What a hidden gem! We were in Greeley (from Fl) and looking for a great breakfast and came across this place. Now Captains Table hidden at the regional airport inside the building with the blue roof (for anyone else non local). The food was on point and the menu had so many great and creative options. I had the Holly Brown special- hash browns, ham, onion, cheese covered with Hollinase with two eggs and toast - sooooo good! My partner had the meat omelet also super delicious. Everything had cute themed names and the hospitality and service was great plus a bonus view of the small planes. We love supporting small local businesses when we travel. Captain's Table: Formerly this was Barnstormer Restaurant and the ownership has changed. We loved eating here then and today was the first time we ate under the new management. The menu has great choice of dishes. We were pleasantly surprised when our breakfast was out on our table within 10 minutes! This restaurant has an excellent environment, friendly service, great menu choices and really decent food and at affordable prices. Great little "hole in the wall" type restaurant right at a small airport! My bf and I went on Saturday morning for breakfast. The décor is great! There are photos of old planes all over the walls. Model airplanes hanging from the ceiling! The food was delicious! For the two of us it came to $30+ tip. I got the basic scrambled eggs, toast and bacon while my bf got the French toast with bacon, plus our beverages. It was enjoyable to watch the small planes land or take off while we ate our breakfast. Definitely will bring my granddaughter when it's warmer so we can sit outside! read more

Hidden gem in Weld County. The restaurant sits against the tarmac. Fun to see the private aircraft come and go and the interesting characters emerging from them. The employees are down-home friendly and salt of the earth folks. The food is as good as anywhere for breakfast / lunch. I recommend the cheesy steak sandwich. I get mine without the mushrooms but with extra onions. They close early afternoon so it makes a great late morning place to go. P.S. there's a T-38 static display outside the restaurant. read more

This spot is the quintessential airport burger joint. Airplanes hanging from the ceiling and airplanes parked out front--a great way to spend a Saturday! Or Sunday, or any day! The food, however, is just okay. Next time I will order the burger because it seems like I was the only one who ordered the chicken sandwich chicken was dry and ... just meh. (Literally, the sights and smells of all the burgers that walked by me seemed delicious....get the burger!!) Service was slow, so maybe have a snack before coming in. However, all that said, I will absolutely be back because let's be honest, when you go for that $100 hamburger, you're there to enjoy the camaraderie and ambiance! read more

Cool small airport restaurant layout. If you come during a busy time you definitely will need to be patient as it could be busy. I've been here twice and the meals were good. Walked in and saw one big table of probably 15. Maybe one more table of two or three. Was told by the cook that it was over an hour wait for our party of four. Don't even bother going. It's sad because it used to be a great place to go. But now the service is slow and the prices are really high. read more

I was the first one in the door and picked out my seat right away. Within minutes folks were landing planes and coming in to eat. My biggest issue here is the wait. It just seemed as if the one guy cooking was overwhelmed and wasn't prepared the morning of my visit. It seemed as though he showed up when everyone else instead of having things ready (maybe that was the case & it's not typical, just sharing my experience). The prices were fair and the food was...well it was ok. The pancake was huge, I guess kudo's for that. I can't give 3 stars because 3= A-OK, and I don't fell that accurately describes my experience. Shouldn't have taken 45min to an hour to get food being first in the door. Fair thing would be to give a second chance, I just wasn't wowed enough by the other factors to do so. Ate breakfast here on a trip to Greeley for our nephew's regional baseball tournament. I'm giving it 4 stars for it being really good for what it is...a diner. The food was better than expected and very reasonably priced, but the best part was watching the patrons pull up and park their planes in the lot to come eat breakfast as well. Being Chiefs fans from Wichita, KS, the Broncos label on the Tobasco bottle on the table was nearly a deal breaker though :) read more

Amazing service! Good comes out a little bit slow, but you definitely don't get bored while waiting. There are large windows looking towards where the planes land and take off. Plus, kids love to look at the planes on the ceiling of the restaurant. The waitress was super nice and helpful. Also, you can see a bunch of origami bills on display in the front counter! As nice a little cafe as ever you'll find. Small, friendly, down-to-earth. Reasonable prices on good tasting food. I had the chicken fried steak special, and it was delicious. The waitress was super attentive, and kept my iced tea filled the whole time without me asking. You get a good mix of locals in here. Farmers, pilots, local business people. They're all enjoying the food, and the view: you look right out onto the tarmac. Definitely worth hitting up if you're in the area. read more

I have never hit the run-way of the airport in Greeley, but have landed at the Barnstomer for lunch quite a few times. This is a great little restaurant that serves home-style meals for reasonable prices. The people that work there are really nice and know your order after you have been there a few times. The burgers are good. Fries and onion rings made the way they are supposed to be. It may be the kid in me, but I really fancy their grilled cheese. They also have great daily soup and lunch specials worth trying out. It is fun sitting amongst the pilots and businessmen underneath the dozen or so model airplanes hanging from the ceiling and a few real ones out on the ramp. This is definetly a unique atmosphere. When I walked in I was greeted right away, and told I could pick where I wanted to sit. There was a booth available with a great window view. I enjoyed watching the airplanes take off, and just the scenery in general. I ordered a single pancake, scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, and hash browns. The pancake was HUGE! I would say easily 12" across. The edges of the pancake were crispy and delicious. The pancake was a golden brown, and so fluffy! (You will definetly need more then one syrup). The eggs were delicious, not soggy and not too dry. The bacon was cooked to perfection. I like my bacon crispy. They cooked it exactly how I liked it, it wasn't overcooked. The hash browns were a bit bland. I added salt and pepper, and added some ketchup and it had more flavor. Overall, I would definetly go back, and definetly recommend it. Oh! And the prices were good too. Two adults was under $20.00 for a lot of food. Huge portions! Great service! Great atmosphere! read more

Can't comment on the food because we were never served. Arrived Saturday morning and told some time AFTER we ordered that "it might be a little while". 1/2 hour later, with no sign of food, we were told there were five or six orders in front of us that they HADN'T STARTED! Not able to wait over an hour for eggs and french toast, we just left, very hungry. They were friendly, but there are so many things wrong with this operation, and we won't be back. In addition, they are charging $1 extra per order, supposedly to make up for the increase in the price of eggs. I guess I hadn't heard eggs went up by $6 a dozen, because they hadn't. read more

Barnstormer Crashed Hard into the Ground I stopped by the Barnstormer restuaraunt today and ordered a grilled cheese with fries togo. Wow, what a dissapointment. Upon first impression, the place smelled like urine and was unbearable while I waited 10 minutes for my food. Also, the place is outdated. The theme of the resuarunt is aviation. Rather than watching the airplanes take off in front of the restuarant being enough, they have model airplanes hanging from the celing. Not terrible until upon closer inspection I saw that they are coated with dust, which you know is falling into your food as you sit and eat. Yuck. To add to the dissapointment, only one elder couple was at the restuarant during lunch hours sipping coffee. It was a weekday and I should have expected to see the place packed. Especially at an airport with tons of people flying in and out by the hour. After getting my food, I left and will never return becuase my fries had NO salt, tasted like nothing and the grilled cheese was made with fake cheese. I'm pretty sure they used kraft single melt slices of cheese. What a shame! I've had better and I expect better. read more
