Well done. We were greeted immediately and led to a booth. Our waiter, a young friendly lad was excited when we ordered a "whole" (delicious) bottle of Planet Oregon Pinot Noir. We helped teach him how to pour it and he was appreciative. The chicken jalfreezi and Malia kofta were excellent. The garlic naan was superb! Raita was good and cooled down our appropriately medium hot spice. The restaurant is 1/4 bar 3/4 tables/booths with repetitive background music. A bit noisy but tolerable. Such a cool spot!! The outside seems unassuming, but the inside is beautifully decorated. Modern, swings, art. The service is incredible- you can tell everyone gets along and enjoys what they do. We never had to wait for anything and loved the energy. The food was excellent. Big portions, good spice levels, all fresh. We also loved the unique cocktails. As soon as I walked into Bar Naan, I felt like I was in NYC! The restaurant is so well decorated, the arch, the wall mural! It's all so chic. My friend and I didn't have reservations (the reservations were pretty much full for peak hours for a Friday night) so we walked in. We weren't able to get a table but we were able to get ourselves a spot at the bar and order food there. The bartenders were nice and attentive. The cocktails were delicious and beautiful. We got the loaded masala fries, eggplant chaat, and tikka flatbread. All were delicious, it did take a while for the food to come out but it may have been because of us sitting at the bar rather than at a table with an assigned waitstaff. Wow. We were both very impressed. We got there as soon as they opened since we were in a hurry. We didn't wait long to be seated, and the service was quick. Now, we're no strangers to Indian food. My girlfriend often gets some Uber Eats deal (though I don't, despite being an Uber One member -- go figure) and we usually use it on one of the other two Indian places nearby. There's something about that spicy, spicey, fragrant cuisine that we can't get enough of. Bar Naan might be the best yet. Service started with tap water in a bottle, and the menu is a mix of traditional dishes and fusion items like a lamb burger and loaded masala fries. We ordered the traditional items -- it's a great way to compare places -- and it did not disappoint. The paneer curry had a wonderful flavor, and when I said "spicy", they did alright. My girlfriend's chicken tikka masala wasn't bad, either. We did get a little fusiony with the chili cheese naan, which was more like a quesadilla. Everything was probably the best I've had around here. Portions can vary wildly, but we both left full after having our entrees, a naan, and an appetizer. We'll be back. Been wanting to try this place after all the good reviews. Somewhat disappointing. The sauces are good but my shrimp in the dish tasted old...I left most of it. Also,the wine selection is very small. But I think the most undesirable thing was we were asked to pay at the table (which is fine) but we didn't see the bill first and the waitperson is standing there while you try to figure out a tip and no custom showed up. We were in the Danbury CT area today. We looked for places to eat lunch. We didn't want the same kind of food so we found Bar Naan. From the outside it looked small but it was a good size restaurant inside. Upon entering, We were greeted by Leigh or Lee who welcomed us to the restaurant. Very friendly! I immediately admired the décor. The padded green velvet bar seats were soft and comfy. First we had something to drink they give you water in a cute green glass bottle with a cork, then ordered a starter. I highly recommend ordering masala shrimp. We ended up ordering Korma with shrimp and Jalrezi with chicken very delicious! I have Celiac disease so I have to be gluten free. They have gf , vegan & vegetarian options as well. Chicken Quarma was very good. I only gave 4 stars because they don't give enough white rice and when i asked for another, they charged $4 extra. First off when you walk in the ambiance is amazing and the vibe is so calm and inviting. The house water is in decorative jars that matches the decor. My server was polite and able to juggle several tables at a time without an extended wait. I ordered the cheese naan and Chana masala (came with rice). The food was brought out by the kitchen hot and fresh and every single bite had savory flavor. Although I did not personally try an alcoholic drink, I sat next to a couple who I overheard stating how tasty the specialty cocktails were. My son and I had dinner at Bar Naan on Saturday night. We did make reservations ahead as they are quite busy. Our waitress was excellent, so friendly and knowledgeable on any questions about the menu, so sorry I can't remember her name. Food was great started with Masala shrimp app