For a bright clean alternative to the surrounding cafes Barn Door makes a lovely change. The food is super fresh and delicious, the servings are ample and the ability to modify to Gluten Free or Keto/Paleo is a definite plus. The Haloumi stack is a brilliant take on poached eggs, with loads of avocado and pesto to give it tons of flavour. If you are used to high salt eating you might want to add some as they seem to not use much. That said, if you don't want salt in your diet this is a winner.
The previous posts have commented that the coffee is weak, and a fortnight ago I would have agreed, but it appears that they have taken the comments on board and are now making great coffee. They have cream if you are Keto.
The interior design is light and fresh with bright yellow walls and a variety of seating, booths, tables and bar. The outdoor space at the back is a good alternative to sitting on Redfern Street, which is still iffy at times. The staff are friendly, they get my order right every time despite my fusspot changes and never leave me waiting.
I have now eaten there about six times and tried most of the menu without being disappointed. Someone posted that it was good for meetings and they are right, the tables are pretty generous so you don't feel like you are sitting on top of your colleague. As such, I will be heading there for my second meal/meeting today without any qualms.
