The first time we visited this place, we were automatically impressed with the cage free daycare, which allows your pet to run and play outside all day instead of being cooped up in the kennel. It is a very clean boarding and daycare service. The staff is always friendly and happy to see our dog. They take such good care of our Husky and know her by name when she walks in the door. They will feed your dog whenever you want them to be fed and however much your pup may need. You can call and check on your dog throughout the day during there hours of operation. Another added bonus that I love are the webcams that are located outside while they play and inside while they are in their kennels. I love the idea that there is always someone outside with them throughout the whole year to ensure that everyone is happy When we vacation in Dallas or Houston we drive one of the longest routes just to take our dog to them. We know and trust that she will be looked after and happy. We will not take her anywhere else while we are in Texas and we highly recommend Barney's Ranch to everyone that is looking for a place to take heir dogs for daycare and boarding. read more

I hated the thought of boarding my dog Colton- especially for a WHOLE WEEK! It was his first time at a kennel since I adopted him, and I was terrified he would have lil' doggie post traumatic stress disorder from his previous shelter experience (where he was on the list for euthanization). Little did I know that I was going to be the only one with PTSD from the separation because every time I spied on him via the webcam, he was so perfectly happy! I even took a snapshot of him smiling in the small yard. The webcam feature gave me such a huge piece of mind. At one point, the indoor run cam went down, and when I frantically called to inform them, they fixed it by the next day. I ashamedly called multiple times to check on him, and they were always so friendly and knew him by name. Colton was sad to leave at the end of the week, but I plan on bringing him back any time I have to fly out of town again. read more

My two fur-babies LOVE going to Barney's, whether it be for some play time at day care or a sleepover with boarding. We discovered Barney's online after moving to Dallas, and I was very wary at first since my babies had only been away from my 1-2 times since they were born and don't always do well with new people. However, my worry didn't last for long! We first went for a tour, and Bree was SO kind and patient with all of my questions. When we boarded them for the first time, the staff was very reassuring during drop off and even patient when I called to check in on them. Getting to watch my babies on the webcam is also a huge plus! Our anxious little babies absolutely love the owners, and we now frequently take them to daycare and for boarding, and could not be happier with our experiences. My family loves Barney's Ranch. Our lab mix Max has been going to daycare weekly for a year and a half. He comes home exhausted and happy - sending him allows me to work late one day a week and take the kids to their afterschool activities without worrying about him being at home alone. We check in on the webcam and love that the owner is able to tell us about Max's day and his best puppy friends. We have boarded over the weekend and have always found him to be in good spirits when we pick him up. I love that there is a late Sunday pick-up time as other boarding facilities I checked into do not have this. After staying in the large rooms/runs at Barneys, I wouldn't feel comfortable boarding him where there is no daycare or he would have to stay in a smaller crate. We recently relocated from Kansas to the Dallas area and needed somewhere to board our two large babies due to quite a bit of travel for family and work. We found Barney's Ranch and have continued to take our dogs back for regular overnight boarding. Our Hershey, a 100 lb Chocolate Lab and Harley, a 100 lb Bloodhound mix, can't wait to get in the door when we pull up to drop them off. They love the community environment where they can interact and play with other dogs. We love the Webcams so we can check in on our girls throughout the vacation. The staff are friendly and the facility is clean and well kept. Barney's Ranch is affordable and we are very impressed with their service. I wouldn't take my girls anywhere else! We have been taking our elderly beagle to Barney's Ranch for a few years now when we go on vacations for one or two weeks at a time. The staff seems wonderful - they know our dog, they know us on sight, they seem to genuinely like the dogs and to understand how to intermingle dogs with care. Our dog is a bit scared of other dogs, particularly small ones that yip and nip, so we were hesitant at first with the arrangements, but our dog has never come home in any way unhealthy (we board her during vacation; we do not use doggy daycare). She is exhausted, but happy. We love Bree and also the gentleman with the accent (so sorry I don't recall his name!). I have been taking our two dogs, Bo and Eddie, to Barney's Ranch for the past 8 months. After trying to find a dog boarding facility in the area that our dogs love, we decided to give Barney's Ranch a try. From the first time we dropped them off they loved it! Dropping Bo and Eddie off at daycare/boarding use to be a huge ordeal, they are momma's boys, but since their first stay as soon as we get out of the car they go running in tails wagging. I love being able to check on our dogs with the facilities webcams. It's reassuring to see the dogs enjoying their time outside with the other dogs. I've used Barney's Ranch for my own personal dogs as well as the rescue dogs in the organization that I belong to. They have always made sure that my dogs were as happy and as well cared for as possible (of course your dogs will always miss you). They have cameras so that you can watch your dogs on your laptop and see for yourself how happy they are. Our rescue dogs boarding at Barney's receive the personal touch so often missing from other boarding facilities. If you've tried other boarding facilities and weren't pleased, give Barney's a try I don't feel you will be disappointed I wasn't. They have great daycare especially for those really active dogs. Because of the large play yard they have fun and burn off some of that pent up energy. read more

