Quaint little bookstore with a good selection of both new and used. There's a few spots to sit and read, and they serve coffee too. If you need help finding something, you will need to go to the counter to ask. And for the avid readers, there's book clubs that you can join. It's a must stop for the page turners.

Arvida Book Co is a gem of a bookstore located in the heart of Old Town Tustin. This bookstore is home to a variety of genre of books with brand new books and secondhand books to browse from. To get here, they have a small parking lot with about 3-4 spots or there is also street parking all around the area. Inside, they have a cozy and welcoming setup with curated books around every nook and corner. What I love about this spot is that there are always so many things to check out and everything is so well organized. The prices for the books are also very fair! Overall, this shop is definitely one of my favorite local bookstores in OC. All of the staff here are very friendly and welcoming. Come stop by to support and you will not leave empty handed forsure!

I've walked by this store so many times and never had the time or opportunity to stop in. That all changed last weekend and I'm so glad I know what this store is all about now. They have a few small plants for sale outside, they sell coffee/tea, and a great variety of both new and used books from various genres. They play great music and they have one of the most inviting children's areas unlike any other in OC. I always try to find bookstores that are independently owned and operated small businesses to support and this one is woman owned to boot. I work just a couple miles away from Arvida so it's going to have to be my new go to bookstore for gifts! After visiting I checked out their website and learned they have all sorts of events too! Bookclubs, craft events, open mics etc. I signed up for their mailing list to

You know, I used to work in Old Town Tustin back in the early 2000s at a sushi restaurant called Kitajima. It feels like decades ago (cause it was) but I always remembered Old Town Tustin had a very unique feel, especially being in Orange County. There is a feeling to it I can only describe as being similar to Stars Hollow from "Gilmore Girls". Growing up, I desired that type of vibe and familiarity but only found a coffee shop here or a store there fitting into theme. As I get older, I still yearn for such places and it was by chance I was able to stumble upon Arvida Book Co. on a cloudy day in November. Serendipitous, but a welcome turn of chance to find such an amazing book store. Firstly, the place has to be understood as more of a reading space than a book store. Yes, it has books although the selection isn't large. Instead, it can be seen as well curated with a moderate amount of books from different genres along with used and new books for sale. The best parts of this place though is how easy it is to fall into a book and get cozy in its space. There are plenty of different nooks and chairs to simply plop down and enjoy. There's even a small reading nook located in the space near the children's section and fantasy books. The children's section is also ornately decorated to give a space kids would love to spend time in. There is also a cafe located inside (although it was closed for the day we visited) and a small stage where you can see it can be used for small performances. All and all, I can't stop thinking about how wonderful and warm this place was. Though I don't have many reasons to visit Orange County these days coming here will always be a welcomed visit from me.

Seeing this display let me know, I was in for a treat!

I had a chance to check out this book shop for a reading event that evening. It was banned book week and I took delight in the caution tape in the window coupled with displays of these "illicit" books. Arvida has comfy books to sit and read, a fun children's area, previously owned books, a coffee shop, and an enclosed open-air patio. The staff are attentive and friendly. There were many titles packed into the space without creating a sense of overwhelm - pricing, I assume is standard (since I am currently on a self-imposed restriction and can't buy anymore books until I read the latest stack). Great place to visit, hang out, and indulge in a great read!

This bookstore is amazing so beautiful and so well organize, employees are so sweet and very helpful and the fact that they have a small coffee shop inside is even better. The atmosphere is so warm and makes you not want to leave. They have an amazing assortment of books at great prices. I absolutely love that they have a section for the kids.

My wife LOVES books. We go to bookstores and libraries wherever we go. She loves finding great bookstores and this is one of them for used books. A really nice selection of used books. Fun to browse. Cute kids section with even a kid cubby for them to read in. The person working there was friendly and knowledgeable. The prices were good, typical of used book pricing. The place has a little coffee bar and a hidden courtyard in the back with tables and chairs. Another big plus is the parking. We were there on a busy Saturday morning and found no street parking. The cute downtown was packed. When we got to the bookstore, we were not expecting a spot but found its exclusive little parking lot with 4 spots and three of them empty.

Arvida Book Co has the essence of cozy and peaceful just by its interior & atmosphere. The choices of used books were decent as well as the new books selection. The price value of each used books at Arvida Book Co is pretty good especially for myself who goes to several other second hand bookstores. The service is good and mainly at checkout. Personally, when I'm shopping or even just browsing for books I don't like to be asked too often if I'm doing okay, looking for something specific or being followed and endlessly being recommended books. As much as I appreciate the extra service I prefer book shopping on my own accord--it's more peaceful than someone always hovering over you. Luckily, Arvida Book Co was great at making sure you're exploring on your own and if need of assistance that they're easily spotted. This bookstore is in the heart of Old Town Tustin. Swing by for a relaxing and peaceful day whether during the work week or the weekend.

gorgeous used bookstore with a coffee shop inside so you literally never have to leave. lots of seating too to lounge and read. selection is unique and eclectic in the used section but they have a display in the front for my contemporary titles. one of my favorite bookstores in SoCal

It's a cute little bookstore that gives off small town energy. The air is always wafting with the scent of coffee from the coffee stand inside the store. I've never tried their coffee, but I'm so tempted to have a taste the next time I visit. They also have plenty of comfy seats inside, and there's several occasions where I've seen someone bring their dog in here to chill and read. The decorations really bring everything together with the overall cozy vibe of the store. I also noticed on their Instagram that they also hold book club meetings. They sorta mix their used books with their new books, so it's a little tricky to figure out the price of the each book. Luckily, the used books typically have the price penciled in on the title page. A nice place! I recommend checking it out.

