So nostalgic coming in here. As an elementary teacher, there is something really magical about stepping into the children's book section. I always find so much inspiration for my classroom library. Music section was a nice little time capsule. CDs and DVDs are alive and well; with Vinyl records holding on strong. 4 stars because the Starbucks inside isn't technically a Starbucks...They don't sell Starbucks merchandise nor do they accept Starbucks gift cards so that was a little surprisingly, and disappointing. read more

This is a large store and yet I find it hard to shop for my 11 year old granddaughter. The kids section is way too young and the teen section was too mature in subject material. I like the store for myself and they always have good deals. read more

Really enjoy coming to this location. The Barnes in noble is conveniently located in a shopping strip, with other stores closely near by. There is also a Starbucks located inside, which has a short but good selection of food and desserts to choose from. The staff is friendly, and the store is nicely organized. The selection of books for kids is great. They have a reading and activity center. Great entertainment for children. Will definitely be returning to this location. read more

I secretly hate Barnes and Nobles, for several reasons. I especially hate that Barnes and Nobles survived and Borders died. That hurts me the most. This place sucks big time! You can never find anywhere to sit and read a book, the seating is always limited. The customer service associates always seem like they got something stuck up them and they come off with an attitude from the start. The bookstore irks of the smell of coffee because someone thought it was a good idea to pair Starbucks with B&N. The prices are so expensive. When you feel as if you are saving money, you end up spending more. Two things that are overrated: Starbucks and B&N. I hate how every college and university school bookstore is always B&N, so you already know you are spending extra for a textbook and some supplies. Oh and when you try and go sell your books back, you never get the full or close to the full amount...ripoff. Also, the B&N rewards card isn't free. The one at Borders was, but not this one. The rewards card is $25 and you hardly get much of a reward, only 10% off of purchases and coffee, plus express shipping. That isn't much rewards. The customer service cashiers lie to you at first and tell you that the rewards card is FREE. "Bait and Switch" scam, but as you are filling out your information on the card which takes forever, they then tell you that the card is $$. All these lies. I asked the lady twice, if the card was free and she told me yes, it was, but when we rang up it she tells me otherwise. Then, I told her no I don't want the card anymore, she then pressures me to get it, repeatedly. Oh my goodness! She put on a sad looking face, eww. Also, if you want a book shipped to the store, the shipping fee isn't free, but instead, $3.99. WTF? More money. I felt like I was speaking to Uncle Sam, instead of B&N personnel. I wish B&N would have failed and not Borders. I never received such headache from Borders nor Books-a-million, only B&N. Oh and please get rid of those heavy doors..from the outside. read more

This is always a solid location for my book needs. If they don't have what I'm looking for, they are more than willing to order it. Very rarely do I have to pre-pay before the book arrives. A lot of times that books are also cheaper than Amazon and other retailers. My mom also enjoys the music section and the service there is also great. What I find particularly interesting is that the BN discount card is also applicable in Starbucks, which is awesome! read more

This Barnes n noble is great! Only thing that it's missing in the Starbucks are extensions to plug in your devices. My laptop was dead and I thought I would be able to charge it here and I couldn't due to the fact that there were no extensions. Other than that this place is good. Friendly staff. read more

This is the closest Barnes and Noble store for those of us in Baytown and although it's right smack dab in the middle of a busy shopping center, we love to frequent it on the regular. What I really like about this particular store is that they have a clearance section near Starbucks with all kinds of goodies. Books, adult coloring books, toys, dolls, movies and I've even found Harry Potter shirts- all for 50% off the listed price. They've also got three or four aisles of discounted books, coloring books and crafting kits. At the front they offer beautiful journals, passport holders and the newest and most popular books. I love to pick up their latest shopping bags because they're sturdy and adorable to boot! I've never had a major problem with the Starbucks but I'll add that they don't always have black tea and they do not let you use your Starbucks card. Don't buy into the B&N card. It isn't free and unless you're here 3-4 times a week buying books, you won't get much use out of it. read more

Well, it IS a Barnes & Noble, so it's exactly what you expect. That being said, as a general rule I can get lost in a good book store. But I wouldn't necessary call B&N "good" unless, of course, you're solely looking for the new pop culture pics and new releases. Then up the rating goes. My daughter wanted a book that we knew would not be at Half Price. We found the book, Pegasus, and I got one, too, Treasure Island. B&N has some classics, but I was looking for a specific Mary Shelley book, and because it wasn't Frankenstein it was no where to be found. I found that really annoying, but it is what it is. However, this is proof as to why Amazon is winning. Anyway, because I'm a teacher I was able to use my teacher discount card and saved 25%, so that's a plus. Also, because Treasure Island is one of their classics, it was on sale for $5. Another win. Also, one employee, while very nice, lacked the social ability to realize we weren't there to chat her up. She would not stop talking. We didn't have a super negative experience, but it wasn't super awesome either. I can't say I'd recommend going to B&N, for the simple reason that you can get better prices on Amazon. So, if you're willing to wait 2 days, there's your deal. read more

My first go-to book store. I love this place. The salespeople are always willing to help you, they will walk with you to find a book if their computer says they have it, and they will go into the back to find a book that may not be on the shelf. (This happened with me a couple times. The book just hadn't been displayed yet.) If they don't have it, they will order it for you. The coffee shop is NOT part of B&N...it's STARBUCKS. Books, check. Coffee, check. Outlets, negative. This place is okay if you're just coming to pick up a book or look for something to read. Doesn't particularly stand out in any special way. Where it fails to stand out; There is one outlet that I know of. In the middle of an isle of books. If you come here to study or use the WiFi, make sure you're carrying a good charge before hand or you might find yourself in a less comfortable position in the store or on your way back home for juice. I find myself cold, which is okay when I have a jacket because I love a nice cold place, but this being Texas, I never carry a jacket with me and often forget when I come here to study. read more

Jordan saved my Christmas! He went above and beyond to help me find what I needed and when we searched the floor twice, and couldn't find it that's about when I gave up. Jordan however did not! He went to the back and he found exactly what I was looking for!!!! He saved my little brothers Christmas because I searched everywhere to find his present and had zero luck everywhere. So happy Jordan happened to be there that day, or I would have had one sad little brother. read more

I had a simple exchange to make on a jigsaw puzzle at the Pasadena location. The nice woman who was assisting me was clearly a new staff member and needed her supervisor to help her a bit. It was painfully obvious, as she paused to take a few breaths before calling for help, that she was actually afraid to ask for help. He appeared abruptly with an unkind face and attitude, no greeting to the line of customers, including me. He was impatient and rude with the new employee in front of customers. He barely acknowledged me while I thanked him for helping the staff member and I. This manager, Renee was his name, has no business managing staff, let alone the store. Shame on Barnes and Noble for subjecting the public and employee's to this rude, uncaring man. read more

Barnes and Noble is always my go-to for my book addiction, and this used to be our regular store until we moved. It is clean and kept a decent stock. The sales associates were friendly and helpful and the coffee shop made decent coffee. Not a lot to say but your average B&N experience. read more

I love the magazine selection they have. If they do not have it, they can order it for you. I'm also part of that discount club, so if i order online, or get them to order it for me, free shipping. That aside, the place is clean and comfortable to relax. With a starbucks right there, you cant go wrong. read more
