Huge nice outdoor spaces! The turn off 29 is tight, but once you're on the side road it's a very easy stop from route 29. The bartender was great to talk to. I tried a flight of beers and brought home a bottle. It's a Belgian style place mostly, but I had a nice variety of styles including a good ipa in my flight

Great service and beer here. I came in on a random Saturday evening and stopped by to try it out and was very happy. I explained how I'm not a big fan of IPAs, but my server was like "We got you covered!". They specialize in Belgian style beers, so I was in luck. I did a flight then a pint of my favorite - the Motley Prince Belgian Imperial Wit. I don't remember seeing much of this style in Virginia. Tasting it makes me wish I did. Kudos for great spacing outdoors for social distancing.

Really great beer. Large wide open spaces inside and out. Nice folks, great atmosphere. Seriously, it's really great beer! The flavors and complexity of each brew are top notch.

A group of 7 us visited Barking Rose Brewing Co. + Farm this past weekend. The official name of the brewery - according to their web site and signage is: Barking Rose Brewing Co. + Farm To date - Yelp refuses to update the business name to the correct name - despite supplying them with verifiable business name information. Barking Rose Brewing Co. is at the end of a gravel road - take care coming down the road - as the road is not really two lanes - so you'll want to watch for oncoming vehicles. Barking Rose Brewing Co. is in a brand spanking new facility. The brewmaster - Matt - used to run another local craft brewery - Forge Brew Works - which was located down in the Lorton, VA area. You'll see a couple of the Forge Brew Works signs inside Barking Rose Brewing Co. I visited Forge Brew Works back in the day - and sampled all their beers - I find Matt's approach and philosophy to brewing - is one that resonates with my palate. He really understands nuance and flavor profiles. And on top of that - he is a super nice guy! The brewery is currently operating under a "soft opening." The current beer lineup is 3 beers: Use Your Melon Saison (4.2% ABV) (2.5 stars on Untappd) Farm Use Patersbier (4.4% ABV) (3.5 stars on Untappd) 029 Jump Street IPA (6.8% ABV) (4.25 stars on Untappd) I'm not a fan of Saisons - which is why I did not rate that one so highly, but Saison fans will enjoy the rendition - it's thoughtfully crafted and well executed. I can't say I recall ever trying a beer with the style "Patersbier" - but it was a nice ale. Finally, the 029 Jump Street IPA was really good! As I recall - it has 3 hops - I want to say Amarillo - and two of the Pacific NW C's (I want to say Centennial and Cascade). A delicious, hoppy, piney ale, with a nice bitter finish. After my tasting flight, I went back for a full pint of the 029 Jump Street. More beers are on the way. Matt has a lot of expansion capacity tap-wise - I can't wait to see what else he comes up with. The only two things I will ding them on: (1) They need more seating (more tables and chairs) (2) The floor is a raw concrete - hard to keep clean. I think they should put down an epoxy coating on the concrete - it will look way nicer and is easy to clean! The brewery has yet to host their official "Grand Opening" - so watch for that - which as I understand it - is very soon. We will be back! #BarkingRoseBrewery+Farm

I'm not a beer reviewer, someone will be along in a day or so to do that. I'm a business reviewer and I've got to say, Barking Rose is the kind of place that I like to do business. My wife and I spent an hour or two tonight chatting with Matt, the owner and master brewer. Matt knows beer. I've never met anyone that knows more about the various beer styles. Obscure beers from the Czech Republic? Matt knows. Small brewery in Pennsylvania? Yep, Matt knows. Belgian beers? Matt REALLY knows. Tonight was the first night of the soft opening and there were only 3 beers on tap but I was still impressed with Barking Rose. I plan more visits in the future, and can't wait for the selection to increase to a dozen or so as Matt plans.

    Available brews for today.

Absolutely fantastic! Knew it when it was Forge and it is even better now! Matt and Ashley Rose have created a great place to share beer, food, stories and friendship! I will be bringing my office here soon.

There was a huge outdoor space for kids and families complete with some games and picnic tables. We sat in the closed-in porch area and were treated to some live music on a Saturday. The beer was solid - hubby. and I split a flight and enjoyed the marionberry wheat and Sweet Nala stout. We liked their logo "Soil to Suds" and bought a few shirts - they even had a bunch of shirts on sale for $5! Great place for family time at a brewery.

There is seating both inside and outside. The inside is a bit stark on the inside with drywall on the walls and ceiling. I woulds have loved if they had lined the walls and ceiling with something like pine. I've sampled a number of their brews. My fave brews thus far are two ales: - Snafu (Strong Ale) - The Donkey Calleth (Imperial IPA) They have a small popcorn machine for snacks (which is free) - but other than that, as far as I can tell - there are no other food options. The folks who run the place are super nice. There is no WiFi network and they currently do not accept Apple Pay. #FourJsFarmAndBrewery

I was looking for good beer for a local gathering, and searched through several breweries. I was interested in the options here that are diverse, yet small and curated. I opted for the rye cold IPA, Rye Hard With A Vengeance - this has a strong rye flavor with almost a rye bread note to it, the hops weren't as pronounced as I prefer but the result is an overall good balance that to me leaned almost toward a dark lager. The Turtlenecks & Blazers is what I'll return for - a deceptively easy to drink 6.6%. The pronounced hops and slight fruitiness are one of the better IPAs I've had recently. It doesn't veer into dank bitterness or overboard with citrus, while also not being a flat boring middle-of-the-road IPA. A great pour, and I was disappointed there wasn't any canned when I got there. The only thing I'd improve is the seating, which is a personal impression. The white tiles and bright lights are a bit too much in my opinion, by softening the interior just a little it would be somewhere I'd hang around.

The service was excellent, the staff was friendly, and the other guests (mostly regulars) made for great company! Powers only serves beer, but they do have a food truck rotation that comes through, so make sure to check their website before visiting to find out what's being served that day. The beer selection is decent and has something for everyone's taste. There is plenty of indoor seating and just as much outdoor seating, so you won't have to worry about standing up the whole time even when it's busy. Outside they have a Corn Hole setup and they also had a soccer ball you could kick around if you wanted to. To add to the outdoor ambiance, there was also a chicken coop that you could walk up to and look at. Also, if you're around during the evening, they might get the bonfires going! One of favorite parts about our visit was being able to enjoy my porter outside by the bonfire.
