Just popped into this little Indian grocery that also has a take out menu. First - the samosas- a crisp, flaky, and golden-brown exterior, encasing a flavorful filling of spiced potatoes and peas. It's a balance of textures - the satisfying crunch of the pastry giving way to the soft, savory interior. Ideally served with amazing chutneys for dipping! Next was delicious lamb saag- tender lamb simmered in a rich, flavorful spinach and spice-infused gravy. The Briyana rice with chicken was also a treat! Been looking for a good Indian food place for a while now and this ABSOLUTELY fits the bill, and their to-go system online is quite easy to handle, which is a plus. I could live solely off that garlic naan and butter chicken, it's so good, and the curry was also quite excellent; also has quite a bit of food in the to-go orders which is ALWAYS appreciated. :D The service has been extremely nice to me when I come to pick up, which is a lovely bonus, and if you need a good Indian grocer this place seems pretty large and well-stocked, too, though I'm less familiar with that side of things. After finding out my favorite Indian restaurant in Danbury closed down (Amba Palace) I did not know what I would do with myself. My hubby stumbled into this Indian Market and we instantly fell in love. My experience is solely based on our take out experience and a brief shopping experience. The food is PHENOMENALLY MOUTHWATERING AMAZING. It happens to be the chefs from Amba Palace are now the cooks here! What a small world! I figured the food quality wouldn't be the same when you order take out versus ordering at a restaurant to sit down. Well, they proved me wrong. Generous portions at amazing prices. Everything is always so fresh and delicious and I just can't get over our two favorite dishes : malai kofta and dal makhani. Just wow. As if that wasn't enough, their flavorful, crisp yummy vegetable samosas are to die for. I'm so happy we now have a place we can just order food from and enjoy it from home. OMG THE FLAVORS!!!! This is seriously one of the best Indian restaurants we've ever been to, and they are so consistent. Their sauces and biryanis are seriously out of this world. So much depth of flavor. They are not a dine-in establishment but they have an extensive takeout menu and seriously the dishes get better with days in the fridge as the spices marinate. We've eaten this as leftovers a week later and it tasted better than day one. 100% recommend. This is our go-to Indian spot :-) read more

Strictly to go but very good. It is a kitchen in the back of an Indian grocery store. You can order online but if you arrive early you can check out the Indian snacks. If you cook Indian food you can get good spices here I ordered a chicken biryani and a chicken korma. We also ordered a peshwari naan. Everything was very good and the portions were huge. Just moved to the area from south Florida where we have a plethora of fantastic and multicultural foods within 2 miles in any direction, my favorite being Indian food. I was delighted to find this place and give it a try however my expectations are HIGH....I have ordered food twice from here now and both times I was unable to leave the parking lot without eating in my car first it is THAT good!!! Slap your grandma good!! The best Indian food I've ever had and by far the most authentic taste and flavors it is just mouth watering good. It crave it in the middle of the night good. Food is good but it's very expensive. Make sure you ask how much things are before you order so you don't get sticker shock like I did. A single take out order of a curry with rice was near $20. I also bought 2 small frozen dinner items to take home that were $10ea. They don't put prices on all the stuff, so I suggest asking. They do have a good selection of items. read more

I was searching for some good Indian food in the Danbury area, and stumbled upon this unassuming location. Previously a 7/11, as you can tell from the parking lot, but now an Indian market. I had driven by many times, but I didn't know they did takeout. After ordering food from here a couple of times, I cannot recommend this place enough! Fantastic, authentic Indian food with generous portions at a reasonable price. This is now one of my go to spots. The menu is huge, and the dishes are customizable. You can adjust the heat/spicy level, and they will be happy to cook meat to the doneness you desire. If you are unsure what to order, they have a selection of dishes prepared in the store like a buffet, and you can pick and choose from those. If you are looking for good Indian food, or just some quality take out, you should give this place a try. read more

I am an avid lover of Indian food so after reading the reviews I was optimistic that I would find a new favorite. Not the case. The flavors were lacking, and the sauces were either too thick or too thin. The samosas were ok but no sauce was provided with them. The fried chicken appetizer was gooey and cloyingly sweet. We will stick with our local favorite, Spice in Bethel. Food is considerably more flavorful and abundant, and the owner is very friendly and appreciative of your business. Really liked this place and their food until they raised their prices significantly. I get the cost of food is up, but their prices are plain ridiculous now. It's not comparable to any other Indian food places in the immediate area. Also, please remember not to order on their website and definitely don't pay on said website. I made that mistake by ordering online and paying, figuring I can just pop in and pick up my food afterwards. Well, when I went to pick up my food, this old guy decided to yell at me in front of other customers for ordering and paying online. Something about how they have to pay a fee to that company. Well... it's your website and your business, so why not take the payment option off or take the whole website down. How the hell was I suppose to know?! Based on the 5 star reviews, I had high expectations of this place, but 5 times I have tried to order off from this place and all 5 times it has been a complete bust! Are they ever open?!! Is there even a chef there who comes in to work at all? Each time I try to advance order, over the phone, 5 times I have been told their kitchen is closed today. Either the chef is not in, or somebody has an exam or the kitchen is simply not open today because it's a Monday ... they sure do come up with a lot of excuses. I have tried them on a Monday, a Tuesday, a Thursday, a Saturday, a Friday! Is there ever a day when the kitchen is operational? I am seriously beginning to think it's not me, it's them! Hence the 1 star review! Please get your act together and let us know clearly if your business hours are reliable or not! Or close the shop already! Tried this take-out restaurant on a whim which is inside the Indian marketplace and was very pleasantly surprised. Huge fresh and spiced portions at very reasonable prices too. Tasted homemade. Ordered lamb Biryani and easily enough for a family of four. Also had the chicken Reshmi Malai kebab and that was great too..chicken was moist and flavorful. Will definitely be ordering again. the best best indian food in northwest area. no other good indian food around danbury. there are other restaurants, but either not good service or they dont have good food. the amba palace up the road from this place repeat the same buffet menu everyday. you can guess how fresh that can be. def recommend this take out for people who are trying indian food for the first time and people who eat it regularly. read more
