Brand new Barnes & Noble to the Orange County Area! This new location is one that most of us have been waits by for after we lost the first one near the Main Mall in Santa Ana. This new location is right in the Outlets of Orange. You can easily walk into the Barnes & Noble, because the entrance is facing the parking lot itself. I'd recommend coming on weekdays instead of the weekends, because it does get full. This bookstore doesn't have your regular parallel bookshelves. It's top down and makes you turn corners. I did need to read the signs often to figure out what section I'm in. I think I'd rather have everything in aisles, but it does help you get your steps in. They are stocked with books by genre and type. It's very clean, but very busy for a Sunday evening. Still, very thankful to have a new and close location yet again! read more

My brother asked me to buy him a Wings of Fire book from a Barnes and Noble place since he loves that book series. I was near this place, and figured they likely have one. I was right. They do sell that kind of book at this location. The female employee was kind enough to get the book for me. Since I needed to use the restroom, she gave me the code to this place, and I typed it down on my phone and she confirmed it to me. After using the restroom, she had the book at the checkout counter. She asked me for my email and then I typed it down on my phone because I used to work at a college bookstore in another town and during training, the trainers told us to ask female customers to write down their email addresses and phone numbers for safety reasons. The female employee told me that it was a smart choice for me to do and I was able to get the book for my brother. He loves it. read more

Keep track of where you park. You might get lost this place is huge. The service is quick the selections are numerous. The value is great. read more

First time at this location at the Orange outlets (The Block). There's so many books selection, puzzles, good quality notebooks, calendars, stationary, board games, mini trinkets, art kits, candy, etc. As well as a coffee cafe in the store to enjoy as you study/read. Though there isn't much seating within the store, I'd still come back if I ever want to choose a present for a book worm. The employees are so nice and checked out was quick. I'd say the price for some items was really pricey in comparison to searching online for a cheaper option. But then again, pricey are good quality items. read more

I miss brick and mortar bookstores - so was stoked to hear that Barnes and Noble opened up shop here at The Block of Orange (or whatever its called now). After watching Avatar 3 at the AMC in the same shopping mall, I wandered around the place trying to find Barnes and Nobles. Holy crap. For a store that was built recently - they really failed at design when they decide to implement it so there's NO direct walkway from the mall to the storefront. You literally have to walk around the outer perimeter of the mall to get here. You can see it from In N Out, but it's flanked by the Nike Store and Bloomingdales. Location aside - it's a beautiful store. High ceilings create an airy flow, but the store layout and sections are well-designed, creating warm and cozy nooks throughout the store. The magazine section is probably the smallest I've seen in a B&N (compared to say, the one at Bella Terra). There's a B&N cafe here - with ample offerings and seating. Service was wonderful throughout my visit! I chatted with several staff members - sharing the excitement of a brand new store (mentioning that it still had that "new store/new book" smell to it. Apparently they've only been open since Black Friday 2025. Lots of cute little sections, including several coves dedicated to stationary, gifts, greeting cards, and artwork. I was able to snag a nice boxed set of thank you cards here. Prices are fair - I mean, it's mostly List price here, since they do have a physical storefront and thus, upkeep/overhead. There are bargain-priced books throughout the store, and their membership does offer 10% off the store & cafe - at $40/yr. Checkout was a bit long - only two clerks upfront with a line about six customers deep. Overall, a nice little visit as I was looking forward to checking out this spot. I returned to this Barnes and Noble after yelp removed my first review saying it did not reflect an actual experience (which I view as the same as calling me a liar). It was not a positive review as I was treated rudely, the details of which I will not repeat as apparently I am not allowed to write about it. So I specifically returned to buy something just to prove I was really there and had an actual shopping experience. On my return visit, I took photos of the interior of the store and also a photo of my credit card billing (to show I made a purchase) as visual proof to satisfy both yelp and the business. On my return visit, I saw that they had books. Also lots of other stuff that were not books. I needed a calendar. They had a few on a rack and I chose one. We are very happy that Barnes & Noble reopened again at the Block. The store is very modern and it has many new collections especially Lego, Calico Critters, blind boxes and more. The prices are reasonable like other bookstores. Some blind boxes are more expensive than other stores in the mall so make sure you shop around first. The Starbucks inside this store does not accept Startbucks Rewards so get the Barnes & Nobles Rewards if you have not done so. The staff are very nice and friendly. It's always nice to sit and relax during your shopping trips :) read more

It is hard to find this bookstore-- park near Nike across from Krispy Kreme. If you're walking, go around Nike or walk across from Bloomingdale's I think. Besides that, love the selection they have. Also has a cafe. I'll definitely consider exploring the store more! read more

If you like to read, listen to music, journal, write letters , buy gifts for people of all ages , this is your place !!! This was my first time at this location and I was pleasantly surprised! It was very busy for a Friday afternoon , other customers were friendly . There is also a nice Starbucks inside the book store so you can take a quick break from shopping or go to work on your computer (many customers were using their computer or tablet) very quiet and peaceful atmosphere. They also had a reading selection you could purchase for $5.00 if you bought any item from the Starbucks , a nice perk ! I am so happy to see a new book store and so many customers!! read more

