The wait staff was wonderful! They served and cleaned up without disrupting the show and were happy to accommodate our special requests. We had a great time at Barleens tonight. We are first timers, being from out of town. Dinner was delicious, pot roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, carrots and a salad and an optional beef rib and/or a roasted chicken thigh with a large piece of homemade dark chocolate cake. The venue was set up for I would say 500 people and the service was great. Each plate was delivered to the tables of eight. Many of the servers turned out to be performers who would later be on stage providing the entertainment. A lot of work goes into a place like this and they do it well. It is a well oiled machine as I like to say. The performers are very talented and put on an excellent and entertaining show. Kudos to them all. The evening is divided by an intermission and at this time customers have the opportunity to look at souvenirs and such, and this establish promotes a Root Beer brand called Berghoff and Blue Bell Ice Cream and so gives you the opportunity to purchase these then enjoy a root beer float. They also have homemade cookies for sale baked by one of the performers. I had purchased a Snickerdoodle cookie and it was delicious. When I went back for another to share with our group of four they were sold out. We will likely return to this establishment the next time we are in Scottsdale visiting family. What a hoot! This Dinner Theater has 5+ shows ranging from Country to Rock. Their Show schedules and seating charts are on-line. Seating is Community picnic seating. Food Yes there is plenty of food! Wait staff take order from you at your assigned table seat and is delivered to your seat. Bar services Adult Beverages are available at the bar and is not included in your ticket price. Entertainment This is a family business. Performers are family members. "Tip" Some performers also serve your food. Came here with friends for dinner and a show while an out of state friend is here to visit. Great choice! We were treated to a slice of chocolate cake FIRST! Afterward, We had barbecued delicacy: pork, chicken, cooked carrots, garlic mashed potatoes, and a salad. Very, very delicious! Our waiter and waitress checked in on us and kept our drinks filled. Awesome service! After dinner came the Barleen's Ebtertainment! The show was AMAZING and filled with lots of 50's/60's rock and roll performed by the Barleen's staff! I sang along to EVERY song! There was an intermission, which gave us the opportunity to check out the gift shop. I bought a few items too! Doing my civic duty to support local business! This place is only open from November to April, as many of the staff members are snowbirds and entertain in other places throughout the year. Food was good, entertainment was Great. Dinner consisted of tender, beef in a delicious gravy with mashed potatoes and surprisingly tasty carrots. Small salad and a roll, pork ribs and roast chicken for the asking. Big hit was the killer chocolate cake. One of the Lady performers is claimed to be the baker! She was also a drink server, and quite friendly. Music variety went from the Ventures surf music, to classic soul, Country hits, Elvis, and Pavarotti. Some South of the border with excellent horns was a treat. Comedy banter was pleasant and overall the tone was friendly, down home and a good time for anyone. The crowd, and it was packed, was primarily the local demographic. Older, many retired. Nice environment to enjoy a Friday night with neighbors. read more

Have been to Barleens over the years many times with family & friends. We attended the Christmas show Tuesday, Dec 23, and had a great time EXCEPT for the main meal. We have always had good food but this is the 1st time we did not----meat was "overdone", potatoes were "liquidy" and very scarce. The side meats were chicken, falling apart and the ribs were very fat--with not much meat. Either they had new cooks for just getting down to "minimum" food quality due to rise in costs. Their quality entertainment is magnificent and I hope they will step up to to the quality they are known for. read more

FANTASTIC! I went with the LifePoint Seniors group. This was so much more than I ever imagined! The food was fabulous. And the entertainment was above and beyond. Every single person was incredibly talented and multi talented. The imitations were fantastic. The jokes were hilarious! The music was fabulous. I honestly cannot say enough about this show! Worth every penny plus. I will absolutely be back. I hate to sound like a snob. But I am a professional vocalist. And frankly, I'm kind of picky and a pretty harsh critic! Brave travelers drove to the edge of the Valley to Barleen's Dinner Show last Saturday night. We had cocktails before a delicious dinner of chicken, ribs and pot roast that was efficiently served by the by a professional staff and even supported by the musicians working many of the service stations. I would go again just for the dinner. A dozen of Barleen's cast performed comedy and a variety of music including country, rock 'n' roll, blues, boogie woogie, pop, and gospel. Their masterful musicians have payed with the most famous of American musicians such as Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Dione Warwick just to name a few. Black Mountain MC had the entire front row and members were treated to music employing everything from a six string bass, xylophone and steel drums. read more

Everything went well! We couldn't believe how well organized this place is. They truly have it down to a science. The moment you sit down, they have your food ready and they have a great protein selection. And there's plenty of food!! They start you out with scrumptious chocolate cake and then bring water, tea, lemonade and coffee. You can also order an alcoholic drink from their spirits menu. Their wait staff is incredibly nice, informative and efficient. The teamwork is amazing. I especially loved their Parisian carrots. Absolutely delicious!!! We've NEVER had them before, but they were wonderful! The mashed potatoes and gravy tasted homemade and meats were very good, although I'm not particularly a meat eater. But the star of Barleens is their entertainment. OMG! Who would've thought that in the middle of nowhere all this talent could be packed under one little roof???? Each performer was a star, a professional, a talent all in their own right. But together on one stage, it was absolute dynamite! I couldn't believe it. One performance after the other was pure gold!! How did they assemble such a winning team of such talented people? They could act, do impersonations, dance, sing, tell jokes, play every kind of instrument, etc. We were in total awe. Went here with my mom and two busses of those living in my park from Tucson. We had heard it was great from another friend that went a year or two before, but I still was not sure what to expect. The food was much better than expected. They obviously have to serve lots of people, but the served us quick and efficiently with a friendly demeanor. I expected it to be tasteless since it was made in bulk, but the pot roast was especially tasty. The cake was at the table. The motto on their website is "Life is short. Eat dessert first!". While the food and service was good, the show was amazing. There is an abundance of talent. The day we were there they were doing two shows, but it never felt like they were rushing to get us out the door. I think the show was on the order of 2 hours. Afterwords they were at the exits greeting us as we left. Apparently they do several different kinds of music shows. Look at their website for information on when each show is offered. I will definitely be looking to come back. My only regret is that they are so far from Tucson, it is difficult to go more often. Do yourself a favor and check them out. read more

It's been a while, but after several weeks of cold and boredom, we decided to head out to Barleens for the country show matinee. The food, as usual, was great (pot roast, mashed potatoes with gravy, carrots, salad (additional ribs and chicken offered), and chocolate cake served first). Bar prices are reasonable. The staff (family and performers) do everything themselves. Our bar waitress not only sings and plays a horn but she is also the theatre's baker. It's a little strange to recognize your servers suddenly on the stage performing but they did both jobs well. Everything about this "dinner theatre" is well thought out and organized. The service is great. Large TV screens are showing every inch of the stage close up so you don't miss anything. The performers are talented professionals who had us singing along and clapping. I found the price to be reasonable and we enjoyed the afternoon. read more

I would have given a 5 star rating however have always been a bit disappointed when "Barney" includes political innuendos into his comic routine. Well I ate everything on my plate so I'd say it was pretty dang good. My chocolate cake for dessert was moist, big and delicious. 3.75 for a bottle beer was extremely responsible. The main resale for going was the music show and it did not disappoint. The snip it's of most songs from 1972-1984 were spot on. Very good talent on stage and most were family. This will be our go to place as family n friends come to visit. Been here since 1999 and Saturday was the first time going to Barleens. It certainly won't be the last now that I know how good everything is. read more
