This is one of the few places that carry the Prey brand of food for dogs and cats which is why my…read morewife and I chose to come here. The first time we came here, the owner introduced herself, and my wife and her chatted for a while. In the conversation, my wife mentioned that the K9 with her was her service dog due to her PTSD related to her service in the Navy. The owner mentioned that they had a veteran's discount, and so my wife was stoked on that as an option. We have been coming here for a few months, and during that time, we have received the 5% discount up to today [04 March 2025]. We came to get our 2 bags of K9 food and our bag of cat food and was told by the man behind the counter that only active service members are going to receive the 5% discount. My wife nor I have heard of only active service members receiving a discount at any store. The man was kind in regards to not giving us the discount and stated that it was something which had been in effect for quite some time so he seemed as confused about our situation as we were. If it weren't for the fact that this place is one of the few places that sell the brand Prey for dog food we'd stop coming here because we get a veteran's discount everywhere else we have shopped for dog food. I am sad that a local place, which is part of a close community of Port Townsend, doesn't offer a discount to those who have served for our country in the military along with active members. So if you are expecting to receive a veteran's discount (or have in the past), then this is a headsup that the discount doesn't apply. They are pleasant enough here and have a great variety of food options for dogs and cats. If we hadn't received mixed messages regarding getting a veteran's discount, then I wouldn't have taken the time to write this review with a 2 star rating. If they decide to accommodate veteran's along with active members then I will be happy to give this place a 5 star rating. Thank you for your time in reading this review. *Revision Renee reached out to me today [05 March 2025] and discussed the situation that occurred yesterday at Pet Town. It was refreshing to have a professional, relaxed and transparent conversation with someone who was quick to rectify the situation as described up above which had occurred. She let me know that she had clarified with all of the staff that works here to make sure that the 5% discount applies to military members, both active and veterans alike and for senior citizens. My wife and I will continue to come here for our purchases of food that we get for our furry family. The service has always been welcoming and professional from the beginning. I have also chosen to leave my original review above so that those who read my review will be able to see that this establishment is willing to go the extra mile for those who come to shop here and that this store is a wonderful addition to the local community. Thank you Renee and crew for continuing to shine and add to the community of Port Townsend in a positive way.

The groomers were gentle, patient, and precise. I highly recommend!

While searching for a groomer and trying to become educated , my cat little bit had become fully engulfed in painful matts. At the end of our rope, we came across Austin at Petazzled. He took the time to listen, and also to get to know her personally. He also, and this is important, moved his grooming table over next to the lobby so I could be with her and calm her. It was a huge job, he made it into two appointments to give her a break. When we came back, though its painful, she was excited to see him. I've never had a better experience with such an arduous task. He charged me far less than he should have , so I tried to make it up with his tip, but it was still lower than anywhere I've been. you might have some trouble with scheduling, but that's because he takes extra care with individual animals. Ill go nowhere else. Thank you Austin. Lil Bit (fluffy) and Jason

Very dissapointed- stood up 3X by Austin for my scheduled grooming apt- he texted at the last…read moreminute to cancel my apt. He did not bother with any personal phone call. One time I arrived for my scheduled apt., Austin insisted that I was supposed to come 1/2 hour earlier, so it was too late for him to groom my dog, and besides, his next apt. had arrived early. I rescheduled a few days later, then he cancelled at the last minute with a text which I missed. This caused me to drive 2X from Sequim for an apt., which did not occur after I arrived. On another occasion in the middle of my dog's trim, my dog coughed up a tiny amount of phlegm. Austin immediately called me, saying I can't continue with your dog, please come right away to pick her up. He suggested that I take my dog to the vet (with a very tiny amount of phlegm she coughed up). I brought her home- she was fine for the next days, and I am stuck with a half groomed dog, requiring another day to reschedule. There was no consideration for the customer, and no courtesy call to the customer to cancel 2 different apt's. Austin thinks it is fine just to text to cancel shortly before the scheduled apt. I find this lack of professionalism, unreliability, poor communication and management to be unacceptable, and I hope to warn others before they too have a bad experience. I will never return, and will share my negative experiences with every one I know. A pattern of negative experiences suggested to me that Austin did not like me, or my sweet dog. The message I got was: "you and your dog are not welcome here".

Recently, my littlest cat was acting very weird and stopped eating over a period of a few days. I thought it might be because of the heat wave we were having at the time, but when she got increasingly lethargic and started hiding, I got worried and called Chuckanut Valley. They got us right in! After quite a bit of poking and prodding, not to mention a full panel of tests, it was determined that my cat was likely just hot. It was a pretty expensive diagnosis, but I was relieved it wasn't something worse. The doctors and staff here are always so loving and kind. And while their prices are definitely premium (aren't all vets?) I do appreciate they have prescription meds on hand when I need them for my pets, and offer discounts if you offer full diagnostic panels. I am so happy to have found them!

He was typing. My guess is that he is adjusting the report on the procedure. Ultimately my dog died. I'll never go back. And suggest the same for you.

Before driving an…read morehour, I called ahead to confirm if they had birds for adoption or if it was just a supply store, as I was specifically interested in that. The guy I spoke with said yes, they do have birds for adoption, but didn't clarify much beyond that. I assumed it would be like a Petco-style place where you can meet and adopt birds. When I arrived, I was shocked by how dusty the store was and how poorly maintained the cages looked. The birds' habitats seemed depressing and unsuitable -- definitely not the kind of environment where birds should live. When I asked about adopting a bird, I was told flat out, "THEY ARE NOT FOR ADOPTION." I was confused because didn't I call to ask that? And they said yes? Then I asked, "Neither of them?" He said only two types of birds were actually available for adoption, and those were the same birds you can find at Petco. If I had known this, I wouldn't have driven an hour I was specifically interested in African Grey parrots, which they had but not for adoption and since they are not available at Petco, I thought they would have one there for adoption. We were looking at the birds and we were never told "if you are interested in adopting these are available" which I would've appreciated. I decided to go to Petco after which is 5 min away from my house! and got a jenday conure bird there. Anyway, I ended up buying some sunflower seeds for a bird I already have at home, but he wouldn't eat them, which was weird because those are his favorite. It turned out the bag was expired, which explains why. Overall, this place felt really poorly managed, especially regarding the birds' living conditions. They desperately need better habitats that allow the birds space to stretch their wings and have a more natural, healthy environment. I do not recommend this place.