This particular B&N makes me feel claustrophobic. There are too many books and merch stuffed in this space that there's barely enough room to roam around without bumping into a table or other people. Also, good luck finding an associate to help you locate what you're looking for. I came to this location because a book I wanted was supposedly in stock, according to the B&N website. I spent about half an hour searching for the book to no avail. I walked around the entire store to find an associate to help me, but I couldn't find anyone. So I went back to the shelves to try and find the book by myself. Then I eventually overheard someone asking an associate something, so I waited my turn to ask for help, but it turned out the associate was on break. But at least he was kind enough to lead me to the front desk cashiers to ask one of them to assist me before he left for his break. I explained to the cashier I was looking for a certain book but couldn't find it on the shelf. She typed in the title and said, "Oh, it's on hold." And didn't elaborate further. So I clarified, "Does that mean it's not available on the shelf?" And she said, "Yeah, it's not on the shelf." And she didn't offer any solutions like trying to order another copy to be shipped to the store or something, so I just left the store emptyhanded after that. Really disappointing that I wasted time at this store because the website said the book was in stock when it actually wasn't. read more

The art book selection has grown a bit but the choices are small compared to the other locations. This is a great new Barnes & Nobel! It is located near In n out. They have a small lot right near their entrance that can sometimes be a challenge to find a spot, if the mall is busy that day. Inside they have a decently good sized Starbucks cafe. The layout of this store is a little different than others and in some areas doesn't flow well. However, the organization and how perfectly put together everything is makes this a great store. I am excited to see this store grow into something wonderful! read more

As I entered this B&N location, I felt I was being judged by an employee who appeared inadequately trained. The employee seemed to mistake me for another customer who had come in earlier and made assumptions about me before even hearing my request. When I asked about a newly released toy, I was immediately turned down without much effort to assist me or verify whether the item was available. The interaction felt dismissive and unprofessional. If employees are going to represent the store, they should receive proper training in customer service and avoid making assumptions about customers. This experience left me questioning the hiring and training standards at this location. Because of this non-verbal interaction, I am now hesitant to visit other B&N stores, as the feeling of being unprofessionally judged has stayed with me. read more

I stopped by the new Barnes and Noble in my area after seeing lots of buzz on social media about the opening. I am so excited to have a B&N a little more local to me. This location is small in comparison to other cities I have visited but I still feel like they had a lot of great options. The layout of the store felt a bit strange to me, it was a labyrinth of aisles with no clear direction but I did make my way to every section they had to offer. I went on the final day of their Black Friday deals, I didn't know this but it was a bonus for me. I bought 4 books in addition to some 2 player games which I was very happy to pick up. Finding fun two player games for myself and my partner to play at home has been difficult and we came home with 3! The prices of the books were not bad in my opinion, averaging around $15 each for the 4 I purchased. I did find a beautiful cloth bound copy of the Grimm's Fairy Tales, they had a wall of options all made in the cloth bound style. I saw maybe 4/5 staff members on the floor, each were stocking or organizing an area of the store. The ones I interacted with were nice. Since I did start off which such a big haul I have some books to read before I make my way back to this B&N but I definitely will be back! read more

If you shopped here anytime during 12/26 through 12/28, bring it up with the store manager to get 25%-50% of your purchase back. The sales associates here are dishonest. I returned for the "25% off almost everything, 50% off select hardcovers" end of the year sale. There were 2 of 3 books I wanted at this store so I came here first. The associate that rang me up didn't apply the discount, so I had to show her the B&N website book listings. Made me feel like I'm making more work for her, she only applied the discount to one of the books so I had to tell her again that both of my books were on sale on the store website. She said she didn't know the sale was going on, I immediately pointed at the sign right by her hand advertising the sale. This was the end of the night and it was a BUSY night, a LOT of people were paying full price without knowing the sale was going on. I had my B&N Rewards card but she claimed the program was discontinued and that I can only upgrade to a premium paid membership so I didn't get any points this purchase. She just looked at me like she wanted me out right away. The next day I went to the HB location for the third book I wanted, here they had balloons and signs for the end of the year sale literally everywhere it was hard to miss. The HB associate applied the 50% hardcover discount without me mentioning it AND I got points for my B&N Rewards card that B&N Orange claimed no longer existed. read more

I love this Barnes and Noble. They usually have what I need in stock. Unfortunately today I had a bad customer service experience with Paulina. Paulina was incredibly sarcastic when I asked her for her help with finding an item that was left in the wrong spot. Her exact words were to me were "If you find it, good job". After she had told me there were probably none left, even if they were in the wrong spot. She did not bother to check or verify. Not to mention, she scoffed and looked me up and down when I said "Hello" to get her attention. Not sure what I did exactly, but I hope she has a better day. When my boyfriend asked for help, she kindly grabbed the book he was looking for and brought it to him. I thought she would at least look up the barcode on the current item I had and see if anymore were in stock. I just mention my boyfriend's experience because of the stark contrast.