yum! The garlic naan was the best I've had. Also delicious espresso martinis perfectly chilled and shaken. The Eastbound and down drink was quite good too. We planned to try another new restaurant for Indian tonight but decided for Bar Naan instead, GOD must have had this planned because there is NO WHERE ELSE, no other local Indian will compare for us. We started with Vada Pav (try it with the ) and Garlic Naan (not pictured but delicious.) I had a spring special cocktail called Naya Mausam (I swapped gin for my favorite tequila) it was delicious and refreshing. Hubs had the chicken vindaloo and I requested an off menu Chettinad with lamb SPECTACULAR. It was everything I wanted and more because everything is so aesthetically pleasing. Finished our meal of with Gulag Jambu (gulab jamun) and a wonderful conversation with Rinal who I may just be convinced is my love language sister. Excited to try this new Indian cuisine it did not disappoint. I forgot to take pictures but the restaurant is spacious and has a very warm and cozy feel to it. The cutlery is nice and the cups and plates all very unique and pretty ceramic. The lighting isn't overwhelmingly bright or too dim. The food was soo good. My dad isn't a huge fan of Indian food but he ordered the lamb burger and was was very pleased. The naan was delicious and warm. I got the tikka masala and it was the perfect consistency, nice and creamy with the perfect amount of flavors and spice. The service was super welcoming and nice. The inside is very tastefully decorated and bright and spacious. The staff is very friendly and the service is fast. The paneer tikka fries were out of this world. The biryani veg or chicken were not only delicious but also authentic to the Indian region it originates from. The drinks had whimsical names and were delicious. They are constantly coming up with new types of drinks so save room for a drink or two or more. I will be going back to try the other items on the menu. We came to this restaurant on a Friday night. We called ahead and they said they do not take reservations on a Friday night anymore. We didn't know what to expect since we have never been there before. We arrived around 7:30/8 and had no problem getting a table. The decor inside the place is outstanding! It is so welcoming and warm. We had a nice table that was in front of the bar. If I lived closer, I would definitely go there and have a drink at the bar. I love the comfy velour chairs at the bar. The menu they gave had the smallest print I have ever seen. I am not an old person and don't have trouble seeing, but with it being dark in there and the small print it was so hard to see! I had one of the special cocktails to start, the drinks presentation was beautiful and we saw ones that came out that were interactive. However, the prices are expensive and the sizes are sooo small. As an appetizer, we split the chicken tikka masala pizza. Flavor was good, it was steaming but it wasn't hot. I would try it again though. Then we also had the eggplant appetizer which was outstanding! The eggplant was cute, nice and thin and topped with a fresh salsa. I had a shrimp entree that had a tomato, onion and ginger sauce. I ordered the spice level medium, but it was really hot! Flavor was on point, I enjoyed the onions in the sauce. I would order this again, but would get medium. I really really like this place. The inside is cool; aesthetic is modern boho. It's clean; lively. The food was superb. But the bartender fully ruined my experience here. The other service members were fantastic. But the bartender has got to go. First; he made; not asked; my friend move her seat after she had already settled in; and gave no reason to do this. We ordered cocktails, a starter, and mains; to get water refilled or ask for anything; we had to find a server; the bartender just ignored us. We closed out our bill; bc the restaurant was clearly closing...but surprise!! after having closed out our bill the bartender again; made us move and this time it was so "vloggers" could film a video. I was a bit taken aback bc the restaurant was clearly closing; all the other staff were cleaning up and basically waiting around for the bozo bartender while he poured free drinks for the so called vloggers. Nothing against them; but read the room. The place is closing; and the arrogance of that bartender does not go unnoticed. He is a useless dill-doe that should not be in the service industry. Pouring drinks and presenting them with a light under them is so basic. Maybe providing proper service to paying customers would be a useful learning tool. All in all; The food is tasty; a bit pricey; and if you want to swap naan for rice they charge you. The starters are pretty much all the same; just slightly different ingredients (ie no pani puri).
