Truth be told I was anxious about calling a plumber when my kitchen sink started to leak. Can I…read moreget away with just sticking a bucket down there?? But alas no as I know way too many scary stories about mold growth due to leaks. The last plumber was expensive, incompetent and thought it necessary to pontificate on his unsolicited political views. The plumbing company before that didn't even bother to show up. So you'll forgive my resistance to the trade. Regardless, pain points gotta be relieved. Took a deep breath and called Favinger. Happy to say that I was blessed with Steve & Mike -- a highly competent & uber professional duo. From call to completion, they took less than 90 minutes. They were straightforward, explained everything in laypersons terms, efficiently resolved the issue and charged a reasonable amount. They were also very kind and an absolute pleasure to work with. They also provided very useful suggestions for two plumbing projects that I'll be addressing in the future and you know I'll be hiring these guys to handle them. Super glad I reached out the this plumbing company -- think they cured my PTSD (Plumber Traumatic Stress Disorder) :)

Also gave excellent guidance on coordinating an electrician for the wiring for our new electric water heater. The scheduling was very prompt. Two plumbers came the next day after the electrician did the wiring. I felt that the cost of the new water heater and installation was very reasonable. My only dissatisfaction was that one of the plumbers was not diligent about proper COVID-19 precautions and often did not wear a mask inside our home. Our water heater is located inside our house. This plumber also used our bathroom without first asking and did not wear his mask. I had to directly request that he kept his mask on. I wanted to let the manager know about this lack of CoVid precautions and left several messages to discuss this, instead of leaving a less than sterling review on Yelp. But he never got back to me.

You can trust Marv's Plumbing…read more My house is 100 years old - and so is the plumbing:) Since I bought the house, I have had drainage issues, basement problems, water main questions, sewage backups and storm water run off that didn't really run off! I've hired countless plumbers to help me. Then, a friend recommended Marvs! Dave came to the rescue, after two of my sump pumps stopped working and I was shop vac-ing water for days. He realized the pumps were not only broken but they were the wrong pumps. He installed new ones as well as alarms so that if the power went out (or for any other reason the pumps stopped working)-- I would know! He was generous with his time and explained what was going on. He sent someone out to check on it the next day. His bill was very reasonable. In this climate, water is a constant threat to our homes and property and we must be proactive. Don't worry, though. Let the experts handle it! Marv's plumbing has the answers for you!

I have mixed feelings bout Northwest Energy Systems (NES). I used them 3 times, once to install a…read morewater heater (great experience; original review), a second time to repair a gas leak (things went terribly wrong), a third time to investigate this oily burnt foul smell in the kitchen (dissatisfied). PROS + Most of the people at NES are nice. Chris in Sales is professional and easy to work with. Dan, the own, went out of his way to make things right when my gas leak repair went REALLY bad. CONS - When I had a gas leak in the garage, this one technician misdiagnosed and replaced a gas pipe that was not leaking. A few hours after the technician left, I called them to ask to send the technician back as I was still smelling gas in the garage. The receptionist REFUSED to send him back because she did not believe I was still smelling gas. As it turned out, the technician had replaced a line that was not leaking. After spending several hours, the technician finally located where it's really leaking. Unfortunately, this is not the end of my ordeal. They put a temporary hookup so that I can at least use the water heater before they can fix the leak on a later day. Then, the temporary hookup leaked! It was after hours, but I called NES and left a message for the on-call person. I ended up having to call the Cascade Natural Gas emergency line as I did not receive a call back, and Cascade Natural Gas shut off my main gas line. Because of the misdiagnosis and the failure to respond to my after-hour request, Dan, the owner, gave me his personal cell number in case I have difficulty reaching them. - The same technician was sent to my house a couple days ago when I requested to investigate the foul smell I noticed in the kitchen. Ok, the previous time, he was reluctant to investigate the issue any further as he thought he had fixed the leak. This time as well, he was reluctant to do anything. First thing he said was "I don't know what to tell you." So, I asked him to at least check for a gas leak. 10 minutes later he left, and I received a bill for $92.40 ($85 trip charge plus tax). As I requested a service call, I did pay (the entire bill), but I expressed to the office my concerns about this technician's unwillingness to help me TWICE. I am not even calling this technician incompetent, but it's a waste of money at least if he's not willing to help his customers. The office promised me to send someone else in the future. It is my Yelp review policy not to name names to avoid "public shaming." However, if you're considering to hire NES and want to know which technician I'm talking about, please PM me. I can share the information in private. ************************************************************ If you found my review helpful, don't forget to hit "useful" and/or "cool"! I originally called Clean Air to check out an old scary pellet stove in a house I just purchased…read more They came out and did an inspection, free of charge, and then reasonably said "we can't fix this" (it was super old and rusty and definitely not going to be safe) - and so we discussed options. The guy worked through some different heating options with me, since I wanted to replace the old baseboard heaters. After we settled on a mini split heat pump, he stayed and took some measurements and we came up with a quote on the spot, considering the different pump sizes, brands, and layouts. They then worked with me to get the financing to make it possible. The installation for 2 outdoor units and 3 heads was done in a single day, and then another day for the electrical work to hook up. The crew was very nice and respectful of my space. Unfortunately some control wires got crossed during the installation (so the coolant was going to the wrong unit) and it took me a while to diagnose why the temps were so weird between the two units upstairs. But once I called and asked about it, they came right out and fixed the issue and it's been working great ever since!

This sidewalk connects two sections of a heavily-used recreational trail, but because it was parked on the sidewalk, people had to walk into the street to get around it. Lots of elders in this neighborhood use that sidewalk for their exercise. There isn't a sidewalk on the other side of the street that people can use instead. I contacted the company via FB to let them know, but got no response. I'd waited an hour before posting here hoping that my FB message would prompt them to move it. Didn't happen.
