This restaurant opened a month ago. It was near our hotel, so we decided to check it out. The experience was mixed for me. I really liked the vibe and atmosphere. It's a nice place. Service was spectacular. That was probably the best thing, the service. And the fish tacos were delicious. They are on the appetizer menu, but I would say could be ordered as a main course. You get three good sized tacos. I would definitely get those again. What I won't get again, or recommend, are the skirt steak, the rice, and the beans. Talk about dropping the ball on the basics. They were severely under seasoned and bland. My wife's seafood risotto had good seafood flavor but I felt was slightly under seasoned. My wife disagreed; she thought it was well seasoned. She did, however, agree that the rice, beans, and steak were bad.
Overall, I think this place has potential. I hope the inconsistencies (great fish tacos, terrible steak Ann's rice/beans) are more a product of a new restaurant and a kitchen that is working to find a rhythm, rather than it being just a mediocre restaurant. Based on the fish tacos, I would lean on the former. Also, I'll acknowledge they were running on a back up generator since the rain left them without power. In fact, at one point the generator lost power. It was quickly turned back on. Maybe this affected things a bit. I don't know. I would like to give them another chance, maybe after giving them time to find a rhythm. read more
