Went to the Finale show and enjoyed it very much. The buffet food was tasty and plentiful. The serving line moved quickly and the food was fresh. The servers and staff were friendly and efficient. The Silver Star band put on a professional show with super fun music and upbeat dancing. The female singer was the best I've heard anywhere - and I've seen many Broadway shows. The age average is probably 70ish. I've been here now twice as both occasions were gifted for my birthday. I still enjoyed my time each time even though we were probably the youngest as someone got my husband and I tickets here for my birthday the past two years. The music was fantastic and we saw the variety show and the Grand Finale show and I enjoyed seeing multiple genres of music. The lead singers and musicians were phenomenal, and I absolutely loved the costume changes. The outfit changes really held my attention and was a great part of the show. The food, however, was just okay. I wouldn't come here for the food alone, but rather for the overall experience and to do something different. The meal included vegetables, potatoes, mashed potatoes, spinach cheese ravioli, chicken Parmesan, pulled pork dish, and a pineapple fish dish. This was the same food both times we went, so I'm not sure if they ever change it, I wish they did for a change. The pulled pork and cheese ravioli were good, but I wasn't a fan of the other dishes. The chicken Parmesan was probably the worst I've had as it wasn't at all what I expected from a traditional chicken parm. Dessert is a slice of chocolate cake that's already at your table when you arrive. I did think it was a nice touch that they pass out foil before the show ends so you can take it home and not waste it. The recommended tip listed on a sign at the table is $5 per person, so in addition to your ticket price, expect to pay at least that much extra. Drinks are also not included, so that's another added cost. Overall, this is a great experience, more so for 50+ and would make a fun gift, especially for a couple looking to do something different. I wish they had a family friendly show where it encouraged families with kids as I could see my kids who love music at 2 and 4 enjoying the show and dancing! I sat about in the middle of the theater and had a good view of everything. I really think most seats will be just fine! read more

A full evening of dinner and a show for around $50. It's a great deal! Went to see the Elvis and Friends show with an awesome group of people. You start with the buffet. There's a variety of food and it was all delicious. There's a few different proteins, this night was swiss cheese chicken, pulled pork, and beef stroganoff. The was roasted red potatoes and garlic mashed potatoes with gravy. And sides that included suateed vegetables and cheese raviolis , dinner rolls and butter. There was also a salad bar, but after a little bit of everything previously mentioned I was way too full. Had to save room for the chocolate cake. Then came the show. I never saw Elvis when he was alive, so I was excited to see this show. The guy does a great Elvis impersonation, taking you from the 60s Elvis, advancing to the Vegas Elvis era. And, since "and Friends", other folks in the crew did tributes to act like Bobby Darrin, Nancy Sinatra, Tony Orlando, Barbera Streisand, Melissa Manchester, etc. All people Elvis worked with to some level in his lifetime. Interspersed, was information about Elvis, the things he did for people, and discussions of the songs he sang. It was informative and very entertaining. The whole crew were incredibly talented at both singing and playing their instruments. The Silver Star also offers other variety shows, like a Country Music one, classic radio music one and a couple others. I had never been to a dinner theater before and really enjoyed it. If you're looking for something to do for a full evening or maybe have people visiting and looking for something to do, you should totally go! read more

Here is another Dinner Theater East Valley favorite. Located in a Strip Mall in Mesa, the Silver Star has a similar performance program like on in Apache Junction but a larger verity of shows and show times. Seating is more likened to the terraced seating tables if the Las Vegas Rat Pack days. I prefer this seating vs the community picnic table dinning room arrangement. All the shows are fun, nostalgic, ocassional audience participation and enjoyed with dinner. Pricing is all inclusive less Adult beverages served at the bar. Maybe it's me but I feel all age groups would enjoy these live performances. Parking is shared with other businesses in the Strip Mall. Depending on party size $$$/$$$$ Check them out! read more

My lady and I enjoyed our return to the Silver Star after 3 years. We chose the Ultimate Hits show featuring rock hits from the 60's, 70's and 80's. When we arrived this past Friday (August 4th) evening, we noticed the bar was no longer there. We were informed that our servers (they were wonderful, not to mention efficient) would be available to take cocktail orders at our table and this worked out fine. The buffet was still there and the fare was good overall except for the pasta which was fairly salty. Their famous layered chocolate cream cake was delicious as always and our iced water tumblers were never empty. The show was absolutely fantastic as always with the exception of the underwhelming jokes. The artists were enthusiastic and had no problem getting us audience members to engage with them. The various song selections were well sung and played and much appreciated by those of us in the audience. The band and vocalists were at the TOP of their game during this Ultimate Hits show! Note: The Elvis impersonator was damned good! A BIG thank you to the band, vocalists and the outstanding staff at The Silver Star! The dinner was a buffet. Salad bar was well stocked. The entrees were pretty good, with a choice of turkey, beef and ham. If you have a mobility issues, the staff will assist you with getting your food. The performance was very good. Food: I would say if you're a foodie, this is not the place for you. If you just want something to taste ok and fill you up, you're home Just think high school cafeteria food vibes. The food was nice and hot. The rolls were warm. The salad bar was your average salad bar dressings came in packets. The fruit on the salad bar, I would say, would be your average Costco tub or cut-up fruit. The drinks were served with a smile. The chocolate cake is served at your table before you get there, so if you want to eat dessert first, you're in luck! Service: Everyone was super friendly, and my husband and I were the only brown middle-aged couple there. Our server was nice, and so were the hostesses and other kitchen helpers. The performers were very good but the star vocalist and fiddle mic was so loud it was painful and over shadowed the group. It would have been excellent. WOW, FANTASTIC, AMAZING!!! You have to see this to really understand what an amazing show it is. The show was one of the best I have EVER attended in the Valley of the Sun anywhere. The food was very good and we (large group) all agreed the price just under $40 apiece for dinner and food was well worth it. They had a packed house and every second of the evening was perfect. Alcohol is available for a cost but it too was extremely reasonable. We were told every show is different............so we will all be going back. The Rhythm Cats put on an outstanding show. We picked their Variety Show and were treated to a tight, well rehearsed, musically diverse and completely entertaining show band. Each member has impeccable musicology credentials on a variety of instruments. This is Las Vegas class entertainment here in Mesa, AZ. The buffet style dinner was tops with a super variety salad bar and tasty main course buffet with 4 or 5 different meat choices very well prepared. The dinner alone was worth the price of admission only to be outdone by the stellar show performance. The addition of Jackie added the right female touch to the show. We will be back for more at the Silverstar that's for sure. read more

Wow wow wow Went to the dinner theater last night and was amazed at how delicious the dinner was and then enjoyed the evening with the quality musicians who played multiple instruments and sang with voices that were so awesome. This is a great value for entertainment in the Mesa area and a must. The cost is under $40 each so a value for the quality of service and entertainment. We went to the dinner show last night. The staff was super friendly and right on top of things. The buffet was an excellent variety and their salad bar was the best we have had this vacation.
