This location had to grow on me a little because of the renovation. I love the way the stores used to look before they all renovated to a less cozy, more modern look. But, this location always has what I need and has probably become one my favorite B&N location in the area. The staff is always very nice and they get through a long line of customers very quickly in the checkout line as they always have plenty of people working. The cafe is always quick with drinks too. Usually if the store near me doesn't have a book I want, this location always does, and I can get in and out quickly. Can't wait to take another trip to Cary to visit again.

Beautiful. Large. Little of everything....which makes it possible that they don't have enough of any one genre. This felt more like a show room. A beautiful showroom. Many of the gifts and stationary were a bit expensive. My friend and I were also on the hunt for a game. Found one. Again, not a lot of choices. Clean. Plenty of places to sit.

The crazy line to get a book signed

My wife and I came here for a book signing. The line was insane, going back and forth between the front and back of the store several times. The employees did an excellent job of keeping the aisles clear, though, and of coordinating so many people. The store is clean, bright, and inviting. I don't know if it's just been a while since I was in a Barnes & Noble, or if this one has a bigger selection than I'm used to, or both. But, this place had an impressive selection of books. I was especially pleased with the children and young adult sections as I was thinking about my granddaughters. They are still young but as a grandfather, it's important for me to plan ahead and spoil them :-) They had a nice selection of reduced items, too, and some of the prices were quite low for the products being offered. Overall I have nothing but accolades for this store and give them 5 stars.

Welcome to the Barnes & Nobles Flea Market

UNPROFESSIONAL MANAGEMENT & EMPLOYEES: *The person in the picture comes EVERY DAY and paints. *Occupies a full table with his set up - preventing customers from utilizing it to eat or drink coffee bought or to sit and read. *He takes NAPS regularly, again preventing others from using the table. *He HARESSES customers by forcing himself on them by approaching them with his paintings, trying to solicit sales. Or, will randomly do the same showing pics on his phone of his merchandise, again soliciting a sale. *People have COMPLAINED to the MANAGER and employees that the store is being run like a flea market instead of a business. MANAeGER HAS NO CLUE Store only has 4 unisex bathrooms. Incredibly, EVERY ONE of the toilet seats is loose. Have been for MONTHS. All it takes is for someone to tighten the bolts holding the seats to correct it. Yet, she has no sense of responsibility or professionalism. Consequently, customers take a risk sitting on it not realizing it will slide to one side or the other. EMPLOYEES REFLECT THE MANAGER 30% of the employees are within the "normal" spectrum of society in terms of appearance and personality. The rest are more interested in forcing their atypical persona and presence on customers with their commiserating attitudes. The employees do not know that they're working - especially at a bookstore - thus it is not appropriate to laugh out loud amongst themselves where customers can hear them from the other end of the store. There is no baseline societal decorum at this place as the manager does not know what acceptable behavior by adults or children is, hence cannot train the employees to deal with circumstances that should not be tolerated. So, welcome to the Wild, Wild, West...

Definitely not coming here again, Barns and nobles has lost their way. It's a shame to see. Books are cheaper online anyways.

They fixed the outlets in the cafe and updated the decor to make it less sterile. I appreciate that they listened to people.

We looked the truck for our Eleven and nine year old party. The team was on time and communicated…read morewhen they would arrive and how long they would be there. They did a great job of setting up the truck and even play music during the entire party time. When we book the trip we were offered by two hours get an additional hour for free. The kids love the variety of game systems and games offer. They were able to take terms and even had some of the staff interact with them and play the games with them as well. We love that the truck is family owned and operated. They showed all of the guests nothing but respect and Kept a great eye on the children as well. We would love to book with them again It made sure that we passed their information along to all of the parents that we know. They also had business cards to give out to the other parents as they arrived. The truck was clean and organized. The kids also really in love the LED lights that changed as they played their games. The screens were nice and big.

Beware! Let me say for the record --- as a small business owner myself, I would NEVER treat someone…read morethe way I've been treated here, and I would never cancel an order without making every attempt to get in touch with them, I would also never hang up on a customer... and it takes a lot for me to write a bad review, so if I'm writing this you know the situation was bad. I booked a gaming truck for my son's 10th birthday. I got a confirmation email that the booking request was received and then my PayPal was deducted the $100. I feel like I talked via email to someone to confirm, but I never could find that email. In July I emailed ensuring that we were on the schedule, and I saw my 4pm slot was greyed out online. All good! This week I've been swamped with work, trying to get ready for my son's party & out of town guests. I have been looking out for some sort of communication from them for the pat few days, but there's been no communication. Yesterday morning I sent an email seeing if there's anything else I need to do. By early afternoon I had not gotten a response, so I go on their website to find a phone number. As I'm searching I see that it says payment is due 5 days before so yes I agreed to it (no problem, never has been, but it was so strange that no one has reached out for payment, and honestly I forgot about this 5 day thing.... I booked in April!). But if I got an invoice, I would have paid. And then I see our 4pm slot for 9/3 is now available, and I got worried (see screenshot). I called Sophia. She told me that I didn't pay so she cancelled after 3 email attempts!! She NEVER even tried to call me. Then she said that they are already booked for tomorrow so she can't help me (although their website clearly says all slots are open). She never apologizes and is basically like "well, it is what it is. There's nothing I can do". Yes, I was heated as my 10 year old was sitting right beside me listening to this with tears welling up in his eyes bc his gaming truck is not coming. I was not yelling, in fact I was in the lobby of DPAC dealing with this, about to go see Wicked with my boy. I was not yelling and I was not rude. I did heatedly tell her that I can't believe they do business like this. AND SHE HUNG UP ON ME!!! How do you cancel a reservation without making every attempt to get in touch with the person who booked it?! The ONLY mention of this 5 day thing is on the booking page. I'll add screenshots of policies, it's not there. I told her I've searched my inbox, there are no emails from her (see attached image.... nothing), and I asked what email she sent it to.... she looked and said "your first name and last name @gmail.com". I said that's not my email. My email has my middle initial in it between first and last. She goes "oh yeah, it was that email". I have now asked for screenshots of emails. Unbelievable she blamed it all on me! Asking me why didn't I call if I knew payment was due 5 days before bc I agreed to that when I booked. Again, I booked in April! Blaming the customer... how disrespectful. I rely on the company to bill me and tell me when a payment is due, and call me if perhaps it slipped through the cracks and there's no response. We even had an email thread going, and she didn't even attempt to reply to that. There's a part of me that wonders if they were ever going to show up, and if this is a scam. She took my $100 deposit (that she refuses to give back) and blames me, claiming that the customer should just remember to contact her to pay 5 days in advance. No where on policies does it say the things she's suggesting about payment and cancellation. It's shady!!!! If you want a reliable gaming company, go with GAME ON. I called them after this BS, begging them to help us. My 10 year old was in tears at the DPAC, so upset over this cancellation, and Game On went above and beyond to make sure that one of their gaming trucks will be here for us tomorrow!! Carolina Gaming is unreliable and I do not trust them. Stay away if you want the truck to actually show up at your kid's party.
