We really enjoyed our time here. The food was a bit expensive, but most of it was fair. My porkchop was perhaps the best I ever had. My wife said her shrimp was really good, but the sauce used white wine that didn't cook off, so the alcohol was off-putting. The key lime pie slice was $9, really small, and not very good; barely lime flavored. The rice, asparagus, etc were all excellent and would recommend. I went to this restaurant on Valentines Day around 7:24 p.m.. I called at the last minute and I was told they could give me a table, which I greatly appreciated. I am cognizant that these are very heavy days for restaurants. However, I was not prepared to wait 2 1/2 hours to be served. My group waited patiently and the water was very apologetic. 2 hours into the wait, I told the waiter to bill us for the drinks and appetizers since we wanted to leave. It was already 9:25 p.m. and it was too late for me to eat. The owner came out and told me that the food was already being prepared and we had to take it to go. In other words, we were not leaving before paying for it. I didn't want to make a scene so we decided to continue waiting. The food took an additional 22 minutes to arrive. I feel the restaurant breached its responsibility to serve us within a reasonable amount of time, and bullied us into paying for the meal one way or another. If they knew how backed up the kitchen was, they must inform the patrons and let them decide if they want to stay of not. They put profit above service. I visited Cabo Rojo for the fisrt time with several friends...Girls Trip. It was fantastic!! One friend had heard about 101 West, but hadn't yet dined there. What better time to try them out than when traveling with girlfriends. I had the shrimp risotto and it was EXCELLENT! The menu boasts that I'll be the best shrimp risotto you'll ever have...and it was. I don't think I've had shrimp risotto before (lol) but this dish was absolutely delicious. I had the coconut mojito which was pretty good. The atmosphere was great as we dined on the outside patio. The waitress was very attentive. I would definitely recommend dining at 101 West and look forward to dining there again when visiting Cabo Rojo. read more

DO NOT GO IF YOU ARE ASTHMATIC OR HATE SECOND HAND SMOKE. My family and I went for dinner on Friday evening. Shortly after being seated outdoors another dinner guest sat nearby and started smoking. My brother in law is asthmatic and had a severe asthma attack. Our server was gracious enough to move us to another table, but the owner was rather dismissive about the incident. While my BIL was outside using his inhaler and trying to recover, another guest was about to light a cigarette right next to him. We had to argue with the lady to go smoke elsewhere, but the whole incident was pretty unpleasant. A few minutes later the owner lit a cigarette right outside the restaurant door! That's when I understood that this restaurant is meant for smokers or people who don't mind getting second hand smoke. We ended up getting take out. Just ate dinner at 101 West excellent food, I had the petite Rob Eye and it was cooked perfectly medium, my husband had the lamb chops and those too were cooked exactly how he likes them, medium. Sangria pitcher was plentiful and the deal vs per glass cost. Plenty of parking and service was excellent! We'll be back for sure!! Items we had: 1) Seared Tuna (my favorite) (2) honey mustard shrimp (3) Almond crusted salmon (4) Chicken Parmesan sandwich (5) Winter salad of apples, almonds, and raisins. Everything was super delish and professionally made. Love love love this place . Normally I get the filet mignon mashed potatoes ( the best ever) and broccoli. Tonight they were out of filet mignon, so I had the NY. We had appetizers, the avocado egg rolls are amazing. Others with me had the ribs, seafood bowl, short rib ravioli and spinous and cheese ravioli in vodka sauce. Came here since it was close to the house. Learned you usually need reservations bit they squeezed us in. The ambiance was quiet and friendly. They warned us the food would be slow. Food came as quick or quicker than most places in Puerto Rico. One of our party ordered the filet mignon. It was a massive cut for filet and the chef was lurking to see if our friend liked the medium rare. A restaurant where the chef cares about the food he is putting out. This place rocks. read more

Amazing!!! We had read Yelp reviews and wanted to try 101 West and then our plans changed due to weather and earthquakes and we weren't sure we would be in the area. I'm so glad it worked out because I cannot say enough good about 101 West. The food was phenomenal (we had bbq pork sliders, filet Mignon, and ribs)- meat was perfectly flavored and perfectly cooked, the mashed potatoes literally melt in your mouth, the drinks were amazing (our faves were the pina colada and ginger-lime mojito), seriously everything was just fantastic. Luis (the manager) was our server and he was as nice a guy as they come and was even telling us about things they've been doing to help people affected by the earthquakes. This is a great place to go if you're in the area. The service was AMAZING first of all. The beers are really cold and the mojito my girlfriend got was perfect and fresh. The food incredible! Last time I was here my husband had the 1/2 rack of lamb and didn't shared it with me so returning to the area I had to have them. They were really really good. Perfectly seasoned, and the asparagus were crunchy with a pinch of cheese. I wanted to have a lemon drop martini but they were out of of one of the ingredients. Then I asked for an a passion fruit mojito and when I ordered the second one, I couldn't because they ran out of passion fruit juice. This is a good place to eat at La Parguera. It is not the typical Puerto Rican menu that you find al over, they have more American foods on the menu, like BBQ ribs. All the food was good and the Sangria was great! Service was also very good. They have lots of outdoor seating and some tables and a full bar inside. Highly recommended. read more

The best New American restaurant in the Cabo Rojo/Boqueron area. There's not much legitimate competition in the area, but for the restaurant to look and feel like it's in the continental US must have not been easy. We got the salmon, honey shrimp pasta, spring salad, tuna, and chicken parm. I would recommend all the dishes except the chicken parm sandwich, which was dry and flavorless. Found this place when my Family and I went to Cabo Rojo and very glad I did. The food was great! Had the pork dumplings, a burger they let me create myself, my kid had the grilled cheese and my Mommy had the chicken Park sandwich. All three were very good. Luis was great and very friendly. Renee the bartenders own spiked fruit punch recipe was refreshing and so good along with the ever so tender ribeye steak cooked to perfection. It cut like butter and the mash omggg I'm coming back, even though I'm 1,000miles away in Brooklyn. Waited an HOUR for our food. We asked the waitress what was taking so long around 40 min after ordering and was told that our order was last in and several other tables ahead of ours. I have never heard of a restaurant needed an hour because there are other tables ahead of you. The food finally came out exactly one hour after ordering and I had to ask to talk to the owner. She came out and explained the same thing we were last on a busy night as if I was just supposed to accept that. I had to ask for her to offer something to us for the poor service and finally they covered our drinks. The food was good or maybe we were just starving, but we will not be going back on principle. I work in hospitality and customer service 101, if a guest complains and has waited an hour you ALWAYS offer to make it right and proactively apologize. The client should never have to ask for the owner to come out and def should not have to ask you to offer a make good. Really need to learn customer service. read more
