Our '84 Mercedes convertible and our '64 Nova wagon have been there oftens ... seems like we'd maybe get some transmission work done and then some other issue would crop up. Didn't matter if it was undercarriage or exhaust system or window problems - your mechanics could handle it. We've always been happy with the work we had done - and when it was done it was done RIGHT ... didn't have to go back for 'tweaks' or more work. Mike - at the desk - is a great asset; he always had time to discuss what needed doing, and was great at explaining it to someone whose car-work experience was limited to one oil change I did on the Nova. It's a GREAT place to take a vehicle for service and repair. And they even have an outside fenced area for cars that have to stay for an overnight ... or perhaps a MONTH of overnight :D as my Nova did not too long ago while they searched for and ordered parts, and tried to figure out the 'tricks' my husband had used to do things like have the passenger door on that '64 wagon unlock when the driver's door was unlocked ... a really unusual feature for that car but VERY handy. Bremerton Transmission is where we always took our cars for service and repairs, and will continue to be for me now that my husband is gone. Sure glad we found this place all those years ago!! Tony from Tony's greenwood auto (that godsend), did everything they were gonna do (rear brakes, wheel cylinders, tie rod) plus thermostat and a tune up for a total of $475 (including tax, labor, etc). the same price emerald city auto was gonna charge to do JUST the tie rod!!!!!! my check engine light was back on 2 days after the emerald city guys put in the egr valve gasket. tony took a look and said they actually made the gasket rather than ordering it. and he was dumbfounded that they didnt put it in in the first place since it comes IN the box with the egr valve. if you want your car to be repaired correctly for an honest price, DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!

Matt helped me out in the first two inital greetings and then Larry (the owner), basically followed up with all the cost estimating and appointment setting. I'm not a huge fan of dealing with mechanics shops and hadn't really had the experience of dealing with a body shop before, so I had the same feelings at first that I do of mechanics placese. I was told by my insurance that this place was handling both the body damage and a mechanical diagnostic. Before I picked up the car, I called in to inquire about the status and Larry informed me the work was done and that they had taken it around the block and "listened" for anything unusual. After some conversation, it was made clear that they do not actually have a certified mechanic on staff and I was uneasy to the tune of the "diagnostic" done as Larry had stated "well, we didn't know what it sounded like before you brought it in of course but nothing sounds out of the ordinary". This is an issue I took back to my insurance, who in turn decided to let me take it to the dealership for the diagnostic. NOW. The good news! The body work was increidible and the work is guaranteed by the shop for life. Not to mention, after I picked up my car from the dealership they told me the car was fine and also stated that whoever did the body work on the front end did a really stellar job. When I told them it had been Kirmac they said, oh yea that's a great shop! We tell our customers to go there all the time. So, while there was some initial confusion about the dx portion of the services rendered I do have to give a shout out to Kirmac in Burien and a BIGGER shout out to Larry. You guys handled my repairs really well, were very patient with my waivering on the final results and I especially appriciated the little card and hand made basket of chocolate that you left on my dash board.
