    Chillest atmosphere in town.

Barney's Uptown is the "hippest" of all the Barney's branches in Amsterdam. They offer up a full bar and a scrumptious menu. Their staff is incredibly friendly and chill (shoutout to Ana), and they'll always make you feel at home. Whether you're looking for a mean cocktail, an ice cold beer, or really appetising dishes, Barney's has recently expanded their menu with great attention to quality. Pop in for lunch, dinner, or enjoy their late night snacks until closing. Their burgers are THE bomb.com - try any one of them! Some evenings, their resident DJ mixes up the funkiest tunes, and there's also a big screen for showing major sporting events. Barney's was definitely our go-to place for delicious food, good vibes, and great people during our trips to Amsterdam. Note: This place is stoner friendly.

Barney's Uptown is a really nice place overall. It has a hip vibe to it, with a lot of dark colors and low lights with the bar being the centerpiece. In LA, this place would really pop. Since it's Amsterdam.. well nothing really pops like it does in LA. It's not a bad thing.. it's just something you have to accept in coming to Amsterdam. This place has great drinks and really awesome food to match. Over the years it seems like they have used chefs with fresh and new styles. They do a good job in presentation and flavor. I would compare this place to Krave in LA, but much cooler. Note for the hippies, you are free to enjoy your greenery here. No special section needed. Note for the non-hippies, note the above if you can't stand the smell.

Yogurt with muesli and fruit. Served with honey on the side :)

I love this place, truly. Take note of the other reviews that you will likely be in for a wait, so not a good place if you're in a rush. Also, this place is friendly to consuming greenery indoors, so it's awesome if you're into that ;) We went around 12-1pm on a Sunday and were happy to find a table easily! However, they only have about 2 waitresses for the whole place, so we had to wait a while to put in our order. No problem because you can roll one up and enjoy that in the meantime! Hehe. I got a latte and my boyfriend got orange juice. Both were good! We also shared the Irish Breakfast and the yogurt with muesli and fresh fruit. A little pricey, but it is tasty food and you pay for the ambience/experience :)

If you are trying to find a spot to relax and smoke, get delicious cocktails, AND amazing food... THIS. IS. THE. SPOT!! You can purchase your smoking goodies at the shop right across the street and come in here to enjoy. The cocktails on the menu are very traditional (piña colada, tequila sunrise, etc) but rest assured that these are not the traditional cocktail recipes you're use to; all the cocktails are made with natural fruit & juices - hands down the BEST piña colada I've ever tasted! And the food? Get the appetizer sampler! Highly recommend for anyone going to Amsterdam looking for a good time.

    yummy!!

If you are sharing a meal with someone, get items from a different prix-fixe menu and you can both try a variety of items. We enjoyed: * Charcuterie plate: sausages taste minimally processed and delicious * Beef and onion stew: taste slightly different than ones in America * Cauliflower and cheese oven bake: vegetarian's comfort food * Hutspot (mashed potatoes and carrots) and meatballs: non-vegetarian's comfort food * Pea soup with smoked ham For desserts, we had chocolate mousse and vlaflip (vanilla custard) and they were just okay. I'm not sure if desserts are the Dutch's strengths, except maybe the Dutch apple pie. They even bottle their own house beer. The restaurant is small. Try to make a reservation if you can. We didn't have a reservation, but went to the restaurant at around 5PM and were seated in about 15 minutes. At times, the line could get very long, but the staff is still welcoming and ensures that everyone gets served...eventually.

Portions are substantial and a very good value in a neighborhood where tourist-markups are the norm. They have a/c, but in order to feel it you'll need to sit closer to the back of the restaurant/near the kitchen, as there is only one wall unit back there, and they leave the front of the restaurant open to the elements (even in 98+ degree heat).

We kept it classic this time: * The Ribs: Fall-off-the-bone tender as always. They don't over-sweeten the glaze, which I appreciate. * Le Cannibale Royale: The pulled pork on top of the patty is a heavy hitter, but the sauerkraut actually cuts through the richness perfectly. * The Fries: Still some of the most consistent in the city--thin, salty, and actually hot. Service was busy (it's Handboogstraat, so what do you expect?), but the staff was super chill and kept the craft beers flowing. It's loud, it's moody, and it's exactly what I wanted for a late-night feed. Plus, I've noticed they actually take the time to read and reply to feedback here, which is a rare find for a place this popular. Keep doing what you're doing!
