As mentioned above, we went to the Plaza el Caribe food court location but the menu was very limited so we chose to go to another nearby location. Menu was more extensive, but I was disappointed that they no longer had yuca fries on their menu. I ordered the pavo (turkey) sandwich which was 5.99. It came with their special white queso and a little bit of lettuce and diced tomato. It was a bit dry (needed more mayo) and was skimpy on the pavo. I ordered the natural cut fries and they were really good, but not hot and fresh (1.99 lg). My friend ordered the cubano sandwich and he really enjoyed that along with the corn surrillos (fritters) and a pastel de yuca (yuca soup). I had one surrillo and it was too dry and I tried a spoonful of the soup and it was really tasty. It reminded me of butternut squash soup. Overall, our meals were still good, dining room was very clean (outdoor seating as well), employees were friendly, and the prices are amazing (26.15 total). Parking was very congested and tight (park on the street if you can).

Ended up ordering the steak sandwich with fries and had a queso pastry as well. What better time to try them out than when traveling with girlfriends. I had the shrimp risotto and it was EXCELLENT! The menu boasts that I'll be the best shrimp risotto you'll ever have...and it was. I don't think I've had shrimp risotto before (lol) but this dish was absolutely delicious. I had the coconut mojito which was pretty good. The atmosphere was great as we dined on the outside patio. The waitress was very attentive. I would definitely recommend dining at 101 West and look forward to dining there again when visiting Cabo Rojo.

My wife said her shrimp was really good, but the sauce used white wine that didn't cook off, so the alcohol was off-putting. The service was pretty good and the environment of outdoors, but better and covered was nice. Cool breeze throughout dinner.

Still, since we heard it was really good, we decided to jump thru all the hoops. Boy am I glad we did!! I had the ribs (full rack) and it was ridiculously good, delicious! Others in my party had brisket, and steak, and they were all also impressed! As appetizer we had the empanadillitas de carne (12 count), which is always deliscious, but ussually done with ground beef... well, not at La Manada, the filled them with braised beef!! They also had a guava BBQ sauce!! Wow!! The place is rustic, an open air (no A/C, ussually a deal breaker for me) barn-like venue, very spacious (tables laid out at least 5-8 feet away from each other), but somehow it all feels homey, maybe even intimate. Their staff was very attentive and friendly. And then there is their chef, Chef Jose Lucca, very nice and charismatic; he stopped by to make sure we were happy with everything, talk about his vision, and even joked about "their rules". He also took pictures with us! Bottom line: La Manada Ribs V8 is an excellent restaurant; an absolute must if you are in the south-west of PR.

They reached out to me two days prior so I could reserve the meats I wanted to make sure I could get what I wanted given the high demand and large parties coming in and out. When you get there, their parking/security staff assist you while waiting and you get to come in once your table is ready. The service is fast and efficient. Staff is very attentive and the Chef is around greeting the customers. Very family oriented vibe and ambiance, while you can also still get a cold beer or a cocktail of your choice while enjoying the Puertorrican mountain/country scenery. Now let's talk about the food. I love my Puertorrican seasoning but I am also used to BBQ in the US. I was a little hesitant but I have to say I was impressed. The smoky flavors in the meats were everything! Everything was so tender and perfectly cooked. Tried their Manada tray in which you get a taste of all their meats: Riblets, pulled pork, brisket, pork loin and even half quail. This comes with three sides of your choice and should be enough for 3-5 people. My party ordered the Manada rice which is our typical Puertorrican rice with pigeon peas with bits of smoked meat. This was my favorite side. Also ordered sweet potato waffle fries and delicious tostones de pana/mapen which were a seasonal item. Ordered to go a full rack of ribs and came with a side. These were so perfectly cooked and fall-off-the-bone tender. My favorite from the Manada tray was the brisket. My party loved the riblets. It was their first time having BBQ and definitely not the last time!

Though, in my opinion eating octopus is forbidden for me. Just no. But she loved it. My sister said her soup was really good.
