscommunication that could've easily been fixed if handled properly. I was honestly discouraged to simply give the tacos back and ask for what we had orders, with out salsa ! but with asking the lady rudely responded so nasty and once I called her out about her being distracted by the phone call she didn't think I was going to stand up to her. and let me also state I told her that I wasn't trying to offend her in any way or disrespect her but to next time take one order at a time. I felt like such a Karen when I had to ask for a manger because I was A either going to get my food prepared correctly or B get a refund man this lady also caught me having a pretty good day because she wasn't wearing any gloves putting lids on the drinks after touching money and the register. Should've started recording and report her to the food inspectors for violating our drinks with her dirty ass hands ! This place used to be a taco truck in the 90's and had HUGE burritos and the meat used to be juicy and plenty you could smell the fresh cookings from blocks away . Now an actual building stands In the once dirt parking lot and the fresh meat is now dry the portions have gotten sloppy. I think on 3 different occasions I've had REALLY delicious tacos in the past 7 years but you have to tell them "easy rice" in the burritos because the meat portions are skimpy. If you order a cheese quesadilla make sure they cook it all the way- the cheese is almost always cold or hardly melted. Don't even get me started on the service, WORST service than wasco Dennys on the 46 (if you're a local here you will understand what I mean) the girls there are extremely rude almost EVERY TIME. dare you ask for extra Salsa or lemon (1 itty bitty sliver of lemon for 3 tacos) if you want a quarter of a lemon it's .50!!!!!! I'm willing to pay for extras however I I can do without the attitude- smile bi*%# it's not That hard and stop forgetting my salsa that is supposed to come with my food then I wouldn't have to ask for it. ... also don't order a soda it tastes like Lysol. However, they do have great classic bottled Coca Cola products don't get the horchata it's watered down. I will say it's always great to eat outside it never fails that I run into a fellow Wasconian . The carne asada tacos are amazing as are the burritos. Everything has so much flavor and juiciness. The carne asada torta is pretty good as well although I am not a big fan of tortas in general. The quesadillas are good but every time I have ordered one, it ends up being pretty greasy. Great selection of drinks, friendly and polite employees. I Don't see the big hype about "BARRAZAS TACOS". Think it was better when it was the taco truck. (Unless I always went drunk and maybe thought it was good) it's open late that's prob the only reason why people like it. They get their most business after hours when everyone's drunk and hungry. Local Favorite , anyone who grew up in Wasco probably remembers the Barrazas Taco Truck . Always stuck to the Asada tacos and they taste the same . I only give three stars because like many other reviews they do have theirs sloppy days where the meat is either dry or salty but for a late night treat not a bad choice read more