This book store is TOP NOTCH. The owners were intentional about creating a space that is an overall asset to the community. First and foremost they have av beautifully designed children's section that makes even the eldest of us want to snuggle up in the cozy reading corner with a book. Then they have an outdoor veranda decked with greenery that can host anything from a book club meeting to an author chat and they do list that! Did I mention they also have really awesome book themed Christmas decor as well? Love it. I needed a spot to host my book clubs end of year meeting this summer and they welcomed us with open arms. That SAME DAY they were holding a speed dating event immediately after which is so fun and cool. The owners are kind and it's clear they care about the people of the community. They actively have community events that range from fix it fairs to book signings for up and coming artists. Absolutely adore place! And they have an in store COFFEE shop- fresh brewed!

The staff couldn't locate them either and said they would update the inventory. So the inventory site is unreliable. Secondly, upon ringing me up for $20, I produced the voucher thinking it would cover the entire cost. Unfortunately, it is only good for half the price of your purchase. When I expressed my confusion about this policy. The tall crotchety old man raised his voice and loudly repeated: "Good for HALF the purchase!" Sir there is no only else inside the store. It's not loud in there. I was your only customer all afternoon. There was no need to raise your voice at me. How embarrassing to get to the ripe old age of grey and still be throwing tantrums at paying customers no less! I should have left the store without purchasing anything but I was just so stunned! I understand that I failed to thoroughly read the small text at the bottom of the voucher that explains their policy. The old man could have simply referred to the text on the voucher instead of displaying such disrespectful behavior. Take your business elsewhere because your patronage is obviously not valued here.

Maybe it's the proximity of this particular location to Japanese businesses or perhaps there's just…read moresomething about this part of OC, but I found this Bookoff to be a delight. Sure, the parking can be hectic sometimes. After all, there is a Tokyo Central right next to it, but that's what makes this location so good. You can spend hours perusing the aisles for some good finds but can take a break and get some Pocky or a bento or a Fanta nearby without ever breaking theme. What's even better is it feels like the employees enjoy working here. They greet you warmly when you walk in and that hospitality Japan is known for is reflected in this staff, even if they aren't Japanese and this isn't Japan; the spirit still carries. So does the nostalgia walking through the aisles. If you played video games throughout the 90s to now you'll see pieces of your childhood everywhere you look: a Super Famicom with Chrono Trigger for sale or a Vegeta action figure going Super Saiyan or the many mangas of Rumiko Takahashi such as Ranma 1/2 or Inuyasha. In encapsulates otaku culture through the ages well. Even looking for books of different genres and authors can be found, some new but most used. It doesn't mean they aren't good. It just means they're pre-loved. This means you can get a bargain for some books you might have been meaning to check out for a great price. They also have book sales all the time. If you feel a need to lighten your collection at home, whether it be action figure or games you no longer play, Bookoff buys them from you. It means your cash could go even further if you have things to sell. Though the size of Bookoffs in America does have me wishing they were larger like their Japanese counterparts they do pack quite a lot for the space they occupy. You can spend 15 minutes to multiple hours here, depending on what you're looking for. I say that means it's worth checking out. After all, the worst that can happen is if you don't find anything to tickle your fancy you can always go to Tokyo Central or IKEA right after.

I love this spot. It's one of the OGs, and I've been coming here for a long time. There are some…read moregenuinely great finds--plenty of $1 items, solid deals on DVDs, and every once in a while something really special slips through the cracks. That said, the pricing is all over the place. It's obvious they rely heavily on some kind of algorithm to assign value, and when it works in your favor, it really works. I've picked up items worth hundreds of dollars for a few bucks. But the flip side is rough--things priced at $100 that you could easily find for $10-15 elsewhere. That inconsistency is both the magic and the frustration. Selling to them is another story. They'll give you next to nothing unless it's something truly high-end, and even then, you're usually better off selling elsewhere. The margins are so far off at times that it really makes you wonder who's willing to take those deals. They do require ID and seem to follow the rules, but the reality is this kind of setup attracts people who either don't know what they have, don't care, are impatient, or are desperate. And yes, it also likely attracts people unloading stolen goods because they know the items are valuable, even if the payout is low. The store itself is very DIY. Nothing is cataloged, staff can't really help you with inventory, and what you see is what's available. Customer service is minimal--they're mostly focused on sorting and loss prevention. There's also an awkward dynamic between management and floor staff that you can feel when you're in there. At the end of the day, this place is a gamble. Sometimes you walk out feeling like you scored big. Other times you find something rare and exciting that's priced so high it might as well be untouchable. It almost screams desperation and lack of knowledge on the selling side--but ironically, that's exactly what brings in so much good stuff. If you know what you're doing and have patience, this place can be incredible. If not, it'll just feel chaotic.
