Through my moves and travelling I've (unfortunately) gotten so use to getting let down and disappointed by coffee shops that are hailed as way better than they are by the locals. Burnt coffee or way too dark roasted espresso is one of my biggest peeves. I hate smelling the aroma of what I hope is this delicious little treat and then getting a sip of this bitter, nastiness. THANK GOD Barracuda's surprised me and proved me wrong!! It's too rare that I taste coffee from a shop and find it so wonderful as I did my vanilla latte from here. I got it and a poppyseed muffin. The muffin was pretty alright, but I know they are not done in house so I wont bother reviewing those... it was good though. But the coffee.... oh that scrumptious little cup of goodness! Normally I have to tell whomever is making my latte to only heat it to 130* (most heat to 160*-180*) the guy who made heated it to the perfect temp. After I finished my muffin I went to my car to leave and had my first sip of the latte... I literally went "mmm, delightful!" aloud to myself. This little shop has cute decor (gets it's name from the classic muscle car -also a fan of this.) It's got a very modern vibe and accents that most might not notice but there is a clock made of gears... It was a nice, cute touch. The shop is pretty small but there seems to be enough seating even though I've only ever seen this place hopping busy. While it is a tad out of my way, any time I'm out and about and want coffee I'll be sure and continue to frequent Barracuda Coffee Co. read more

I've been quite a number of the well-regarded coffee shops in Seattle and would like to say, Barracuda Coffee would fit right in. I am definitely glad its right here in the tricities. The typical cappuccino or latte is not overly strong but has an amazingly nice flavor. I would never consider adding any flavoring to the drinks(just some sweetener) just because the coffee flavor is that nice. The blended lattes are also amazing. For those who do like starbucks or other coffee shops check it out! The interior of the place is nothing remarkable but welcoming and quite appropriate for a coffee shop. read more

The cappuccino was pretty bad. I could barely taste the coffee with the amount of milk in it. The poppy seed muffin was pretty good though. I wouldn't recommend this place for coffee, especially the cappuccino. Service was awesome though. read more

My son lives in Spain and he's sent me multiple photos of the designs that can be made from the beautiful creamy foam on top of a coffee served in a "ceramic" cup. He said that Starbucks is coming in and aggressively competing with their precious mom and pop stores that have been there for generations. Yes a cup of coffee can have economic and political implications. Think global act local. Go tell Barracuda and other private owners you will support them and encourage them to provide the art value along with the impeccable taste of a well made coffee beverage. Baristas seem to know their stuff.. After chatting with the barista who made my drink the first time I ordered a latte at this establishment, I found out that he reads academic journal articles about coffee growing! They serve Stumptown coffee, which most coffee snobs [disclaimer: I self-identify as a coffee snob] seem to enjoy; I've never been a fan, though. Seems like hype to me, in comparison to the roasted-in-store coffee that is common where I live and, in my opinion, more delicious. Barracuda deserves many stars anyway. They use quality ingredients (even if I don't personally prefer the roasting company they use) and their staff is very friendly and knowledgable. read more

Some friends and I have an every-other-Friday meeting here. I'd passed it several times and never stopped in. That was a mistake. Service is prompt and friendly. I usually go with the plain drip coffee, although I've had a couple of mocha lattes that were excellent. The coffee doesn't have the "burned" flavor of Starbucks, although I suspect that the Barracuda folks would brew a darker, stronger roast if one asked. They seem to be eager to please. One golden customer service moment that has bought my loyalty: one of the first times we met there, I hadn't eaten breakfast, thinking the shop would have some baked goods for sale. They usually do, but someone had bought out the stock. The counter lady asked, "What did you have in mind?" I told her I was hoping for a bagel, scone, cinnamon rolls, something like that. They sent someone out to wherever they get their baked goods, and five minutes later they were at our table, offering a selection of several items. Betcha you won't get that level of service at Starbucks. Good coffee, nice people, prices in line with most other espresso/specialty coffee places. read more

Great coffee, some days it's better than others. This usually my new preferred spot (I'm new to the neighborhood). The lattes don't normally taste like hot milk. I didn't order ice cream once and I received a cone with a totally concave scoop of I cream . The cream is great though! read more

I decided after working for a couple weeks in the River's Edge Deli in Kadlec Hospital, that it's hard to be constantly pleasant if you're one of the busiest places around. People have bad days, and it's completely forgivable. I appreciate Barracuda's for their quality. A little spendy for me, but the coffee freezes...superb. read more

Barracuda Coffee is my go-to coffee shop. It's a cute building on Van Giesen right off the bypass, which is super convenient. They roast their own brand of coffee (Charis), so you are able to get a local fresh roast. My favorite blends are the Costa Rica and the specialty Ethiopian...the Ethiopian can sell out fast! I encourage you to check it out even if you don't drink coffee--they have iced tea and other drinks as well. The owners are friendly and make an effort to learn their customers' names.