Barneys deserves 10 stars!! My fur baby Buffy LOVES making the social rounds here. When she is not busy snoozing on one of their comfy outdoor beds, she is busy interacting with her favorite canine companions. Her favorite things about Barney's are the snacks for good behavior and getting lots of pats on the head. I LOVE that I can watch Buffy play by logging into their online webcam. I cannot say enough about Barney's boarding. Buffy stays here quite often and is always happy when I pick her up. Go for the suite....it has an infrared webcam where I login and can watch her sleep!! Our dog, Watson, is a 3 year old Welsh terrier. He's crazy high energy, and we've had problems at other kennels with employees not knowing how to handle him or his proclivity towards over-excitement around other dogs. The kind folks at Barney's have been amazing. I'm not sure what it is about the zen of the place, but watching him on their webcam he's the calmest I've seen him even when there are lots of other dogs on the lot. Plus he comes home tired, which we always appreciate! The owners have always been super friendly, and were more than happy to help us find some good veterinary options when we first moved to the area. Barney's Ranch was recommended to me and I am so grateful for that! The personnel at Barney's Ranch are professional and they are very prompt at check in. I am able to watch my dog on the web cam when on vacation and this gives me a sense of relief because I see my dog enjoying himself with the he other dogs and I have even see staff members providing activities for them to do outside. This last time I boarded my dog for 10 days and when I picked him up Barney's Ranch had washed him for me complimentary! My dog looked so clean and happy! Barney's is a DisneyWorld vacation for dogs....play, play, play! My Irish Wolfhounds, Sylvester and Seymour, and my big white fluff ball Phred, who is a Great Pyrenees& Komodor, have been boarded several times there. They wag their tails when they get there and come home clean, smelling sweet and happy. I can call while I am away to check on them. The staff are always happy to give me an update. I can't recommend them highly enough! .I know my big guys can be a handful, but they are obviously treated with kindness while there. My dogs not only came home tired and happy, but they smell good too! Like another reviewer said, you can tell that the staff at Barney's loves dogs and I had a great feeling leaving them there. I watched the video part of the first day and knew they were having fun and in good hands. I am so glad I saw a Groupon for Barney's the week we were leaving to go out of town! We board our three labs - Reb, Marley and Parker - with Barney's Ranch. Matt is extremely helpful and truly cares about the pets he's taking care of. We've had to make last minute arrangements for our pets and at 10 o'clock at night Matt was responding to our emails assuring us that our pups could board with him the next morning! I've taken my boys to Barney's Ranch for a couple years now. There is nothing like the feeling when my boys run into their arms when we get there. At the vet, I have to pull them in the doorway. Since I travel, I watch Frankie & Sonny on the webcam and always feel better seeing my boys chilling with the rest of the crew. I love the location - right on my way to DFW and right on I 35 when I have to travel south. I also appreciate that the owners know me and my hounds. I just made reservations again for our two little dogs. We have left them at Barney's several times for long weekends and also a week stay while we were on vacation. We have been very pleased. We feel that the owners and staff really care for the dogs in their care. The facility looks clean and smells good every time we have been there. Our little dogs are so special to us and we would only leave them somewhere we have trust in. The webcam is a definite plus for us. Our little poodle, Conan, LOVES Barney's Ranch! He is always happy when we pick him up. I'm happy because I can check him on the web-cam when we are out of town. Barney's is run by a young couple, Matt and Brie, who work 7 days a week. I found them on Groupon where they had a great offer. Before that I had never taken my dog to Barney's. Now I take him in at 7 a.m. 10 minutes later I can see him playing on the web cam. He gets to play and socialize all day--almost never stuck in a crate. He comes home tired and ready to eat and sleep--just like I want. As good as it gets. P.S. You should always check other day care web cams to see how much or how little the dogs get to play. Always hard to leave the fur babies when we travel but the folks here at Barney's Ranch make it so much easier! We have quite the pack of pups (Three Beagles!) and they all love their stays here. Both Matt and Bree are incredibly helpful and accommodating to our often last minute requests for boarding.
