Dawn did an excellent job on my Airedale as well as my Golden Retriever. I had very specific requests which she followed exactly. Boarding. ...this is not a fancy place, however, the facility comes with decades of animal handling experience which is extremely important. Dawn takes care to make sure each dog is very safe and comfortable. The dogs have secure inside kennels/runs as well as space outside for fresh air. We always feel sad leaving our dogs. But they did fine and so did we knowing they were in good hands. Thank you Dawn and Jeff.

I think showing some respect for the hard working employees at Four Paws might go a long way, too. They have given lots of TLC to my Littles, are patient with my little Gramma dog, and take extra care with my little Yorkie poo who has sensitive paws. I have now been using Four Paws Only for 3+years and am thankful they are reliable, close by, safe and caring- a valuable commodity to find, both on the Island, and off. I had a golden retriever before him, and I have never had as amazing an experience at a dog daycare, boarding, grooming, etc place as Big Valley. It is evident the staff absolutely love animals and put such care and dedication into ensuring every dog, cat, etc is not only safe, but having the bestest of times. I'm moving to the Boston area, and one of things that makes it hardest to leave Poulsbo is that Pippin is parting ways with one of his favorite places in the world. I'll forever and ever be grateful for everyone at Big Valley. I broke my leg a few summers ago and they were SO accommodating for me and Pippin, it melted my heart. Keri, Winter, Emma, Tapanga, Dayna, Nicole, Emily, Sarah, Hailey, Ava, Grace, Cal, Dylan, Megan, Keeley, Gideon, Meadow, and anyone else I missed - thank you all SO MUCH for being the best extended family for Pippin. First you have to bring your dog in for a daytime stay, then you have to come back for an overnight stay. And the meet and greet is good for only one year, so you have to come back and do it all over again for the same dog, which is absurd.

The smallest (chicken) -5lbs- was suffering from separation anxieties as the household started to go back into the office, get a bit more social outside (w/o pets) and so we were nervous using RDR since we had behavioral challenges. The team/family at RDR took on the challenge and in a matter of a week or two, converted our once, scared - sky is falling- and little bossy princess into a confident, calm little bossy princess. No more are the days we used to muzzle her (picture the worlds smallest muzzy) just to get her toe nails clipped. She's so much better than before and all this without training, just love and caring. We are so grateful to the entire team at RDR for opening the doors for us and our little family and highly recommend them for small and super small dogs, absolutely the best! And no, we never viewed behind-the-curtain at their location but it really doesn't matter - The proof is in the happiness of our babies each time we drop and pick them up!

Cloud had a tough time with his grooming and bath at first, but with care and patience he now does very well. Cloud is now 3 years old and we would not think of taking him anywhere else for day care, grooming or boarding. There have been times of emergency and RDR has gone above and beyond making sure we had nothing to worry about when my husband and myself ended up in the hospital. RDR took such good care of Cloud. He just loves it there and gets so excited when we pull up. I think if he ever got lost he would find RDR before he would find home!
