I love these books!
Christine G.

Decided to stop by as I was across the street. I read lots of books. This is one of the only bookstores left. We need to reconnect with books. Go in. Search around. Find what your interest is, and read a book. They also have magazines, gifts and a Starbucks! I was treated very nicely at checkout. Grabbed some nice books and I'm on my way. Located West Charleston and Fort Apache

Lots of book selections for kids. We were mainly here for our son. Loved the kid area tucked back in the corner. Happy they still have a few BnN still open to enjoy the nostalgic feeling.

This is my go to place if I'm searching for a book. Who am I kidding? I think Barnes & Noble is probably the only large chain bookstore in the Las Vegas valley. I go to this location because it's located in an area that is convenient to me. The store is big and they do carry a good variety of books, novelty items and children's interest. There's even a Starbucks cafe for those who want to enjoy a cup of joe or snack. My only dislike is that the store needs an update. It' feels dingy in there and the Starbucks area is in need of a refurbishment as well. It kinda feels like this store is struggling to stay open. Heck, the public library has nicer bookshelves and seating than this Barnes & Noble. It was sad to see how empty this store was on a Monday night. I hope it's because I came at the wrong time and or day. I miss seeing how this place was bustling with book lovers.

First time visiting this location. Great selections of books, it was so crowded I will have to go back so I can take my time going through the isles again. They have great deals and sales here, nothing seems overpriced. When I went to check out I felt very rushed as all the cashiers were yelling & rushing everyone in line to check out & pay. I wanted to take my time looking at the bookmarks & magazines that's provided in line on the way to the checkout people but they kept yelling for the next person in line, it was a little stressful. They offered me the rewards card which I signed up for but their explanation took foreverrrrrr. Just sign me up & let me go since you rushed me to the cashier anyway haha.

Today I went in to pick up some poem books, and Legos. At check out, the lady told me do I want to sign up for a prime membership it would be free because I'm spending so much and it would save me 10% The fucking lie will show you on the receipt that she indeed charge me for a membership of 39.99 How awful you must be to lie for your own good, do you guys get bonus point for doing that to people or Extra pay on your paycheck? I will be returning and have a whole conversation with the cashier and the manager . Don't tell customer that is a free membership and yet try to sneak it in without thinking that I'm going to look at my own receipt and what I spend my dime on. People work hard for their money. The last thing anybody need is a staff for them to be lied to over some membership when your staff clearly say is free.

It's Saturday 7/6/2024 at about 6:00 pm. It's pretty busy here. Lots of mothers and young kids picking books and little toys to enjoy. There were many books on sale and the people they helped me pick them. Always a good selection of books and magazines to choose from. They also helped me to order a book. The people are always friendly and helpful. With all the sales and discounts, the store, here, your dollar goes a long way.

More than just a bookstore. They have games for family game night, toys, DVDs and music too. Staff has always been friendly and helpful here.

A book how it breathes life and makes an individual feel happy and alive…read more Our most recent visit here was "just because!" After home schooling the kids for over a decade this was our favorite place to be. Much has changed over the years, but the importance is this. This Barnes and Noble has gotten just better ! The kids area has evolved into something better. Having children with special needs they carry an excellent sensory experience area where an individual can purchase and use as needed for their children. The book selection is designed well. It comes with a reading area for the little ones. Try the book out before you go home. If you're into the manga reads they can order what you don't have, as needed. They have an excellent selection of this genre . It's the twins favorite things to read at the moment. It's a little bit of everything for all sorts of different tastes. The point is you're just reading. If you need your caffeine and a little nook to read your book they have a cafe with coffee and snacks. It's just a place to come and visit and relax. Find a new book and enjoy life. The value for our books has gone up recently but it's still worth the money. Now let's get busy and build more brain power and create something better for all to see . Read and learn the secrets of the world. Let the staff here be your guide.

Service is very poor, we were looking for a certain book and we asked FELICIA if she works here,…read moreshe said NO. After looking around for our book and was unsuccessful, we went to the help desk and SHE was there smh. Why did she said she doesn't work here. She needs to be retrain or something

They have an amazing selection, with reasonable prices. They also feature so many Vegas artists, authors, and poets. It's so nice to see a business that consistently puts in effort to promote local artists. Avantpop also hosts events! I recently went and enjoyed their Cosmic Q poetry night, which featured a bunch of local poets reading their work to us. It was such a nice event, that really showcased their support for our community. Please, stop in and support such an amazing local business!! Shwa and Sugar absolutely deserve all the love!

A local, world-renowned chef in Sin City, Chef Boy Satan, passed away…read more This rare original issue of Propaganda circa 1994 was formerly his, but Shwa Laytart of Avantpop gently passed the torch into my possession. RIP, mate~ // I have always fancied the solitary aspect of immersing in literary works. It is, however, concurrently delightful to strike up a conversation in an independent bookstore with fellow overzealous ''reading freaks,'' as noted in a reflection one is bound to catch in its chambers. 'twas such a pleasure witnessing Laytart being equally as enraptured as me when he spoke about death, oddities, and literature, hah~ x // When geomagnetic storms ignited luminescent polar auroras and when the lines of magnetic force between Earth and the sun intersected with one another, the center of the "X" spot where the lines met was where a magnetic portal formed: Avantpop Bookstore. Anyhow, if you are ever in Sin City, fire up your rocket's spark igniters and make your way to new land. Quoting Aunt Ida from Female Trouble (1974), ''The world of the heterosexual is a sick and boring life.'' Upholstered with revolutionary scholars, the Beat Generation, Gonzo journalism, political defiance, banned classics, local artists and activists, rare gems, individualistic figures of all sorts, and the filth of John Waters, you are, rest assured, in for a ''Divine,'' queer experience. Parallel to that thought, if you ever synthesize a penchant for somber, witty poetry, luxuriate yourself in some of Avantpop co-owner, Laytart's, written works-best served with a joint in hand. In the course of frolicking around the shelves, you may wonder how much your birth mother despises you, but ahhh, you need not fret for you will be reminded Gaia loathes your guts just as much. When asked to solve for x, the Chris Korda piece that lies before you hints the solution: X = Save the planet; kill yourself. *Whistles Dada in the streets of Boston to the tune of The Smiths' ''Panic on the streets of London.''* At some point, I am quite certain you will start to hear Rod Serling narrate your life. Where has this review even gone? Oh, the places you will go~ x Overall, you will be departing from the shop glowing in the dark, developing an itch you cannot scratch, which forms a gaping hole in your torso, and leaving you to wonder if the intestine emerged before the tapeworm~ x
