The servers and staff were friendly and efficient. The Silver Star band put on a professional show with super fun music and upbeat dancing. I still enjoyed my time each time even though we were probably the youngest as someone got my husband and I tickets here for my birthday the past two years. The music was fantastic and we saw the variety show and the Grand Finale show and I enjoyed seeing multiple genres of music. The lead singers and musicians were phenomenal, and I absolutely loved the costume changes. The outfit changes really held my attention and was a great part of the show. The food, however, was just okay. I wouldn't come here for the food alone, but rather for the overall experience and to do something different. The meal included vegetables, potatoes, mashed potatoes, spinach cheese ravioli, chicken Parmesan, pulled pork dish, and a pineapple fish dish. This was the same food both times we went, so I'm not sure if they ever change it, I wish they did for a change. The pulled pork and cheese ravioli were good, but I wasn't a fan of the other dishes. The chicken Parmesan was probably the worst I've had as it wasn't at all what I expected from a traditional chicken parm. Dessert is a slice of chocolate cake that's already at your table when you arrive. I did think it was a nice touch that they pass out foil before the show ends so you can take it home and not waste it. The recommended tip listed on a sign at the table is $5 per person, so in addition to your ticket price, expect to pay at least that much extra. Drinks are also not included, so that's another added cost. Overall, this is a great experience, more so for 50+ and would make a fun gift, especially for a couple looking to do something different. I wish they had a family friendly show where it encouraged families with kids as I could see my kids who love music at 2 and 4 enjoying the show and dancing! I sat about in the middle of the theater and had a good view of everything. I really think most seats will be just fine!

There are two green rooms we use - both have the space to accommodate approximately 40 faculty members who make up the stage party. And I think the sound system makes me sound even better than I really am!! lol The lobby area is spacious and great for after-ceremony gatherings. It truly is a great place! I also have contemplated taking some of the arts classes they offer. I haven't found time in my busy schedule but I do know they offer a variety if classes. I was not happy with the bathroom stall I used. It seems when so many other people slam their doors my door became unlocked and opened on me while using the restroom. The bathroom was very clean!! The other annoying part was there was only one person working the concession stand. So we couldn't get anything. Cause our intermission ended by the time we got to the front of the line.

We purchased tickets for the Thursday, January 8th show. We arrived a bit early on the day of the show. It was our first time at Hale and we wanted to be prepared. We were directed to a side entrance where they usually have their music shows. I knew the theatre was small, but was still surprised to see how intimate it was. I didn't mind it. The theatre sells concessions before the show and during intermission. We didn't purchase any. The show was phenomenal! The band and the singers were very talented and put on a fantastic performance. They nailed the original voices, which is not easy, and even hit some of the high notes. It took us back to the disco days of the 70s. We can't wait to catch another show at Hale Center Theatre!

Downtown Gilbert 10/5 The Town of Gilbert has done a spectacular job of its downtown revitalization planning with the it's building repurposing and new development architecture requirements and marketing that has attracted some great companies making it a destination for fun, food, entertainment and shopping. It's always nice to take a bench for a bit to take in the beautiful Gilbert tower at night while enjoying the last of our gorgeous Senorian desert weather before summer! Complimenting the tower is the Theaters markee, brightly lit and a throwback to the days when entertainment and theater were central to an evening out. Venue 5/5 There are really no bad seats as the venue is well designed for sound and a more quaint experience. Performance 5/5 The "Always Patsy Cline" production was excellent. The show artfully told her story, a humble performer who gained national notoriety but was taken at a tender age of 30 in 1963 from a plane crash on her journey home from a performance. I became a fan of hers and other country artists of this period after moving to Arizona. This period was full of names, voices and lyrics that for me epitomized the charm and perhaps the innocence of early America my parents enjoyed and a little before my time. And it's safe to say that Tempe Center for the Arts is one of my favorites. First off, you can either park in the parking garage a few minutes away from the venue by foot or you can park in the gravel lot that is a minute or two farther away. If you park in the garage, they will validate your ticket. Guaranteed parking is always a big win in my book. I've been to the Tempe Center for the Arts (TCFTA) twice. Once for a concert and once for a play put on by the Arizona Theater Company. Both have been A+ experiences. First off, the venue is located right by Tempe Towne Lake which makes for a picturesque location. The venue itself is just as beautiful with stunning architecture, both inside and out. It's clean. It's comfortable. The ushers are friendly. There is plenty of seating to hang out outside before the show, during intermission, or after. You can also hang out on the patio where there's a fire pit and seating. On a certain day of the week that's escaping me, they do an open mic night out there. I haven't tried any of the concessions, but they have a bar and some snacks. There's complimentary water. The theater is pretty intimate which makes for a better experience. It's designed well. There are even often some art installations you can check out. Overall, you can't ask for much better than this when it comes to an event experience! I've become a season ticket holder of the Arizona Theater Company, so I can't wait to be back!

I stopped by for an Agatha Christie play on a Thursday at 7:30. First off, parking won't be an issue in their complimentary lot. I came straight to the theater for the performance, but if you're looking for some food and drinks before the show, there are a good number of bars and restaurants within close proximity. Once you arrive, there's a small lobby area to check in. From there, walk to the back to reach the theater. It seats roughly 100 people or so, so it's definitely a small theater. Which I love. You're right there in the heart of the action with a great view of the performance. With that being said, you won't get as elaborate of a set design as bigger theaters in town, but they make up for it in other ways. E.g. affordable ticket prices. Before the show and during intermission, they sell water, soft drinks, and snacks. Not a wide variety of options, but at $2 a pop, you've gotta love the prices. I for sure was the youngest person at the performance (kids these days don't know what they're missing), but that's totally fine by me. Looking forward to stopping by for another performance in the near future!
